  1. 1864 and darren RN…
  2. 233 pages of speculation and hand wringing… and then, as always, a load of loans will come in last minute.
  3. I know all that, doesn’t mean they aren’t glory hunters, as they wouldn’t have thousands of fans in every town if they had never got any bigger than Queen’s Park or Partick, whatever the history.
  4. Blackburn town centre was a sight, they opened up the Cav before the game… at least there were plenty of places for a sup back then!
  5. We won’t be throwing 6/7 in, obviously! I’m just responding to JBN’s hypothetical view that he wouldn’t be worried about relegation if we did… I would!
  6. Of course we should, and will, be blooding more youngsters. But they have to be helped along with experienced pros, that’s just how it is in top level football. For all their ability, a team needs that nous, game management and sometimes physical presence, as some young lads develop physically later, that only experience provides. The fact we are even having this conversation says a lot to how nature abhors a vacuum…
  7. Maybe because unless a club is in severe financial distress, in administration etc, most clubs don’t start a season in the Championship with the team made up of 6/7 players plucked out the youth team.
  8. Easy enough selling out a 50/60k ground when pretty much every town in Scotland is full of glory hunters in either blue or green and white hooped shirts instead of their local club’s…
  9. He’d still be here now if back in 2018 his agent had wrangled a contract to June 2023 instead of June 2022.
  10. The only similarity he has with John Williams is that he is a very gregarious character, you can see evidence of that in the way he works the room in the Premier Suite etc. Those that have met him one on one say similar. So I can certainly see how he can send people away feeling positive about the club’s direction… however JW actually had a track record behind the bravado, this fella has overseen one shambles after another and no amount of good natured corporate waffle and bluster can hide that fact.
  11. He must put something in the coffee…
  12. ‘Venky’s’ is a chicken brand used by the VH Group, a conglomerate owned by the Rao family (Venky’s London Limited being the vehicle owning BRFC). Like saying ‘The WalkersSteels just bought Alan Shearer’
  13. Damo isn’t, he’s been ranting about that all summer
  14. Same time next year?
  15. Ok… 2,000 ST holders won’t buy 1875 so the criteria will drop down to all ST holders.
  16. Are you just not looking at outdated Ts and Cs? The club are never exactly switched on to updating those kinds of things.
  17. Yep. You get 2,500-ish for Burnley, but as there’s no chance 2,500 ST holders are going to also buy 1875 membership, there’s literally no point getting it as the qualifying criteria for a Dingle ticket will obviously drop down to all ST holders.
  18. Only the four Cat A games get the reduction, I believe. So they can still charge top whack to the Dingles/PNE etc away support without completely ripping off home fans.
  19. He’s obviously on the wind up today for some reason as he himself has been enormously ‘negative’, to use his barometer, all summer on the season ticket thread. But I’ll bite. A percentage of football fans moan and groan constantly at grounds, it’s not a Rovers thing. Go and sit with any other set of fans or read any other clubs forums or social media interactions, that’s fandom. And it’s the fans fault is it for the empty seats? Maybe a decade of decline and season tickets for second division football in a town like Blackburn priced at £429 to £529 for any potential new fans might have something to do with it, maybe…
  20. I’m still non the wiser as how someone being ‘negative’ (and if they even are being is subjective anyway) on an obscure message board impacts the team and manager in any way…
  21. Thought you’d be the last person extrapolating brfcs to the actual fanbase! Of course the vast, vast majority of fans will get behind them (a tiny minority will boo and jeer, they always do). There was hardly even a murmur of dissent as we threw away a once in a decade opportunity last season, so without doubt a team of young lads will get full backing.
  22. But unless we know how many folk are buying QPR tickets, what’s the point? Cracking job by Gooze, but it obviously can’t work when there’s more than one ticket event on sale utilising the same ticket map.
  23. Hmm, 200+ today when it’s been a handful in recent days? Are we not running into problems now QPR match tickets are on sale? I.e if a person had just bought three tickets for that game today, they’ll be grey dots on the ST map, won’t they? As you obviously shouldn’t be able to buy a ST for seats that match ticket buyers have already bought. So the figures are now being skewed, no?
  24. I don’t agree or disagree, how could I possibly have an opinion of the job a football manager is doing before he’s managed a game?
