  1. I think with the dominance of elite clubs, glory hunting is now as bad as it’s ever been. Or perhaps it just seems worse to us as we look forward to our 8th year outside the top flight, and some parents just go for the easy option of letting their kid have a Liverpool/City shirt like the rest of their class. You start to lose young ‘uns from Rovers supporting families and it’s game over, as the rest of the area has seemingly succumbed already. Bleurgh.
  2. It’s free on YouTube and BT’s website. I watched the Europa final on YouTube and it was decent quality.
  3. It is and bt.com and the BT app.
  4. Man Utd and their ‘fans’, I find, just think they support a massive club that historically has won a lot. Fair enough, you are still a sad individual that should be supporting your local club, but OK. Liverpool fans have this earnest view that they are some kind of mythical, almost spiritual club that does ‘things differently’, of ‘Shanks’, ‘the Boot Room’, ‘the working class’, ‘the Liverpool way’, ‘Scouse, not English’ (Even the non Scouse ones), a ‘Latin Club’ (under Rafa) and on it goes. In reality their late 70s and 80s domination has just created two generations of plastics across the country that feeds these myths, that our pathetic media eggs on. Burnley aside, no club comes close for vitriol from me. As you can tell! COYS.
  5. Little bit of pressure put on Mowbray I thought. No hiding behind ‘Well club x have parachute money’. ‘Sunderland get 30,000 gates’ and so on. Quite right too.
  6. Thought it was interesting that Waggott admitted it will be a weaker league this time.
  7. He’s got the perfect half Scouse/half cockney accent.
  8. The fact they play their football in this country means nothing to me. But of course come on Tottenham, I can’t be doing with another 2005, the single use plastic will be unbearable.
  9. Salford have just signed Richie Towell who was first choice in the Championship with Rotherham last season. I imagine it will be a brief stay in League 2...
  10. Is he? Not sure he’s any better than a good Championship player myself.
  11. It’s perfectly true. But you don’t read ‘Trevor Hemmings funded Preston North End’ or ‘Middlesbrough, who operate under a Steve Gibson benefactor model’ in their local paper. Weird recent innovation.
  12. I’ve noticed Sharpe drops that line in nearly every article these days. Lapped up by Beetlejuice and crew below the line.
  13. LT: https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/rovers/news/17676487.rovers-chief-executive-on-budget-talks-with-owners-venkys/ ‘They wanted to discuss the blip in the middle of the season, what can we do better on that front, and Tony gave an explanation on that.’ The image of Balaji doling out the tactical advice to TM
  14. The Observer? No chance! They don’t want an earful from Holt at the next EFL meeting, do they!
  15. We’ll sell pretty much the same as usual with a little spike today (payday and £4 extra club cash!!!!) and another at claim your seat deadline day. No advertisement I can see apart from on the club’s official social media accounts. Any lapsed/non ST holders had any targeted advertising?
  16. Doesn’t really mean anything without a comparison to this stage usually.
  17. I’m not particularly arsed about the fixtures in themselves being ‘unglamorous’. What is strange though is that Mowbray himself said he doesn’t want to largely play lower league sides. Last season’s friendlies showed that. This time we are seemingly back to them.
  18. I thought the company accounts stated that it was 7million as they had us spending £10 million overall on transfers?
  19. It was a debate, no? A couple of people got a bit personal, but I thought the rest of us (Joe included) were just chewing the fat on BB, a big signing for the club. Whats the problem with that? Or if it’s in the wrong thread, just move it.
  20. Well of course. Bloke near me slags off Dack every week! That’s a football crowd. But as a COLLECTIVE he’s had great support.
  21. I’ll stop you there. He’s had fantastic support from the fans. Very patient. If folk in the pub or on a forum want to criticise the money spent, so what if he’s been getting support at the ground?
  22. We all thought Lowe was shite from day 1, Shirley?
  23. Jason Lowe played at various youth levels for England - indeed he captained the U20s...
  24. Fair enough Joe. I can’t agree that he is ready and we will see in August that TM (the actual expert) doesn’t agree with you either.
