Good bloke, totally wrong appointment. Still had parachutes, plenty of good players. Our last, best chance to get out the division, so they give the gig to a fella that had only coached in youth football.
-
Talking generally, I’ve been here far too long to get offended by anyone on this this place. Only a game and all that. 🙂
-
Why wouldn’t he do his best? He was happy to lose? Didn’t look like it in interviews. His best just wasn’t good enough. There’s enough to go at TM over without coming out with that kind of stuff, just daft.
-
Me neither. But that is due to having owners letting the club stagnate for a decade. Appointing plodding managers and letting them carry on and on is a symptom of that. *It’s called having a discussion, UD, I disagreed with you, if that’s ‘nitpicking’, fair enough - you struggle to do it without flying off the handle and/or getting personal.
-
So it was simply a complete disaster then? Fair enough if you think that a club with an average budget does averagely is a complete disaster. We didn’t just avoid anything under TM, that was kind of how his plodding tenure went.
-
We didn’t just avoid complete disaster then, did we? We were just bumbling along going nowhere in particular with an average/poor (take your choice) manager.

Israel on Wednesday. No channel here has bothered buying the rights. On the UEFA website.
-
The bloke was just an average manager, Occam’s Razor and all that. The rest of it, i.e wanting to lose matches (as that’s how you stay in a league), not trying etc is just brfcs nonsense.
-
So now he wasn’t even ‘doing his best’, ‘didn’t care’, just daft stuff. If you think he was a crap manager, fine, game of opinions. But the rest of it is just bizarre and feeds into this weird relationship this forum (only this forum by the way, seen as a decent manager everywhere else) has with him, MDS indeed…

Manager under contract does job. If that wasn’t deemed good enough then the owners should’ve sacked him. Not his problem they didn’t.

Social Media - discuss

Made me laugh when all the media luvvies were trying to promote a mass move to Mastodon, it will never, ever have the clout of Twitter. -
We are not worthy 🙌

Shame you didn’t follow that approach on the ST thread 🤠

Watching it all unfold on your laptop week after week with that southern social media bloke on comms made me hate it even more…

I am keeping the faith, I’ve enjoyed the positive cricket of the past twelve months, this side obviously isn’t a million a miles away. But I’m also not burying my head in the sand and thinking it is all marvellous, there has been some reckless cricket on display and the Ashes is on the verge of being lost already.
-
I’m going to Old Trafford, so I hope you’re right, but only Don Bradman’s side (in 1937) has overseen a comeback from 2-0 down in the history of the Ashes. So it’s looking very unlikely. *Ha great minds Ewood Ace!

What’s that got to do with this series? Credit where it’s due, criticism where it’s due, that’s professional sport.
-
Yes totally serious, unlike your silly hyperbole. Sensible tactics would have won the first test for starters.
-
Ha classic Jim, can’t even agree without getting a dig in 😄
-
Or Duckett over Warner.
-
‘Traditional’ cricket like not declaring at 390 with one of the world’s best batsman flying?
-
We lose this series to a thumping (and remember we haven’t even lost at all for 22 years) and it’s a failure of the tactics promoted by the coach and captain. It’s a results business (even if those two think it isn’t).
-
We haven’t lost an Ashes series at home for 22 years, if we do so this time it is a failure of the captain and coach. That surely is unarguable?

Civil as always 🙄 No everybody can’t just take a week off with a couple of weeks notice in peak holiday season. What a strange reply.
