No surprise at the crowd. Wednesday start so no weekend day is going to attract a decent gate to start with, so a lot of eggs in Friday’s basket, plus it’s been the most low key cricket summer I can remember with the Euros and Olympics as competition, and low profile tourers these days in the Windies and Sri Lanka. But no excuses as it’s up therefore up to Lancs to assess this summer’s market and price it accordingly, and they didn’t.

And they’ll be gone before we even get to folk thinking about Christmas presents. Every. Single. Season.

To be fair when it comes to early round League Cup crowds they are now way up on where they have been for donkeys years, over 8,000 home fans in last night, unheard of for a long time and higher than many comparable/Championship clubs … that performance won’t have helped to keep it that way like. But one again it shows the fanbase is still there.

Happens every single season. Just a shambles of a football club wherever you look.

You can buy on the night and it doesn’t say there’s a price rise for this one, presumably that’s just league games (no idea why the difference, as we know they just make it up as they go along).

Amazing how this Trafford still has this reputation as the next big thing in goalkeeping, been all over the place every time I’ve seen him. His ‘mid range passing’ or some other irrelevant stat must be off the charts though. Modern football, ay.

Fair enough but it’s been a long time since I’ve seen one. Unlike here where’s there’s always been a couple.

I came up from the concourse to hear a right ovation, I was thinking ‘oh who’s that, it’s err… Elliott Bennett’. A bigger hand than actual club legends like Big Col have received recently… but I suppose the ‘95 team doesn’t mean so much to younger fans.

I’ve stopped letting it bother me as you know when we are thriving again with new owners (I know, I know!) they’ll be all ‘obviously Venky’s had to go’ ‘it’s a new dawn’. They just blindly protect the status quo and authority at all times.

It’s this modern day social media mantra of ‘being positive’, of ‘avoiding negativity’. Of course there’s nothing remotely ‘positive’ about blindly supporting people that have dragged BRFC into the gutter.

As bizarre as everything else at this club, obviously don’t want to man the away ticket office for a couple of hours… but of course there are absolutely no issues with funding, one of those reassuring blue background statements said so.

That’s the Jack Walker/Darwen End connecting bridge (for want of a better word), one was there. The other one was on the Blackburn End/Jack Walker connector on the other side.

It’s a fair point, has a Rovers fan ever been a regular on UTC? No idea why they would want to be, but they wouldn’t last five minutes without being hounded off. Whereas even obnoxious twats like that Sam Dingle lasted years on here.

I’m sure Eustace knew all too well, but obviously fancied a well paid Championship job where you get to get your feet under the table. I’m saying there are a shed load down at Ewood that couldn’t care less about the off field stuff, hard to believe for folk like us on here that live and breathe it, but it’s how it is with many a football fan.

‘Over the years’, yes when we had a vibrant local media. Now? We get nothing that isn’t in the public domain. If you are a fan that doesn’t use social media/forums (which is a sizeable number) you will know very little about the power struggles/Swag/Suhail and all the rest of it. The CEO himself was a virtual unkown until a couple of years ago, the actual power holder in the club still is.

Why what would the local paper tell them re what was going on behind the scenes? Not a lot over what is on the record, what was said in the last presser/press release.

I would say there’s a shed load of fans out there that know feck all about the machinations behind the scenes. They just traipse down to Ewood every other week to watch a team in blue and white and don’t really give it much thought again until the next time they do said traipsing.
