  1. BB will play when he is good enough to get past DG, not because we spent money on him... and he’s currently not even close . Ridiculous to say otherwise.
  2. The fact BB cost 7 million means bugger all, many a manager has thrown money away. We spent £10 million on Nathan Blake and Ashley Ward.
  3. Leicester are a decent side, as are Wolves and they would’ve been right up there in years gone by. However, the financial muscle of the top 6 now leaves them miles away.
  4. A good advert to show how they are a million miles away from the rest of English football, you mean?
  5. Of course a striker has to be a priority. We were a Graham injury away from a big problem last season.
  6. Said it all when Harvey’s only response to the crisis in club governance was ‘well the fans should be grateful to their owners’ Tinpot fixture organiser masquerading as a professional body.
  7. The LT staff are leaving east Lancs entirely and moving into the Bolton News office, I believe.
  8. No chance Carroll would come here, pay as you play, get out of it! He’s been on around 80k a week and there will without doubt PL clubs interested in giving him a proper deal.
  9. And BB is anywhere near ready to fire us to the top 6?!?
  10. We were very, very unlikely to go down. In fact, we were the first club in the division to be confirmed as stopping in this league - we couldn’t go up or down. Even so, you agree two budgets. Most clubs will be involved in something either promotion, play offs or relegation. Doesn’t mean planning just stops until the manager and Chief Exec fly half way across the world two weeks after the season has finished.
  11. I don’t see why the meeting can’t take place in the last international break, end of March. Only about a half dozen games of the season left by then. By that time any progressive football club should be thinking of the following season, surely?
  12. I’m not really paying much attention to this thread, the LT or anywhere else at this stage. The likes of Nixon and these random online places like ‘the 72’ churn out any old shite and folk are all over it. Either it will be someone like Downing and everyone recoils in horror or Maher and people think ‘oh I like the sound of him’. But in reality we probably aren’t interested in either and it is just agents doing their standard ‘rule of 3’ routine. I would say these random names give no insight either way into actual Rovers transfer policy.
  13. Indeed it does, which is why a lot of clubs are in a right state if relegated.
  14. Can’t stand Jenas. Offers no insight but if you listen to him on 5 Live there is a real arrogance to him.
  15. Some pundits come from nowhere to never being off media - Sutton being one. Another one I’ve noticed is that Michael Brown (was at City and Tottenham when they were shit).
  16. Another of Waggott’s cash cow followings disappearing.
  17. I’m not saying we wouldn’t. Just that It was a tougher league this time, but we could’ve well risen to the challenge. I’m just glad we weren’t there to find out.
  18. Amazing how many clubs ‘deserve to be in the top flight’. Should be about 50 strong.
  19. I personally don’t think we’d have finished comfortably in the top 2 this time in League 1. We had a very small club having a season of a lifetime and that was it in way of competition for us and Wigan. This season has seen a much stronger Charlton and Portsmouth, Barnsley spending decent money, plus a club the size of Sunderland. Luton were the Shrewsbury of this season and they lasted the course. Though, of course, we could only beat what was put in front of us, but I’m just glad we didn’t have to test that theory.
  20. He is.. and that’s with a wage cut! Rovers-esque shambles up there.
  21. This story summed up Berahino... https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/saido-berahino-arrives-stokes-premier-11850901.amp
  22. 4 million for a lad that’s never scored goals outside the third division was a classic January panic buy
  23. I cheered almost as loudly as if Rovers had scored and then went straight on Sunderland’s forum like a vulture. I obviously have issues.
  24. What about the bitter, Schadenfreude demographic (like me! )
  25. Netflix will be delighted, surely?
