  1. Well the crowd has been fantastic from minute 1 of the Sheff Utd game, even after going a goal down and all the potential for them to turn post the Fulham debacle. Great support, and the best possible riposte to all the nonsense you read about ‘negative’, ‘crap’ fans at Ewood.
  2. Though if say 6k buy a ticket for tonight then that’s not to be sniffed at, double a normal weekend game walk on. Would’ve have led to a good gate if we still had 10k+ ST holders… but we now have nowhere near. ’Lower number of ST holders, lower crowds’ is ALWAYS how it works here (though a certain long standing poster was consistently accusing me of ‘nonsense’ when I warned of this is in the summer…)
  3. We’ll be nowhere near 20k and that’s not because we won’t be selling a good number of tickets for tonight, we will, but it’s purely down to (as I keep saying!) the fact we’ve so few ST holders left, and those walk ons can’t hide that fact.
  4. Just looks a bloke well out of his depth (so yeah, SK-esque nonsense comes to the fore).
  5. That the same Barnsley who saw a big increase in ST sales in the summer on the back of a play off campaign? Winning games brings fans back… who knew!
  6. Doesn’t look like it… https://www.skysports.com/championship-fixtures
  7. No it wouldn’t, the FA are the governing body of the English game, why do the FA suspend, charge PL players with misconduct etc, if that league has ‘nothing to do with the FA’?
  8. If this game had been yesterday I’d have imagined a big crowd, you can see that across the pyramid when non league clubs were recording double/treble their standard gates. However, our game is at night, they will bring very few and it isn’t a bank holiday (though obviously plenty of folk take this whole week off, kids aren’t in school etc). So we’ll see. Another highly annoying thing from a Rovers perspective about this Covid scare is that it could well have put the breaks on half ST sales, just as momentum was building, as quite understandably, a couple of weeks ago would many have wanted to commit when it seemed that BCD was incoming?
  9. Another PL match day… also another match day with a shed load of penalties given - one in every game today.
  10. Unlikely, but this is the bling world of the Raos. A sudden ostentatious gesture purely because the glamorous world of PL is on the horizon after a decade of not taking the remotest interest isn’t that much of a stretch when it comes to this lot…
  11. They are picking Crawley on ‘potential’, not runs in the CC - he’s got a first class average of 30!
  12. What a load of nonsense. Rovers fans are no better or worse than any other. Some clubs just happen to have more bums on seats than others due to demographics, catchment areas etc, how on earth you can judge Rovers fans as ‘less passionate’ is beyond me. As for ‘atmosphere’, you obviously don’t go to many away games, as Ewood in no different than the vast majority of grounds. The PNE game had a crackling atmosphere, especially in the Blackburn End, but if you chose to sit in the emptiest stand, why are you surprised that it wasn’t rocking in there? And as for that bizarre stuff about the 90s, If you honestly preferred to see the club you were supposedly ‘fanatical’ about followed by one man and his dog than see the fantastic club of ours with 25,000 crowds and winning major trophies, then, well, what can you even say to that?!
  13. I’ve never called for his head, as plodding along season after season has fit with what the present incarnation of ‘the club’ seems to be content with. Objectively he’s done fine, some of the nonsense about him being a ‘terrible manager’ was always silly. I’ve never for a second expected him to leave before his contract ran out, why would the owners and SW want the bother of a managerial hunt? So I’ve never really given his position much thought, my ire has always been pointed at the carpet baggers running the club in such a tin pot way. He would’ve have gone at a normal club last season, no question, but we aren’t one, so in a warped way, the detached ownership model and ever changing budgets we have here, gives managers time and space to get stupid ideas and systems out of their head, I.e. SG constantly out wide, the ‘possession game’ that obviously didn’t suit the squad we had etc etc, and can do total 180s of teams and tactics. I do think we’ll fall away, due to a combination of TM’s team’s tendency to lose form in the second half of the season and a small squad, but with a chance to to go into the new year, at a club that I still feel is shambolic in many areas, top of the Championship, then of course, a new contract would have every right to be offered.
  14. Not always kids… always on a section of an Amazon 📦 too 😁
  15. Fair play to you for picking up my baton on that one! 😁
  16. Pretty sure Fylde are fully pro, which made it very embarrassing for them to end up in National North when their plan was to be in the EFL for 2022.
  17. Good effort considering all the Covid shenanigans, Sky coverage and no public transport.
  18. Thank Christ I don’t go into that thread 😁
  19. Good god (!) Didn’t realise the measures contained within the Coronavirus Act was akin to a belief system, but 👌
  20. Amazing that two years on that you still take the pronouncements of politicians at face value. There won’t be a vote, if stadiums are to to BCD, they’ll go BCD and that’s that.
  21. They were extended in October to March next year.
  22. Bit upset you wouldn’t take me at my word, 😢 , but there you go - Section 52, page 35. https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/1019668/coronavirus-act-2020-ninth-two-monthly-report.pdf
  23. They aren’t new measures, in contrast to vaccine passports, so are already covered by the Coronavirus Act.
