  1. Jeff holding back the smirk on 0:12 there…
  2. Great stuff Herbie. Real football city is Sheffield, even when both clubs are outside the top flight (way outside in SWFC’s case) they still muster 50000+ crowds between them. Yet, as a place it gets zero recognition as such, in contrast to those two other similar cities that happen to just have the one club, but are deemed as unique hotbeds of passion.
  3. Didn’t realise potential support is now judged on the size of the 1970s created, arbitrary council area a club happens to be based in.
  4. No, he said the club had told him they were flying out. A quick look on the map will obviously tell you otherwise. Always good to have ITK-ers on, but just making stuff up that can easily be proved wrong is a bit odd…
  5. He also said tickets were flying out, also BS. Think he needs a new mole…
  6. You’re just picking games we won months ago, what a daft argument.
  7. Two defeats in three league games so far. Far too early to call it an ‘excellent appointment’ with that start to his reign and overall track record.
  8. His lad just turned up on loan there too…
  9. We largely ‘always found a way’ between mid November and the new year. We’ve ‘not found a way’ on many occasions before or since.
  10. Surely he can’t work on ‘assumptions’? He has to take the conditions for what they are? But that would back up my point re delay it for an hour. One for arbito…
  11. It is what it is. But you can’t have a inspection passed, ‘GAME ON’ and all that, when obviously the ref wasn’t entirely satisfied at that point. Why couldn’t it been announced Cricket style, I.e ‘the referee will have a further inspection at x o’clock’, or just delay the first inspection?
  12. Would it make a difference here? Impossible to say. I suppose. However, the question to ask is why do the vast majority of clubs have STs on sale way before we usually get round to it well into the the close season if there was no benefit to those clubs?
  13. It would be 10k otherwise yes, as we were seeing for weekend games pre Sheff Utd and the charge up the table, so that’s why I’m not particularly vexed with the crowds this season, they have improved markedly in recent months, but obviously from such a low base they still don’t exactly look anything to write home about. For me it is all about next season and ensuring that those that have re-acquainted themselves with Ewood over the last three months are firmly back in the tent whatever division we end up in.
  14. No arguments there, with only 8k ST holders, you just aren’t getting more than said 13k/14k for standard games, even when sitting 3rd.
  15. We have 8000 STs, so that’s 22000 remaining seats, so you not expecting to see a shed load of blue dots for a game in February?
  16. Oh definitely, it’s like when they do bundles that cover night games, straight away you are putting off folk that can’t or won’t do evening KOs for a plethora of reasons. Scary lack of nous at the club.
  17. It is odd, because said folk spouting off on Twitter will personally know fans that due to other commitments and hobbies will go to a game when they can. I certainly do. I doubt they call those people ‘shit fans’, its just a term they seem to chuck around at the collective fanbase.
  18. Most fans wouldn’t understand why some offers do work, and some don’t, they aren’t sad bastards like me forensically looking at take up, so I don’t blame them for that reaction, seems a perfectly good offer on paper. It’s the club however that bloody well should know and previous FF minutes show the club do know very well bundles are a waste of time, so hopefully at Tuesday’s meeting they’ll explain the rationale for attempting it yet again, when others clubs offer very simple cheap ticket deals..
  19. Obviously Huddersfield don’t mind incurring said wrath as their game against Sheff Utd is £5 a ticket next week.
  20. They shouldn’t have bothered with anything in the midst of winter. In 2001 all the cheap ticket offers (no strings offers, £10 a ticket anywhere for a couple of games) were all in the run in. Business end of the season, momentum building, much better weather Alas, the club is no longer run by the esteemed folk of twenty years ago, actual ‘football men’, who understood the fanbase, unlike the fella laughably described as one on here the other day.
  21. It’s exactly how it was expected, but it is still a failure, you don’t do a ticket deal and have it selling only in three figures the day before the game. Bad idea, poorly executed. Back to the drawing board Swag.
  22. Nuttall’s posts sound to me that he is only just re-invigorating himself with all things Rovers after a long hiatus post 90s…
  23. I agree with Tyrone. The likes of Wilcox, Pearce, Super Atko had done us well, but they were still the weaker links of the team and to stay at the top needed replacing as first team regulars with superior footballers. Ferguson was a master at spotting when a team had run its course and replaced those weaker links. He did it in 1995, he did it again in the early 2000s and then again late 2000s.
  24. Matt Jansen was still fairly raw when he was bought in ‘99, but he was a top level forward by 2001 and 2002 and would’ve been an England regular if he hadn’t have had that trip to Rome, that plonker Sven picking Martin bloody Keown over him for WC 2002 and then never even gave him one minute on the pitch!
  25. I’ve no problem with it being open generally, why not. My issue is with yet another bundle offer, an offer that has failed time and time again. The club just doesn’t seem to grasp what works and what doesn’t here, bizarre really when they possess all the data.
