Why would it have been? A fairly unknown foreign player who’d briefly been at Rangers signed for a relatively small fee wasn’t going to get the fanbase buzzing - but it wasn’t ‘unpopular’ either.

They may be baker definitions, but in reality any bread roll type thing in Blackburn would be called a tea cake, a barmcake in say, Preston.

Depends what ‘logic’ you are using, certainly not by actual interest. All conquering Chelsea get around 2/3,000 at home games… there’s even clubs in National League N/S (sixth tier) that get bigger gates than that.

I’d honestly never seen it called anything else from a tea cake until I went to Leeds for uni and it was suddenly a ‘bread cake’.
