  1. That’s me off social media for a while... well until 5pm on Sunday.
  2. Third of the gate the U23s had against City at Ewood. Nice one LFA!
  3. Thought charging a tenner for a youth game was taking the piss.
  4. I thought the new ground had been scrapped for the foreseeable?
  5. Brighton have an enormous and affluent catchment area to themselves. However, theres no reason why northern club’s can’t match Bournemouth or Watford, they have standard crowds of 10,000 and 19,000.
  6. Not the point you are making, but a fine example of how Rovers MUST engage outside the borough of BwD, as more and more of our support now lives outside the town of Blackburn. My own group of mates from school are another example, out of about 10, two still live in Blackburn and one of them is about to move. Surely the club's database must tell them that but they don't seem to have grasped it.
  7. The county palatine of Lancashire is the heartland of the game. North east doesn’t come close.
  8. Remember when you lot used to call us ‘bandwagon jumpers’?
  9. Sympatheticclaret - Considering you attract support from Blackburn’s border all the way into Yorkshire, any ideas why you struggled to attract five figure crowds when Dyche first took over?
  10. Well yes, but it seems to be much more prevalent than it was. Maybe it’s my paranoia as we spend more and more time in a lower division.
  11. Out of interest, in places like Ossy and Rishton, literally on Blackburn’s border there seems to be far too many Dingles for my liking. Yet I get the impression if you went to say Colne or Padiham you wouldn’t find too many Rovers fans. Any reason why apart from folk wanting to escape Dingleville?
  12. Reminded me a little of Scholes when he crunched into a few tackles.
  13. Think a similar thing happens at Milwall and Sheff Wed, as they also have away fans in the upper and an empty bottom tier. Agree it must be a pretty crap experience for them.
  14. My point being, if away fans started this season in the bottom tier Riverside half, that left the JW side empty for Rovers fans. It was a cost saving measure, or Waggott really was daft enough to think half of the second division was going to be bringing 6,000 away fans. Though considering they are now opening both tiers of it every game (bottom tier for disabled away fans), I’m not sure what’s going on.
  15. Earlier in the season away fans were in the Riverside half of the bottom tier anyway...
  16. The one’s he thinks can step up, of course, get games at a higher level. The one’s that aren’t good enough are moved on. Fairly obvious Smallwood was a lower league battler, nowt wrong with that, he did a good job in League 1, but you must be ruthless, ‘deserve’ doesn’t come into it.
  17. ‘Fellow Blues’ etc. Not as common as ‘Rover’, but acceptable.
  18. Where’s Mulgrew going to go? Probably highest paid player (or one of) at the club and contracted till 2021.
  19. Load of pissed up Rovers ‘lads’ sucking up to the opposition fans singing ‘fuck the Pope’ etc.
  20. Certainly not the case in his first season. I was told repeatedly at Ewood by a sizeable number of people that he would have us ‘playing football the right way’ and how delighted they were that ‘long ball bastard’ had gone. Even early in season 2, I was ridiculed by a load of folk around me for marching - for example the Arsenal home game in which we nabbed a late winner and I had people in my face ‘what about your shit protest now? Get behind the club’ Never forget? I haven’t.
  21. It’s difficult because a lot of the folk who were in the Darwen End were not acquainted with each other so the stand closed and that was that, some went to the Jack Walker, some to the Blackburn End. The club could help with the organisation, just like at dozens of other clubs that now have a designated singing section.
  22. He also said it hasn’t stopped people coming down on the day, so just a rip off of those folk. Our gates hardly vary week to week so it can’t be rocket science to estimate it!
  23. Dinosaur? Anything but, that’s the folk that still see them as ‘little owd Stanley’ knocking about in the Unibond League. They are now a highly professional outfit and are taking support away from us. I personally know about 5 Rovers lads that have decided they are now Accy fans and are Clayton End ‘Ultras’. The free shirt and tickets to every kid in Hyndburn is a superb gesture and I have a lot of respect for how he’s running things. Bit let’s be frank, we have a small, hemmed in catchment area as it is and the last thing we need is an upwardly mobile club on our doorstep one division below.
  24. Find it slightly odd that with a decent season behind us, a price freeze and a good deal for young people that Waggott’s target is only 10,000. We are pretty much at that figure now (including half STs).
