  1. Possibly any manoeuvring from TM is for this Pasha character’s benefit, as he’s their ‘man on the ground’ (or he was pre Plague). You can only imagine how the structures and decision making processes of the club have become even more opaque through this last 12 months.
  2. The money that has been thrown at the club since 2012 and for us to have pretty much been anchored to mid table in the second division (at best) for the duration whilst the infrastructure of the club has been run down is insane. More fool the owners, I suppose, if they are not demanding much more in the way of outcomes, but Christ what could we have achieved if the club had been run in a far less dysfunctional way this past decade...
  3. Relatively speaking, of course...
  4. It really isn’t nonsense, it’s all relative, if you don’t understand that, then fair enough.
  5. Who said Donny? Try the Sunderlands who are paying £10/15k+ a week to some players. Accy pay what, less than 1k a week? Of course it’s not nonsense, neither is the fact that clubs out perform their competitors all the time, at every level and will continue to do so - we won’t because the club is not set up to outperform its resources, many other clubs are.
  6. Because Accy’s budget is a fraction of the big clubs in that league (as was Wycombe’s). Pretty simple comparison, really.
  7. How are Accy competing for promotion to the Championship against some very big football clubs then? How are Leicester competing for the title? How did Wycombe end up in the Championship? How do Burnley stay up year after year? Take it you meant to say ‘Not only do we not have the budget of relegated and parachute clubs, we are also a dysfunctionally run football club, so we’ll bite yer hand off for top half’.
  8. Put the forum in the bag and move on.
  9. That would say we have stood still on last season, even though it seemed like we had made some decent acquisitions and didn’t sell any of our top performers. So I suppose it depends on what your expectations are.
  10. The club needs to decide what it is then. Are we now going down the ‘data’ route - easier said then done, I imagine Brentford are going to be oft imitated without much reward, or are we going to remain at the whim of one man, who if he leaves takes a load of the club infrastructure with him. If it’s a halfway house with competing little empires there’s only going to be one loser.
  11. Bolton away 2001 (4-1 win) was one of the coldest I can remember....
  12. Which Venky has been watching MoneyBall then? Can’t be Balaji, surely...
  13. Feel like I can remember at least something from every game between ‘91 and about ‘98. Yet if you asked me about a game from last season I’d struggle..
  14. I was there... as was my dad who you can see celebrating (bald head, yellow and black away shirt, 1:06).
  15. Today’s Times... ‘Rising star of the week - Ben Whiteman (Preston). Only three games into his Championship career after a move from Doncaster Rovers, the 24 year old midfielder is already showing signs he has the ability to play at an even higher level’ Anyone know much about him?
  16. Unreal he got a new 5 year deal last season after foundering in L1.
  17. “He’s back... and he’s done it”
  18. Always remember Shearer being nursed back at the start of 1993/94, spent a fair few games just coming off the bench and he had only been out about half the time of Dack.
  19. Kean-out esque front page editorial from the Ipswich local rag (who knows their version might actually make a blind bit of difference). https://www.ipswichstar.co.uk/sport/ipswich-town/eadt-ipswich-star-say-paul-lambert-should-go-7068372
  20. Top player, end of, people that know the game said so.
  21. It really wasn’t, as he wouldn’t have been sacked with a draw (or defeat).
  22. His 4 year anniversary is coming up, so I’m looking forward to a good run of results into mid Feb... the LT will be doing a pull out.
  23. But then it’s Sky money that makes up the majority of Championship club’s cash flow...
  24. On the BBC website... If there is one man who is synonymous with red shirt of Middlesbrough, then it's Tony Mowbray. Redcar-born, seemingly hewn from the iron ore which was mined at nearby Eston, and granite tough.’ I reckon we don’t make enough of his roots.
  25. There’s even folk mumbling about Dyche every time that lot lose a game... you know he who just ended a three year unbeaten Anfield home record and has completely transformed a club in the doldrums for decades (one year aside). TM has it bloody easy here, be it from those ‘above’ or supporters.
