  1. Saw a post on Twitter saying it has been scrapped? Presume its to do with ifollow now being the online service?
  2. End of the day we are in the third division, ergo our players aren't as good as theirs, so I expect to get beat and there's no point getting worked up about it - just a sobering reminder of the destruction these people have caused. However, what will annoy me is that as JH alludes to; a potential bouncing occasion will be anything but due to a combination of 1970s Belfast style policing, live TV coverage and likely silly ticket pricing ensuring a crap gate
  3. Like how our 'big money' signing is a 'mystery man'. Kevin Davies, he ain't!
  4. Walking Dead was great for about 5 seasons, the last one was total tripe. And as for Fear the Walking Dead, gave it a go, then they decided to have a season on a boat... with no zombies!
  5. He's definitely no Blackburner, Lowe has the biggest Wigan/Leigh accent you could wish to hear!
  6. http://www.gazettelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/gazette-not-publish-interview-middlesbrough-13358358.amp Fair play to the Middlesbrough paper, highlights what a pi$$ poor operation the LT is.
  7. The balance of the side is off for me, very cautious at 1, 2 ,3 and then the whole middle order just want to whack it, asking for trouble when we are constantly 2/3 down without much on the board. I'd put Root back at 3, and put a Ballance type in at 4 or 5.
  8. I like the re-booted franchise, but read a review this morning that said it should really be called 'Skirmish for the Planet of the Apes'.
  9. Long stopped trying to work out these owners. Though these signings coud easily be offset by sales later in the window, the fact there actually seems to be a plan this summer is a plus point. After nearly 7 years of this farce, people have every right to be cynical and yes *gasp* negative too, the missed opportunites and dreadful decision making of this era has hardwired this mindset into many of us. However, since his appointment Mowbray and the players have had nothing but support on a matchday, so as long as that's the case there's nothing wrong with having a gripe and a 'oh what might have been' lament on an internet message board.
  10. Felt a bit sorry for Liam Livingstone yesterday, he was trying to help the team move the score on, but a couple of failures with so many big hitters knocking on the door won't have done him much good England wise. Anyway, role on the Test series!
  11. How was that our fault? If I remember correctly all Rovers asked was for us to be awarded the game, no points deduction - it was that deduction that relegated them. They should have turned up with the youth team and lost 5-0
  12. BBC journalist Alistair Magowan was highly critical of Rovers' supporters after the match. In a blog, he wrote: "the dissenters calling for the head of Rovers manager Steve Kean seemed to cross a line. Perhaps some of the frustration after a poor run of results was understandable, but on Saturday on a wet and cold afternoon, Blackburn won their second game of the season, and still they booed. Their argument is that they are fully behind the team, not those in charge, but when Yakubu scored a fantastic first goal to give Rovers the lead, the cheers were tarnished by boos when the Nigerian ran over to celebrate with his manager on the touchline. At that point you had to question who they were booing. The evident union between the player and the manager underlines the fact that one cannot exist without the other and whatever the fans' gripes, their clearly-defined agenda is bound to spill over and affect the players. One thing is for sure, however, Blackburn's tactics or performances will not be helped by the continued anger from some supporters, especially if some boo in the midst of celebrating a goal". The years haven't lessened my anger at such nonsense from the media. Rovers fans were not known in any way shape or form as rabble rousers, yet with a few notable exceptions no journalist bothered to try and find out WHY there was such rage, indeed the media are more than happy to act as cheerleaders to bring about managerial changes at 'big' clubs as their fans have "every right" to demand a change in manager.
  13. Thing with the Dingles is that their lines of attack haven't changed in 25 years, so you'll still hear stuff like 'Wovers fans are bandwagon jumpers' etc without a hint of irony. The fact that they were down to 8/9000 crowds when Dyche took over and now pull in 20k is conveniently ignored but proves that success (relative or otherwise) pulls in floating fans.
  14. Confused? Because according to the sages of Ewood Park he was no good? 'get it bloody forward Nzony'
  15. Loving the new Fargo, David Thewlis is superb as the new Malvo. You are still in the golden era of TWD there K-Hod. A very long decline awaits you...
  16. Alan Mahon? I was more thinking Gordon Cowans or even Sparky...

  18. Well obviously some kids don't like sport chaddy, but many without Sky do.
  19. Most people don't 'want to find a way', they aren't avid sport fans like me and you, that's why they aren't paying £80 a month for Sky. However, if you put a sport on free to air TV, they may watch it - or their kids might and get hooked. Just like Rugby Union is witnessing. Chaddy, if you don't believe that cricket now has its lowest ever profile in this country then that's up to you, but I and many others would argue differently.
  20. I have Sky, however the majority of people don't, very simple, if you want to grow the game you need people to see it. Rugby Union was nowhere in the north of England 20 years ago, now I would wager it has the second highest profile up here. Why? Because 9 million people are watching the 6 Nations. 900 thousand are watching England cricket matches.
  21. Cricket has gone from the national summer game to a niche sport in a decade. The amount of Lancashire folk that can now name a load of English Rugby Union players but wouldn't even know the England cricket captain is a sad indicement of what going behind the paywall has done to cricket. Why? Because the RFU/IRB were never shortsighted enough to sell the whole game to pay TV. Yes, the Lions and most domestic matches are on Sky/BT, however the 6 Nations is on free to air prime time year in year out - as is the World Cup. Best of both worlds. Total lack of foresight from the ECB for short term financial gain.
  22. To be fair they mustn't be at all interested in football, most people I come across from both this area and further afield that even have a passing interest in sport know we have those 'Chicken farmers', Indians, 'Venky's' as owners.
  23. Superbly organised. Having the perimeter outside the turnstiles and then letting people roam about helped give it a great atmosphere, He wore a blue n white outfit, gave a shout out to the Rovers and then straight into 'That's why they call it the Blues'. Nice touch I thought. Two hour plus set, thought it was a great night.
  24. With you there. I remember a Brian Clough quote from the 90s in which he said something like 'The way TV deals are going in the top flight, you'll soon be able to let fans in for free'
