  1. Been very unlucky with the local games. There’s only three and only one of them is a Sat 3pm. Of the other two, one ends up on Sky at £30 a ticket and no trains, the other is just days after the mega following and midweek, so pretty much guarantees a much dismissed figure - 2/2.5k at best.
  2. A Sky reporter is at Brockhall today interviewing him for Soccer Saturday. His profile is ever increasing...
  3. Looking at the style of the website it’s part of the Mirror Group, so I presume they just share ‘gossip’ stories across their titles? Fills up a page and gets the click count up.
  4. It’ll be orders from Preston.
  5. Good luck to him if it happened, but for me he is a million miles away from a top 6 PL and CL side.
  6. We’ve been selling the majority of our away tickets for games like Stoke and West Brom to non season ticket holders, so this will be the same. Plus, a lot of ST holders will be waiting for open sale as they’ll have non ST-ers in their group, so I imagine a big spike from tomorrow.
  7. I’d say he must go round for a bottle of one of Mercer’s fine reds, but I remember that McDonut’s teetotal...
  8. I do, most people on here do. But if someone has an issue with season ticket prices or the Darwen End or transfers or whatever, then let’s discuss them, it doesn’t mean the club is going to hell in a handcart or that people on here think the club is a shambles from top to bottom . Every organisation should be looking to constantly improve and a football club is no different on or off the pitch.
  9. In my opinion, I think £250 for a half season ticket in the Jack Walker upper for second tier football isn’t particularly good value, you do, fair enough. Happy to debate it with you, but instead of debating you seem to have a constant need to enter thread after thread and attempt to shut them down or derail them by banging on about ‘negativity, ‘usual suspects’, ‘your gang’ and so on. It’s getting very daft.
  10. Let’s be honest, on gates of 11-14k we will never be self sufficient outside the Premier League, and certainly not in the Championship, so will ever remain an example of an ‘owner reliant model’. I’ve no real issue with that, however it all depends on ever continuing funding from Pune.
  11. The Blackburn End and Jack Walker are looking slightly fuller, but not substantially so. But the Darwen End of the ground looked awful to me and it can’t help the players. If we expect a club to bring, say 3,500/4,000, certainly fill the upper and then put the overspill downstairs. But when a club is bringing a few hundred having them tucked away in a top corner of an enormous stand just makes Ewood look desolate.
  12. ‘Look at all the moaners’ stuff... again! Just looks like people dissecting the game like after every match since the forum started. Folk delighted with the win but assessing how we could improve, what’s wrong with that?
  13. If you can get a match ticket for not much more than that game by game, why bother with a half season ticket? Especially if there may be a game or two you can’t make. End of the day if we are up there we may sell a few, mid table and it will be a few hundred like most years. But £230-£250 in the most popular stand, the Jack Walker, for a half season ticket (11 games) is over £22 a game and extrapolates as £500+ for a full season ticket, that’s not ‘cheap’ for second tier football in an area like this, end of.
  14. That’s just for the Riverside. £200 Blackburn End, £230-£250 in the Jack Walker. Not sure it’s great value for 11 games myself, £20-22 a match in the JW, so I doubt they will be flying off the shelves, but value is in the eye of the beholder, I suppose.
  15. Swansea have let go a lot of high earners, so a long term re-build makes sense. However West Brom have a big wage bill and an obvious need to get straight back up, it is vital they make the most of the parachute money. Appointing a novice was therefore very unwise in my view. Parallels with ourselves in 2012, their fans will hope they don’t appoint four inexperienced Championship managers in a row though!
  16. I took it that as a playful little dig at our Vinners?
  17. If I was in the pub folk would be going: ‘shite that, didn’t get forward enough etc etc... but glad for the win’ Mowbray slaughtered the game, Said it was ‘horrible, ugly’, that he was ‘disappointed with the performance, but glad to put the points in the bag’. Just like on here then! So I’ve no idea why people are trying to constantly derail threads with this ‘sooo negative on here’ crap, but it’s getting extremely tiresome.
  18. The ref didn’t help, whistle was never out of his mouth and he dished out 8 yellow cards though there was hardly a bad tackle.
  19. Yes, very odd. Of course you compare yourselves to the other teams in the league - it’s the competition! But ok, put it another way, I would have much preferred the money to be spent on more established players, we aren’t a million miles from a top 6 team, that money could have got us there. Hope you’re right on the other points.
  20. Who else in the Championship are buying raw 19 year olds for £7million? Other clubs would be buying finished articles at that price (or a couple), players that could very well fire a team knocking on the door of the top 6 to promotion. I’m all for the young English talent approach. Rothwell, Armstrong et al coupled with a good number of Academy lads in the team is working well. But this one is a very odd deal.
  21. But if it’s ‘touch and go with work’ how can he buy in advance (and avoid the penalty charge)?
  22. Mods... assemble!
  23. Pub at 2pm... ’what you think of the team Unsall?’ ’No comment. I trust in Mowbray’. ’oh...’
  24. Ok wrong word. However for a half season ticket to cost £18-22 a match? You can get match tickets for not much more. Considering I paid £15 a match for mine. This is a chance to get folk back!
  25. There’s a difference between trusting the manager/being delighted with the job he’s doing and questioning individual decisions.
