  1. They are selling tickets in the upper tier, I see… won’t somebody think of the bin bags!
  2. Well obviously, but take specific players out of it it’s clear such players are vital to any successful side.
  3. Commentators not mentioning his name much is kind of the point, you won’t hear it as he wins it, moves it quickly. Footballers like that often go under the radar, but I bet if you asked the players/JDT they’d make clear how much he’s pivotal to the side..
  4. If someone actually thinks the game ‘completely passed Tronsdadt by’ then I’d question their knowledge of the game… or is it due to him being a signing of that ‘dire’ DofF…
  5. For me, he does that role a fair bit better than Travis. Breaks up play, moves the ball to a blue and white shirt. Sounds simple but the side certainly looks better for it. The ‘move the ball to a blue and white shirt’ bit is often a problem for Trav.
  6. Yet here they are in the Premier League regardless, the strength of the football pyramid in this country is unrivalled, we should all cherish it… despite the elite game doing everything in its power to snuff it out.
  7. As always in professional sport, that’s the only reason.
  8. I suppose it’s a lucky break that *another* borefest of an international break is nearly here. Gives us 15 days post Friday to get some lads fit. Worry being post the internationals we’ll be playing a load of fixtures without a break from late November to mid March, add the inevitable January window shambles into the middle of that and another promising season will in all likelihood fizzle out… hugely frustrating for the players, JDT and fans, though the owners and their hired hands won’t be remotely arsed about it.
  9. Watford and Norwich are in the last year of parachutes too, they’ve both made a right hash of it.
  10. No outgoing is good business for the team if player sales are now purely to pay day to day bills.
  11. Aye, and the tax bill will need paying.
  12. It was obvious that it was the end of the road for the white ball team, success or failure in this World Cup, oldest team by a mile in the competition… so the ECB/Key’s idea was to give them all multi-year lucrative contracts?! The new generation, Brook et al should’ve been signed up post World Cup to keep them out the clutches of the franchise circuit, but the rest of the white ball specialists should’ve been told ‘thanks very much, but feel free to now fill your boots in the Dubai T10 and the like’.
  13. Yes.. you best get a wiggle on!
  14. We used to do it, all the way back to the Bowyer era when we had a load of good players for this level, yet still fell away every time. Given up bothering now… so watch me scramble around for one this May.
  15. Won’t somebody think of the magazine!
  16. Head down the road to Ipswich, now that’s a proper bogey ground for us.
  17. ‘They were badly advised in those first 18 months, they’ve been fantastic owners ever since, who else we gonna get?’
  18. If and when Wharton goes for peanuts in January purely to pay day to day bills, have an ask around you at Ewood for who’s to blame. Who do you reckon will get most of the ire? That family that has run down this great club for a decade until it resembles this sad, diminished rump we now see… or will you hear more of that it’s due to our ‘shit fans and crap gates, we have no money and are a small club, so what do you expect?’
  19. Setting up a stand alone league that will lead to inequality with the rest of the divisions? Can’t believe that!
  20. Tough one, as there is ability there, but his lack of pace and decision making let him down. However, as fans we are often harsher on our own players as we see them every week, i.e. we’ve generally no idea how some Championship journeyman at Bristol City or wherever is performing every week in comparison. There’s a lot of mediocre players in this division getting a game. But in the medium term, wouldn’t surprise me to see him in League 1.
  21. The huge gates folk always remember from the 50s and 60s were for FA Cup ties, a national phenomenon in that era. Our top flight league gates were largely similar to what we had in the 90s/2000s
  22. If that’s the case, surely that means the standard of the league he’s playing in is too high for him, not that he isn’t up to being a professional footballer. Players eventually find their level.
  23. Rollercoaster of emotions in MercerWorld
  24. Remember when you actually could have a ‘big Friday night out’ in Blackburn?
  25. Don’t think anybody is being ‘harsh’ on JDT. It’s the owners and the down-sizers they employ that have led us to this sad state of affairs.
