  1. No it doesn’t REALLY matter, but despite Waggott’s apparent professionalism, it is a sign that the club is still anything but an efficient organisation under these owners. Yes the shirt is out now, but the away one isn’t out yet and we’ll be kicking off our season in it in a week (though we don’t need to with that light blue), what other club takes this long? It’s not about existing ST holders renewing, but trying to entice new/returning ones. Details should have been on the doorstep and/or emailed to every single database member a day or 2 after Doncaster, or at least the day after Oxford. Try and catch the wave of optimism, just good marketing
  2. ‘Black Eye Rovers’ ’Bully Boys’ Those bullies got us to the top 6, cup semi after cup semi and numerous European trips...
  3. Sounds a very odd issue to me. Rovers must now be aware that they are losing signed up season ticket holders due to a policy of a third party?
  4. Poor player but before Christmas he did ok and scored a few goals. After Christmas Armstrong took over and scored even more. So who's going to be scoring them now?
  5. Plus Blackburn Olympic were only down t'road at Hole i'th Wall...
  6. Apart from the obvious titles, cup wins etc. , for me the UEFA Cup run of 2006/07, in particulary the away trips are right up there. I went to all four; Salzburg, Wisla Krakow, Feyenoord, Bayer Leverkusen. Brilliant trips with fantastic followings - especially the thousands of Blues roaming around Amsterdam! I could have burst I was so proud. Year after a few pals went to the game Larissa in Athens and I couldn't make it, I remember saying 'I'll defo be at the next one', we got knocked out and never played in Europe again...
  7. Exactly! That's why it always makes me laugh when folk go on about 'agendas' and 'certain posters love it when we get beat'. No we hate it, that's why we spend our days F5-ing some obscure message board!
  8. End of the day it's not a true pyramid system like mens football they want. More akin to the licence system of the MLS in the States, i.e. those deemed with the most 'potential', i.e. Man Utd are fast tracked, other teams just trundle about at amateur level. I recall Rugby League tried it a few years back and quickly scrapped it.
  9. Birmingham? https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.bbc.co.uk/sport/amp/football/44481033
  10. Thought it was Dreams of 1995 that was doing the ‘calling out’...
  11. They get mentioned because they are the owners, for good or ill. You can't discuss transfers, money etc. without a nod to those that hold the purse strings. Just over a week until we start a season in a higher division, two young lads signed and that's it. Past experience says that's a worrying sign and any Rovers fan with a memory longer than a goldfish will look to those that we should no longer name as the root cause - outspending the likes of Shrewsbury and Scunthorpe last season means bugger all...
  12. Begins with a V and ends with an S...
  13. Will even Grealish go? Lot of gnashing of teeth over not a lot, it seems...
  14. The LT obviously know they are wringing every bit of copy out of not a lot, as they've stopped bothering with Mowbray's quotes after about 50 airings this summer.
  15. Completely the fault of these owners that we’ve lot so much of our match going support, but the facts are we don’t get close to 20,000+ crowds and won’t in this division, so our lower income is a reality.
  16. Not sure. The tide has turned from where it was 5 years ago.
  17. Off topic but not true. Polling has shown that voters of all persusaions are in support of it.
  18. Indeed we are and if that is the approach then lets go with it. But I don't think that was the plan in June, so it will be out of necessity that Travis will be playing (possibly) and Nuttall will be pushing for a start. It has come about because the Championship has moved on and we haven't.
  19. The Championship is not the division it was. It is now packed full of clubs like Derby, Forest, the two Sheffield clubs, Leeds, Villa, Norwich and so on, who all regularly attract crowds of 25,000+. I assume Stoke and possibly West Brom will add to that figure. Therefore the best we can hope for is a season out of nowhere, a la Huddersfield or to end up with a model like Brentford and PNE that consistently has them in the top 8. Is that a 'moneyball' approach or do we utilise the Academy more? The club needs to decide what its approach is long term, as having just a couple of young lads signed up 10 days before a season in a higher division , doesn't seem like a recipe for success to me and has exposed a level of naviety within the club to how the Championship of 2018 is rapidly evolving ...
  20. They'll have plenty, ring them. Looking at the club's Twitter it seems that the online ticketing site has been playing up for weeks - Waggott's never going to get his bonus for hitting the stretch target for ST sales at this rate!
  21. But it is these days. The only reason this random 4 day game was chucked into the middle of the T20 window is to give the England players a warm up for the 1st Test. There was even talk of Anderson playing for Surrey in the build up if he needed more overs. Central contracts mean the ECB call the shots and the integrity of the county game means feck all to them.
  22. The New Steven Gerrard no less...
  23. Stoke are a sensible club making sensible decisions under a local owner, coupled with parachute payments and 20,000 season tickets sold. I always saw Stoke as a similar outfit to ourselves, a historic, provincial club (though far less trophies), yet we’ve been left behind by such clubs thanks to our appalling owners.
  24. Another defeat. Staring down the barrel of relegation (again).
  25. I don't necessarily disagree, especially with Evans, bloke's been largely an expensive waste of time. However, for me, it shows that the kind of contract that attracted Mulgrew won't be seen again at the club...
