  1. Too right there would have been uproar. But it ultimately doesn’t matter if fans are upset over a sale. If that’s the model, that’s the model.
  2. ‘Siri, sum up the Venky reign in a sentence’.
  3. £219 season tickets (our half STs cost more).
  4. Kaminsky, Pickering, Ayala, Hyam and JRC is a ‘threadbare’ defence?
  5. Plenty of the support says it too. Unfortunately the club’s narrative of ‘we’ve done all we can, unfortunately we’ve no fans, so FFP’ has pulled the wool over the eyes of many to the club’s incompetence over contracts and transfers.
  6. *Given a load of support on the terraces.
  7. ‘We can’t spend owt because of our shit crowds’ etc
  8. https://www.bwfc.co.uk/news/2023/january/update-wanderers-pitch-plan/ Third division club with not exactly loaded owners can do it. Our billionaires on the other hand…
  9. ‘The club’ has spoken about selling players on for profit for a good few years now. This wasn’t a brand new direction for it when it was flagged up in a podcast last week. You believe it has only been failure thus far because of Tony Mowbray, so with GB at the helm I’m looking forward to now finally becoming this fabled ‘ROI’/trading model club.
  10. So the model’s the same, but difference now is we have this professional sounding and competent fella in charge, so he won’t allow these things to keep happening going forward? I’ll be delighted to see it as I don’t want any more FFP and ‘skint’ sob stories when there has been tens of millions of talent walking out the door for nowt…
  11. So that’s Lenihan, Rothwell, Nyambe, BBD and (probably) Dack leaving for a total of £0. I’m sure I’ve been hearing about ‘the model’ for 2/3 years now so just a bit of a failure then thus far. But of course we all have to forget about all that and pretend that ‘the ROI model’ is only just kicking in now. Must think we came down in the last shower…
  12. Tenner a ticket, fair enough. And they’ve closed the Riverside to start with, so at least no weeks of hand wringing à la the Forest game.
  13. Buy cheap, sell give away cheaper. ‘The model’.
  14. Would the brigade be incorrect to point that out?
  15. That’s the talk of an Academy director whose job it is to improve and develop youngsters for onward progression into full pro squads, the results on the pitch of the development teams is not the be-all and end-all… however they kind of are in first team professional football.
  16. So playing Vale and Garrett on a regular basis is undoubtedly the correct decision, and not playing Adam Wharton on a regular basis is also the correct decision… now I wonder why that could be? 🤷‍♂️
  17. I didn’t realise how far out of the loop with the PL I was until the World Cup, loads of players involved who I didn’t even know played in England until the commentators mentioned it…
  18. He’s about to turn 27 and would be asking for a, *shock horror*, 3 year contract, the cheek of it! So that’s all GB’s red flags in one!
  19. You are being very salty this morning, Sweaty. 😁 And I was responding to his view on this season in that it would be a bloody unbelievable achievement with these players. You are quite right, a couple more windows and we may be in a better place to challenge, happy to wait and see what’s behind GB’s management consultant spiel…
  20. He says it will be an achievement this season, no?
  21. I would class Peter Thorne as pre academy as he was around the squad from the early 90s, but generally we are scraping the barrel here. We have had nothing at all for 20 years. Very noticeable dearth of talent in that position compared to everywhere else.
  22. It would be a fantastic achievement with this squad of players, which is why it won’t happen as over 46 games they ain’t good enough…
  23. Of course, but to not even produce one that has been a fixture in our first team in 25 years? Bit of a poor do for a Cat 1 academy…
  24. Not at all, just the general vibe of the transfer thread on Friday night as plenty of folk were enthralled by a load of managerial speak. Whereas he comes across as extremely naive to the realities of Championship football to me…
