  1. Speak for yourself! 😁
  2. As tomphil says. Ewood has been so sedate and so empty for so long, the club seem to be struggling to cope with a sustained increase in numbers (and not that big an increase) and the raucousness that goes with being at the top end of the table…. Christ knows how’d they’d cope in the PL.
  3. This must be the slowest building of a stand in history!
  4. I suppose those that have already booked trains will still go. Plus, there haven’t been too many aways in the south east recently (only Luton and that sold out sharpish), so I imagine plenty of the London Branch and other southern based fans will still be there.
  5. Quick look at wiki, 68 caps! He wouldn’t have got near the Ireland squad twenty years ago. Been a rough few years for you boys!
  6. Think some on here are getting as obsessed with the council border as the club. If you live in places like Wilpshire, Salesbury, you can count on this list!
  7. A decade ago Dyche would’ve long gone to a West Ham, Everton, Villa etc, alas clubs like that no longer touch managers like him with a barge pole. Which has been an enormous stroke of luck for that lot…
  8. Not the impression I’ve got reading around forums since the appointment, they aren’t exactly jumping for joy, but they know he’s a canny operator at this level.
  9. I know, but it is also still in the Blackburn post town along with Great Harwood and Langho.
  10. Both are part of the Blackburn post town, so that’s good enough for me.
  11. ‘It was a case of practically picking the same team for those games, winning the majority of them. The team started breaking up a little bit and the results swung a little bit.‘ That’s right, they have, and he has actually realised it himself, shows that with an actual prize at stake instead of bumbling around in mid table the constant experimentation gets put on the back burner - so no going back to bad habits and tinkering for tinkering’s sake (I.e Zeefuik for RN), please.
  12. Oh aye, you want the keeper to be fishing the ball out the back of his net, not having it bounce straight out!
  13. Ok, we won’t bother mentioning Berg or Appleton. But he’s a worse manager than Kean or Harford or Kidd? Come off it!
  14. Scott Wharton and Leighton Clarkson just this season.
  15. Must be a Football Cliches podcast in this …
  16. Two good posts from you two, these things are never as simple as some of the social media fanboys who want to ‘build the man a statue’, or some of the completely OTT stuff you see on here; ‘absolutely terrible manager, I’d drive him back to Teesside myself’ try to make out. However on Swag, working in the game for a few years doesn’t make you a ‘football man’. His still complete lack of knowledge of the club’s fanbase is testament to that. Though it is something you can learn in the job, look at John Williams. A better person to have in situ than the likes of those snakes Shaw and Agnew? Or an accountant like Cheston trying to run the whole place? Yes, but that’s a pretty low bar…
  17. Paul Gallagher and Matt Derbyshire both went to my school, Our Lady’s, so they count for me! (Gally was born in Glasgow but his family moved to Blackburn as a young kid).
  18. QPR the week after is 12:30, Millwall is 3pm.
  19. Too big for who? As an also ran in this division, perhaps, but considering even under Kean our average PL crowd was around 23,000, I’d say that’s obviously not the case for a club with aspirations of promotion.
  20. Those who largely (not exclusively) don’t attend as walk ons, as the lapsed ST holder and the walk on are largely (not exclusively) two distinct groups. Walk ons tend to stay that way year in year out as that’s how they prefer to consume games. I’m going to leave it here, the figures are there for you to pursue at your leisure, and I imagine this is boring the pants off everybody else.
  21. Of course it’s progression on last season. Though it obviously isn’t something that has been happening year on year, last season was a big regression. The Championship is a difficult league for incremental improvements anyway, most clubs are losing a good chunk of their team every year. I’m happy to have a season out of nowhere like this as next term could be very different … which is why we must not throw it away cheaply.
  22. Well we haven’t seen ‘progression season upon season’, as before this term’s, obvious improvement, we’d finished 15th, 11th, 15th in full Championship seasons under TM. The absolute definition of treading water in a division.
  23. I’ve never been one to go on about refs, I always saw it as you win some, you lose some with decisions, the famous ‘even each other out over a season’, I thought it sour grapes to blame officials after defeats. However, I agree, this season the standard has noticeably declined, abysmal game after game.
  24. From the fanbase, where else? Just like anytime you increase ST holders, where will all the extra numbers come from on promotion?
