  1. You seem to be very pro Markanday who’s done bugger all in his time here, yet constantly stating how Dolan’s out of his depth despite achieving far more here (and he’s younger).
  2. Really? You think the fans at Ewood were in any way critical of TM over five years of plodding?
  3. If he was the ‘second coming’ he wouldn’t be here. He’s flawed, he’s inexperienced in the grand scheme of things, but he’s doing a good job in the circumstances.
  4. To be fair JDT gets a healthy amount of flak at games, as has every manager here… apart from the last one, I reckon even Kenny copped more than that fella. Most odd.
  5. ‘Southern supremacy’ in full flow there…
  6. Seems fairly simple to me, no options on the bench, we run out of steam. But it’s ok, January’s nearly here…
  7. Not around me it’s not. It’s all about results and even when we had them sitting top 6 for the majority of last season he received far more pelters than TM did in five years of plodding along (with a budget JDT could only dream of having).
  8. Of course he is. Look at that bench, should this squad be doing better?
  9. To be fair he wasn’t even particularly popular when second/third in the league last season never mind now, think it’s more pining for Tone more than anything personal to JDT. Always the way with rebound relationships.
  10. Thats the same at every single football club and has been since time immemorial. So certainly can’t explain why this bunch have been so weak for so long.
  11. Doesn’t surprise me he’s never been remotely popular at Ewood, not like St Anthony of Yarm who certainly was until the very end.
  12. It’s not a question of the players, DoF and manager ‘deserving’ more from the fanbase. We are a midtable second division club but with top end prices, the crowds therefore are what they are and that won’t change whilst we tread water (at best) for ever and a day as a ‘development club’ that is happy to stay out of League 1, but charging £400-£500+ for the privilege to watch it.
  13. ‘Stayed away as requested’… aye nowt do with having one win by December, of course.
  14. What a good idea, could be part of the club’s ’green’ plan or something, as that’s very important to them…
  15. Liverpool and Man Utd have been the clubs of choice with Asian lads long before Mo Salah. Football is very, very popular with the Asian community of Blackburn, just not Blackburn Rovers. That has to change, but it’s going to be a slow road.
  16. Do you think the difference between yours and Mike’s figure over the past few days is that it looks as is if quite a few front row seats have been sold that are normally greyed out as standard?
  17. That means he’ll have had a good season for us next term then if he gets snapped up by a big side, that’s better than him just walking in four and a bit months time, no?
  18. I suppose we don’t know how many have been sold/compd in the middle two corporate/hospitality blocks as always greyed out. But yep we’ll have sold out the lot by KO in general sale areas - Oxford game did, before that, err, I’m struggling.
  19. Not faulting it, it’s important, especially with an Asian community that we need to see through the gates in increasing numbers in the future. But fanbases don’t neatly fit into 1970s created arbitrary lines on a map, especially now as people have become more transient (as your under 50% figure outlines). We must have a bigger presence in the Ribble Valley and Hyndburn to name but two as we have a big latent support in those council areas. Indeed not being ‘their’ borough doesn’t stop Burnley in Pendle, PNE in South Ribble or Bolton/Preston in Chorley.
  20. Thanks for confirming. And that under 50% figure incudes Darwen, of course. So the town of Blackburn itself must be at historically low numbers as a percentage of the ST base… something that seems to be lost on the club as it is still very Blackburn focused in its outreach, school engagement, advertising etc.
  21. Fair dos EiT. Hoisted by my own petard there I did miss the late 70s. But ok, generally speaking. If you look when in the same division in the 60s, similar, 2000s and 2010s, similar - so you get the point that it is recent pricing policy (half the price of ours) that has seen them leave us for dead as it just wouldn’t have happened otherwise. Us, Burnley, PNE, Bolton are very comparable as clubs and should be used as a benchmark whenever possible, I.e what attractive ticketing can achieve.
  22. It’s my view, it’s an estimate. If you honestly think the majority of our support still resides in Blackburn you’ve been away from the place longer than you think. *Though through the work the Trust is doing I would wager the likes of Mike Graham would know for sure if he’s privy to share it.
  23. A ‘link’ to what? The club’s ST holder spreadsheet? Yep, you’re right it is a fact that Bolton borough is bigger than BwD, case closed then, support, of course, ends at arbitrary local council borders. So we obviously can’t compare ourselves with Bolton Wanderers.
  24. Not that old chestnut. More of our support is based outside of Blackburn than it. Using council areas as ‘catchment area’ is old hat. Bolton have never had substantially higher gates than us when playing at a similar level of football in 150 years. Very evenly matched clubs when it comes to support. £219 STs is the start and end of it.
  25. They now have more ST holders in the third division than they had for a load of their PL seasons. Vastly reduced prices and a club that *actually* engages their support shows what’s possible and what fans will get behind. Our day will come, Christ knows when like.
