  1. For Boxing Day after a massive marketing drive. Since relegation from the PL they usually have 25,000 to 28,000. In a 49,000 capacity. Old Lancashire is the heartland of the game, not the north east.
  2. When Neal of this parish’s dad ended up chatting to Mowbray after the Wigan debacle. He was fuming and ranting and said ‘we WILL beat Sheff Wed, don’t you worry about that’ Now that may be because Sheff Wed were shite at the time, but it isn’t something you’d hear ‘on the record’. All that matters is that he actually changes things, so the next month will be telling...
  3. I try not to look too deeply into the public comments of managers, he is probably right to avoid publicly roasting the players, if we think back to the anger he showed to Neal’s dad at Wigan tells me it’s a different story behind closed doors. It’s all about action, so it is certainly time to get worried if the likes of Williams, Smallwood and perhaps even Lenihan aren’t replaced over the next few months.
  4. He’s hasn’t generally been terrible, just very raw. However, Norwich was terrible, utterly. First time I started to seriously think we’ve got an issue here.
  5. They usually have around 20,000+ empty seats every week, that just doesn’t fit the narrative of the ‘passionate north east’ (three league clubs in a whole region and we are supposed to marvel at the fact decent numbers go to those 3).
  6. As you say Tom, a lot of the crowd shots were at a totally different match than the game they were showing. I.e they’d be away at Bolton, but it would show fans at the Stadium of Light. Though I suppose, only nerds like us would notice such things!
  7. It’s also the complete opposite of an Allardyce. He delegated a lot of the sessions at the training ground to his coaching staff. But matchday was his domain.
  8. He doesn’t. He’s said before that the senior players ‘run the dressing room’. I can’t say it’s something I ever hear other managers say. ‘I always say to them this is their dressing room, their team, I rarely go in their dressing room’ https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/16980319.tony-mowbray-feels-rovers-have-reason-to-be-optimistic/
  9. The QPR win was a poor performance and our ‘levels’ haven’t recovered since.
  10. It’s simple. A good percentage of those players aren’t good enough if the club wants to progress. The ‘loyalty to those that got us here’ was a laudable approach, though a little over sentimental for my taste, but the upgrades need to now begin in earnest.
  11. Thought they weren’t allowed to show red button in pubs anymore? Unless they’ve just bought an ifolllow match pass?
  12. 2,500 going according to LT. Personally think they’ve got wrong end of the stick with regards to ‘no tickets being available’, as that was the entire allocation. Some following at that price if true...
  13. Jason Steele was interesting. I heard when he was here that he had a few issues and had regular sessions with a sports psychologist. Seeing him on this shows that he’s a very fragile lad. But christ he makes some ricks.
  14. Fair enough. I can imagine a few local businesses will have taken up a few of the table for 10s
  15. Are you sure? The club, or Kevin Gallagher and the former player association that are putting it on haven’t tweeted that?
  16. The guy obviously has something, some Forest fans were upset he went, England youth caps etc. However, young players sometimes just don’t develop, or a la Davies at Rovers, players with a price tag never live up to it at that club. As I said, let’s hope that isn’t the case here, but it’s not been an auspicious start.
  17. For his and certainly the club’s sake I hope you’re right. But people can only comment on what they see, nobody expects a finished article, but it is the lack of any kind of spark, any glimpse of potential that is worrying.
  18. So as is tradition I receive the 2019 calendar, and as is tradition I look straight to Mr January to see who’ll be leaving this next month, and they aren’t even making it subtle ?
  19. That was the chadster? The scoundrel!
  20. Bit of a Graham or bust strategy that...
  21. Bell is debatable and Rothwell can’t be classed as a hit currently as he doesn’t play.
  22. Watching it at the minute. What makes me laugh is the constant: ‘Best fans in the country in the north east. So much passion’ Their fans are always parroting it, as are the players and staff. Just shows if the media repeats something enough, it becomes gospel. They get decent numbers through the gate because there’s only 3 league clubs in the whole north east of England. As a contrast, there’s 6 league clubs (including Rovers) in just a 15 mile radius of Blackburn alone!
  23. They brought him in from Brondby. A league where they pay a pittance in comparison to the Championship. We signed Mulgrew who had been playing for a Champions League club for years. So Rovers should be in the market for such players. I.e free transfers from Denmark and Scotland.
  24. Totally get the geography thing. One of the lads that played yesterday was from York, as an example. So a vast area to draw from. Just find it striking that it seems to be all about young English players as signings, yet we haven’t blooded any of our own this season...
