  1. Brfcs is representative of the fanbase now? Good one that Joe!
  2. Obviously you didn’t read my post, I was replying to S8 stating what he’s heard at away games, of course people come out with shit at Ewood too, I’ve been listening to it since I was about 5 years old, but on the whole, the fanbase has been behind him
  3. You ever thought about going into motivational speaking, Paul?
  4. Of course it does. But you can’t judge a fanbase by the rantings of a few pissed up imbeciles at away games (many of whom never step foot in ‘shit’ Ewood). However, as a whole, the crowd has been great with him and I was proud of us for that.
  5. Looks well for going out on loan playing first team football for a couple of seasons against hard nosed forwards, a right of passage for many a young centre half - though some believed he ‘just wasn’t good enough’ for doing just that.
  6. What’s that got to do with the BBC?
  7. Considering he’s ‘all about the positives’, he’s being very belittling and negative of Blackburn Rovers. Apart from the mid 60s to mid 70s, this past decade has been the only one in our history where we haven’t either spent time in the top flight or been challenging at the top end of the second tier to get back there.
  8. Can you point me to the TM quotes? I remember many of us presumed that was the case, as it was the only thing that made sense, ‘the model’, English premium, chance of flipping for profit etc, but I’m struggling to envision Balaji or whoever actually sitting down with the manager and being that strategic...
  9. ‘Slight setback’ with his hamstring so won’t play tomorrow - wasn’t just an unfounded rumour then... https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/18898737.on-verge---tony-mowbray-delivers-bradley-dack-update/
  10. It’s not that he goes for goal repeatedly, why not, and he’s pretty accurate when he gets a shot away. It’s more that it often takes him an age to wind up for a shot, giving defenders chance to throw themselves into a block.
  11. Neil Yardley is a proper Rovers man, can nobody remember the boring bastard that did commentary before him around the millennium time? Plus, since the Venky induced cuts has led to a scrapped RoverVision and Radio Rovers he pretty much runs the media side on his own. Just watch him at an Ewood match day - he does the preamble, reads out the teams etc from pitch side, then he’s up to the stand doing 1st half commentary, then back down to the pitch doing MC stuff and half time raffles, then back up doing the 2nd half, then post match interviews. Not sure he needs the Sussex sidekick but good luck to him.
  12. They lost the plot late on with some nasty little challenges, ‘leaving a bit on the player’ - they looked like lower leagues cloggers, let’s hope that’s where they end up.
  13. Was it you skinning up behind me?
  14. Happens a lot here. Bell and Williams missed the post lockdown warm up friendly at Liverpool, but were ‘only a few days away’... didn’t see them until the new season in September.
  15. Loved Scotty, but better than Duff? Never!
  16. Same could be the said of the ‘92 and 2001 sides - but imagine this lot in the PL.
  17. He’ll go when he’s had enough on his own terms. Remember that and it will save you all a lot of pointless angst.
  18. I’ve worked with plenty of that lot in my time. They still say to each other on a Monday - ‘did you go on?’
  19. This present side ain’t fit to clean the boots of their 1992 or 2001 predecessors. That’s why I had to laugh with some of the ridiculous claims of ‘ToP 2’ after we’d just had 3 put past us at Watford.
  20. We used to hear all the same tripe from Dingles, then they actually made the promised land and now they struggle to sell 18,000 home seats.
  21. Apart from the away end, Cambridge’s ground is exactly the same.
  22. Certainly not seeing the relegated PL sides struggling as per usual this time - Norwich and Bournemouth top two, with Watford only a point behind. Suppose it shows just how weak the rest of the league is this season...
  23. The international break, unfortunately, was inadvertently badly timed to coincide with the ‘anniversary’, it meant the LT had loads of blank space day after day to fill with ‘drawer stories’.
  24. I’d agree that they are rarely mentioned unless prompted. I’d say we are the Mowbray Club now more than anything, I can’t recall a time where one figurehead seemingly dominates all aspects of the club (well maybe Jack) and conversation between fans - enduringly popular too. Though perhaps not surprising due to the power vacuum this regime has created within a hollowed out club.
