  1. That’s always been the rationale, not much of a secret, they’ve just never been particularly arsed in getting round to it. Maybe if they had we wouldn’t have had this debacle of a decade.
  2. Still think we might have done, by a fortunate coincidence there was a FF on the exact same date last year, 18th July, and we had sold 7,800 then (see screenshot), so a few hundred up seems about right. (🥳 stretch bonuses all round!)
  3. Yeah waste of time, I mean what has the Academy ever done for us, well apart from Wharton, Wharton, Travis, Carter, Buckley, Rankin-Costello, as regulars err, right now…
  4. Not sure about that, only one Test and Trent Bridge (smallest of the remaining Test grounds) was not close to full on any of the days, whereas they were hitting 20k crowds for some of the limited order games. Obviously there is a place for a Test, but it won’t be mirroring the men’s format any time soon.
  5. What do you reckon? 😏 But I suppose at least we’ll get an exact number.
  6. So the club has got stock orders wrong in previous seasons then? You’ve changed your tune, how odd…
  7. Isn’t that skewed by those big one off crowds where they market the hell out of it make it a quid entry etc at the men’s ground? All conquering Chelsea get around 2/3k for most home games, other WSL clubs in the hundreds, very low considering the profile of the game these days. Shows that the club game hasn’t particularly taken off, maybe a WC win will change that.
  8. I can’t believe women’s football isn’t football?
  9. Pissing on the thread? Not at all, but not like you to engage your mouth before your brain - complete opposite of what I’m doing. My point is, The Trust are being too hard of themselves, if it’s a low crowd it isn’t due to any failure of the Trust or any kind of proof cheap tickets don’t work generally, just the age old truth that the vast majority of the fanbase don’t bother with friendlies. It’s a great endeavour, shouldn’t put them off future initiatives and they shouldn’t be disheartened if only 3k trap. P.S - what did I post yesterday? 🤷‍♂️
  10. It’s a July friendly, and Ewood friendlies have always been priced like this. It means absolutely nothing re the viability of future cheap tickets, in fact I’m surprised you are even entertaining the club if they are trying to make out 3/4k for a friendly against a club most fans will only heard of because of cheap Ryanair flights is some kind of failure and proves something or other. As an example - other Ewood friendlies; Everton in 2018 - 4k home fans, Wigan 2015 - 2,900. Stoke - 2014, less than 3k. Girona themselves in 2016? 2,100. A league game and it didn’t move the dial than fair enough. This game?
  11. You are in this particular endeavour, to quote J*B - ‘If this is attended by 2,000 people and nobody uses/gets involved in the pre/post match activities that The Trust, BRFCS, 4,000 Holes and RoversChat are putting time and resource into for free, Rovers will use it as evidence to show that “we’ve done all we can”. The Fans Forum will be told for years that when they allowed fan involvement there was no economic benefit and no additional enjoyment for fans. If it’s attended by 10,000 people, who enjoy, get involved with and spend outside the ground they’ll see what The Trust and BRFCS and others have said for years now. There is something special about Blackburn Rovers Football Club and given an opportunity fans will come back. ‘ A low crowd for this friendly proves nothing other than you get low crowds for pre season friendlies in the summer holidays. It shouldn’t either put you off doing other things or be used by the club to somehow show there’s no interest - it’s a kick about in July a few days before the actual curtain raiser.
  12. Women’s football thread. Having a debate without either posters or the mods clamping down on it gets ever harder on here…
  13. Delete the whole thread?! Fair enough if certain posts cross the line, deal with them appropriately, but an interesting discussion could’ve developed there. Very heavy handed ‘moderation’.
  14. Very poor at Rangers by all accounts and that’s in a side that dominates most games they play.
  15. Women’s football is now heavily marketed and given a lot of prominence in the media, England are European champions… so why is it still that only one man and his dog are going to WSL games (and it’s very cheap too)? Maybe I’m a misogynist too, but in reality I’m a crowd obsessive as you lot obviously will have spotted! So I’m intrigued to why the club game isn’t taking off?
  16. Yeah but think of how much hospitality and bottles of plonk they’ll sell next next week 💰
  17. Making yourselves hostages to fortune by judging ‘success’ on bums on seats. 10k?! We don’t get close to that for FA Cup ties, even some league games (night games). It’s a friendly against very low profile opposition in the peak summer holiday period. Be amazed if more than 3/4k tickets are sold. And that’s not a slight on anybody, the Trust organisers or the fanbase, just how it is for pre season friendlies.
  18. Hasn’t stopped Barca beginning a £1.25 BILLION ground redevelopment…
  19. Presumably it was past the wit of man to charter a flight for the players back from Graz. But surely you would alternatively get them on a coach for an hour for a direct flight from Vienna? Instead of that caper via Frankfurt?
  20. It’s only routine, liking their particular seat/folk around them, the ease of not having to bother getting a ticket every other week etc that keeps the core buying, it is certainly not a cheap option anymore.
  21. Get your point generally TOFT, there is no worry about getting a seat here which drives demand at a lot of other clubs, so if you don’t price them well either then they will obviously struggle to sell - but you didn’t need a season ticket in 1976 either as supply far outstripped demand then too.
  22. Supply and demand, only 6/7 thousand max to sell in a small ground, not a club that has the capacity to sell 20,000+
  23. Garishly colourful vapes quite obviously aimed at kids through ‘influencers’ on TikTok and the like - ergo now absolutely rife in schools.
  24. Sure you always say it ‘shouldn’t be about money’ when a player has the chutzpah to leave Rovers? Oh and didn’t Neville come out with all that before he took the Qatari beIN Sports cash? How did that moral campaign of his go again?
