  1. Any of the owd timers on here remember Boggiano ice cream? Was my Great Grandmas family, they came over from Genoa around 1900.
  2. End of the day, if we ‘welcome them’ or not, it’s their club, our feelings don’t come into it (though a nice divisive click bait article from Lancs Live nevertheless). They’ve been free to actually sit in those seats for a decade now, yet unlike 99% of owners they have chosen not to, so it’s all a pointless debate that goes round in circles.
  3. Always amazes me how many Dingles are in Rishton. Literally on our doorstep... BB1 postcode FFS! It’s a great move by Holt and weakens the connection the younger generation has with Rovers in the process.
  4. I would hope so, as if we can’t rely on a big support from Hyndburn ,with the decline of our support in large parts of Blackburn, we are in big trouble.
  5. 20 years ago Rovers fans and shirts were everywhere in Accy. Is that the case now? I doubt it (though Accy residents on here can confirm) . And are we even still the main club in other long standing Rovers strongholds in the borough? Ossy etc?
  6. His confidence is in pieces out wide. He’s not a great centre forward by any means, but he can do a job, especially as a sub. I just cannot fathom what TM is playing at with him continually shunting him out there.
  7. Considering he’s contracted until 2023 that’s some deadweight!
  8. The club wouldn’t appoint such clowns again as we’ve had ‘optimum owners since 2017’, haven’t we?
  9. Arnie Whiteside... so that’s who Grealish models himself on
  10. Last gasp with a 4 year deal to boot...
  11. I don’t want to sound like a broken record, but you can all ‘give him until x’, it doesn’t matter as there’s not a chance he’s going anywhere this season. He’s got a deal for another season after this and he’ll see his contract out (staring relegation in the face would be the only possible exception).
  12. “There was no intention to get him any game-time this soon” Surely your sub keeper has to be ready to play at a moments notice? Jam tomorrow.
  13. More importantly, what happened to Bigdogg?
  14. Had a shocking start to the season though, Chorley. Relegated and now bottom of National North.
  15. Two more games called off for Accy following on from Saturday and tonight.
  16. BB was ‘player of the weekend’ in today’s Times.
  17. He actually played a few PL and cup games for Fulham two seasons ago as a 15 year old.
  18. I’m talking generally, not particularly to you islander. But actually more towards the daft stuff I keep reading that makes out Rovers fans (and bizarrely Lancastrians specifically) are worse than anybody else. It’s dead simple, come to any club for big money and be really poor for two years, you’ll get at least grumbling and a few dickheads being abusive and totally out of order. The difference is Rovers fans generally have been really supportive and it hasn’t *on the whole* got any stronger than grumbling, I’ve been surprised just how much we’ve been behind him, as it shows how the fanbase has mellowed in recent years and BB would have copped much worse at many other clubs.
  19. The average crowds were 25,000. So at that time it was anything but ‘poor support’ from a town like Blackburn. The Venky destruction since has nothing to do with the point I was making. Though crowds of 13,000 or so in recent years is fine considering the wrecking ball of the Kean era (we would not have lost so many ‘PL fans’ without that debacle, we didn’t in 1999-2001) and a decade of mediocrity, we’ve largely been in the bottom half of the Championship (and a year in the third division) for the last 5 years.
  20. Always been a strand of our support like this. In the PL days you always used to hear ‘shit are Rovers fans’, ‘gates are poor’. Even though we were the best supported club in the country by population, a town with challenging demographics of 100,000 with average crowds of 25,000. ‘Poor?’ It was fantastic support. But what chance do you have trying to negate Dingle nonsense like ‘not a football town, Blackburn’ when your own fans constantly belittle themselves.
  21. Like how Mogga has a keeper version of ‘he’s got his boots on and is on the grass’
  22. Again, of course there are a minority of dickheads. Especially away when folk have been on the piss all day. I’ve heard all kind of bollocks shouted out over the years. Social media is a modern example of it. But, on the whole, BB has been well supported by the fanbase as he went through a really tough couple of years... amazed this is even a debate and people can’t separate a small number of idiots from a entire fanbase.
  23. So I take it after two years of really poor performances after a £7 million deal, he wouldn’t be receiving anything as vicious as ‘tuts’ and ‘sighs’ like the bear pits of Lancashire anywhere else?
  24. That’s football fans, there will always be a minority of dickheads, I’ll tell you now he would not have got the level of goodwill he’s had here after being so poor for two years at a lot of other clubs - I’m proud of our support on that score.
