  1. Who said we should have a deal Leeds’ size?
  2. So we can’t get a good deal because we have an average crowd in our local area of 14,000 not c20,000 - but being shown nationwide on TV every other week with c150,000/200,000 watching still doesn’t impact what we could get at all? Ok.
  3. Somebody said before that ‘if they weren’t vaping they’d be smoking’. Not sure about that, smoking was always very much a minority pastime in schools in recent years, vaping seems to have exploded in popularity - the packaging, the TikTok influencer advertising etc is obviously a big part of that.
  4. Yes relative to the division, what else would it be relative to?
  5. Famous last words again, roverandout 😁
  6. Surely the fact we were on TV considerably more than any other club in the division IS a strong bargaining chip, one that would help to negate being a few thousand down on some clubs in the actual ground, no?
  7. Yeah think I’ll be ok with it.
  8. Excellent, so we won’t run out in October this time and have none for the rest of the season?
  9. Likes a good vape does our Ben, I reckon…
  10. I’ll re-phrase… a lot of the tickets that we do manage to sell.
  11. Sunday being the only day the ticket office is shut, suppose it shows that a lot of tickets are still sold in person…
  12. No, J*B said repeatedly last season that he doesn’t want to go up.
  13. In what way does it have ‘dignity’?
  14. What are the ‘values of our town’ and how would they be ‘compromised’ by playing in a different division? Empty platitudes. The town of Luton certainly won’t be poorer for the experience. ‘The town’ much enjoyed twenty years of Premier League football from what I remember. And even now ‘small’ clubs are doing fine up there. Odd stuff, J*B…
  15. ‘Ewood Park is a jury not a crowd’ 😴 The most sedate place going these days
  16. Yes. He’s done his job.
  17. So just the goal and an assist in a big international away from home then?
  18. Jack took us away from the 80s. Go to other stadiums and even now you realise that the new Ewood was built to a superb standard, so how hard is it to give it a jet wash once in a while? Obviously it all comes from the very top, but there has to be an element of blame for those on the ground - where’s the professional pride?
  19. Hmm, dunno. Maybe something called procurement?
  20. None of it is ‘pointless’, of course the attendances and the pitch are far more important than a less pixelated big screen or a nice pint of a local ale. Getting decent players in and competing for promotion is the most important of all. But my point is it all of it adds to a match day for some. A dilapidated, grubby ground nicely sums up how the club is run away from the football side.
  21. Love how John Howarth gets front and centre there. I’d say he’d have got O’Brien through the door… but then we did mess up another pretty big potential deal for a Forest player in his time!
  22. The City extended highlights were supposed to be on Granada that night, some fella called Martin Tyler was commentating. Obviously it was cancelled on that tragic day and put on at about 1am days later. We recorded it and must have watched it dozens of times, as it was rare to get more than an odd snippet of a goal on the local news in those days (maybe part of the round up on Saint ‘n Greavsie if you were lucky!)
  23. Had a few of those Stella’s, bazza? 😁
