  1. We've not spent much more than last summer so far, so lets not get giddy. Why would any of these supposed 'negative' posters care less about their chips being pissed on? We all want Blackburn Rovers to prosper, if we didn't we wouldn't be spending work time, leisure time, family time, all our bloody time F5-ing this message board! Some folk on here remember very well that we have been repeatedly burnt by these owners, so they are wary. It doesn't mean they don't trust Mowbray, or doesn't mean they don't think the club is generally in a better place than it was a couple of summers ago (we don't even need to delve into the fiasco of summer 2016) . Just remember, we thought the club had turned a corner in 2014, when we had a load of good Championship players, increasing season ticket sales, a club frontman (Myers) saying all the right things, a load of good PR - how did that work out? And if you get pleasure out anonymous people on the internet supposedly being upset by their club buying players, then good for you, I suppose...
  2. Not sure that's quite true these days, I'm pretty sure a lot of these new 'Ultras sections' for want of a better word that are springing up in a lot of English grounds have been encouraged by the clubs themselves - Huddersfield and Bristol City spring to mind
  3. Jazzy Kex! My mate's uncle owned it, so we always got in for nowt. Great place to go to avoid the Cav crowd.
  4. First few pages of this thread are a laugh, I remembered that Mowbray wasn’t exactly a popular appointment on here - understandable in many ways after he’d had a lean few years. But more due to the love in for Nigel Adkins!
  5. It was the fawning over Jorge Mendes that made me turn over...
  6. There's a lot of site traffic with visitors (especially around transfer windows and matchdays) and a hardcore of posters keep a few threads busy, but are there as many regular posters as there once was? I don't think so.
  7. 5.30 Sky game for Villa, so not sure they will.
  8. Don't think he'll have a problem at all, his reputation can only be enhanced after what he's put up with there.
  9. From memory the Blackpool Gazette reported it earlier in the summer.
  10. It doesn’t say anything, just what we already know, I.e basket case, Bowyer paying for training faciltities etc. They've no intel to why he finally walked yesterday.
  11. Around 2006-2007, one or two seasons, just before the Taking Back Ewood campaign.
  12. Course it will, no code of Omerta at Bloomfield Road!
  13. Whatever the reasons it meant we didn’t strengthen, ergo we fell away.
  14. Supposedly he had a meeting with Oyston today - being transfer deadline week, perhaps he was told nobody can be brought in or someone to be sold was the final straw? I imagine the truth will leak out of that madhouse.
  15. No he’s saying you improve your side from a position of strength. He then outlined who from that side could potentially have been improved on. It’s what elite clubs do and unfortunately we rested on our laurels in the summer of 1995 and our position at the top of the game went in a flash.
  16. I’m not against the closure of the Darwen End, I believe concentrating the home support into fewer areas is for the best. However, using these supposed massive away supports as the main reason for doing it is disingenuous. The standard away allocation was one half of the bottom tier and the top tier, if required, so not far off 5,500 seats. I’m still to be convinced that even half of all these clubs being mentioned will be bringing more than that...
  17. £18 is a great price... unless you take a couple of kids with you!
  18. Excellent Test match at Edgbaston. Lets hope for more of the same, especially as I'll be at Trent Bridge day 2 and 3!

  20. Squad numbers obviously mean bugger all these days, but the fact he's number 7 suggests he will be playing wide again...
  21. Thought I was watching my 92/93 'GOALS GOALS GOALS' VHS
  22. Some consultation with the Darwen Enders pre STs going on sale could have helped.
  23. Get your point Ian, but I think late goals are slightly different. Remember 'Fergie Time' and all that, nowt to do with luck (or refs! ), his team scored a load of last minute goals because they were very fit players with a never say die attitude. By the same token, a team that concedes a load of last minute goals wil be lacking something
  24. I doubt it, the top 6 have gone off on another trajectory completely. Best of the rest? Possibly.
