  1. We see a lot of this coming, unfortunately those running the place never seem to…
  2. I think the club will be happy enough if 14/15k home fans or so turn up. Odd set up, ain’t it…
  3. The pickers n choosers will be missing out on a reight good drink around Preston though…
  4. It’s supply and demand, they can charge £30+ because they’ve around 14k ST holders and so only c4.5k home seats left for their walk ons. We have 9.3k ST holders, and with only 2k of away fans, theoretically nearly 20,000 empty seats, so £30-£35 is a ridiculous price for a Sky midweek game.
  5. They’ve sold the extra too, I believe. A club bang up for it. We need one of those early leads we used to get plenty of before the WC.
  6. Block K has just been added which is one of the end blocks I assumed wasn’t going to be put on sale (I.e why we got 4.5k instead of 5.5k). Have we been given a few more? If not, we must be down to a few hundred.
  7. We aren’t ‘most clubs’. Most clubs don’t have 17/18k empty seats every week. £30 to £35 was only a ‘good’ idea when there was a full DEnd of away support to fleece. With only 2k of them, what are they expecting to see for a midweek Sky game at those prices? As a standard we only ever usually get 4/5k walk ons for Dingle league games (and they are usually at weekends too) so of course with only c9.5k ST holders these days, this was always going to be the outcome. As an example in 2015/16 (our last league game with them at Ewood) there was 19,900 on with 4.5k away fans (so 15,400 home) It should have been £20 and a big push to fill as many of the 23,000 non DE seats as possible, but no, let’s still make it £30-£35 (even though there’s now no big away support to milk) and just expect them to sell themselves as it’s a derby. It’s turning out exactly how a few of us said when they went on sale. Alas, this is what happens when the powers that be fundamentally don’t understand their own fanbase.
  8. Of course rigger’s example is relevant. Folk leave the forces all the time for jobs in the civil sector, you don’t have to try and get a move to the US Marine Corps 😁
  9. Klopp been taking advice from JDT, I see. Trent was popping up everywhere, JRC style, whenever Liverpool were in possession…
  10. IF it’s true, and that’s a big if, surely it’s just a case of him needing to grow up a bit, like many 18 year old lads, I wouldn’t be labelling him as a ‘petulant’ character at this stage.
  11. noun: gossip Casual or unconstrained conversation or reports about other people, typically involving details that are not confirmed as being true.
  12. Make that your last glass, rigger!
  13. Just standard manager speak that wouldn’t even have been picked up on before the dawn of social media.
  14. A slightly increased one for a lad of 22 which he will have jumped at - just like SG (who hasn’t improved but it was still worth the punt by the club).
  15. He had a year of his deal left (notwithstanding the option) so it’s not exactly being wise after the event to say we should’ve been re-signing him up.
  16. Exactly, just Masher being his usual contrarian self.
  17. Ooo burn ! 🙄 He wasn’t pulling up any trees, and I may well have moaned too. But so what, I’m a nomark fan, not a football club protecting its assets. Players who aren’t particularly impressing often sign new contracts, fans then often moan about it, and rightfully the clubs don’t give a toss.
  18. BBD should’ve been signing a new contract in summer 2021, not being sold. (But, but people on brfcs would’ve moaned).
  19. So why was there a net spend of £4million+ in replacing those three players again?
  20. Best close down the forum then…
  21. Who’s linking up with who in this team?
  22. An established Premier League club couldn’t afford an 18 year old from the Championship who’s played a dozen or so games, aye ok.
  23. The club in the 80s thought as big as was feasible - local businessmen doing all they could, and the fact we spent most of the decade knocking on the door of the top flight without a pot to piss in backs that up…contrast that with what these billionaires have overseen.
  24. Mods - Maybe merge this with the Dolan thread already going (page 3)?
