  1. Bolton, Burnley, Sheff Wed, Forest, Stoke just off the top of my head but plenty more. The vast majority of clubs who could change divisions still had them on sale between February and April. But yes even the days after Leicester would at least have been something to grab on to, but no chuck them on sale in late May instead.
  2. Misrepresenting Sammie there, should’ve used a picture of last season’s ’captain’ actually shushing his own fans.
  3. So the Premier Suite which I’ve been in to for a game in each of the last three seasons, and has been excellent, with a four course meal - three pre game, and a post game course… has now been replaced with the ‘95 Club’, a ‘one course hot buffet’ (oh and a dessert at half time)… so pretty much what Jack’s Kitchen was (JK now being ‘a pie and a pint’. Oh it looks as if the Red Rose Suite in the Blackburn End is now the new Premier Suite offering… but obviously you don’t get the Jack Walker Upper central seating, just behind glass behind the goal.
  4. Obviously Rev has cherry picked, but there is some truth, Leo for one, I mean, christ. But yes, AW was a fire sale with the Suhail/Swag axis ensuring our generational talent was flogged to the first bidder so the club could now meet their disgraceful bosses liabilities instead of Pune.
  5. Oh for those heady days when we could compete with Hull!
  6. Kind of get his point on Grealish, does look like a lot of the fun and spontaneity has gone out of his game… but Foden? Pep has managed his career superbly.
  7. Thing is Merce you’ve been saying this stuff for about ten years. And there is without doubt very plausible, rational reasons that you should be right… but none of this has been rational or plausible since day dot - so it’s why they very much will be in situ at the end of the calendar year… oh and the next one.
  8. ‘We couldn’t possibly have asked for any more’… x2
  9. Play off final for a place in the PL? Our first trip to the new Wembley? We’d sell 30k absolutely no problem.
  10. To be fair it’s not a surprise that a club like Oxford will take 30k to a Wembley game. You see it all the time for the Papa John’s etc. Whole extended families go down etc., half of whom have never been to a game in their life.
  11. Masher stating the bleeding obvious. Yes, they are still in L1, we aren’t (yet), but we can still wish Ewood was a far more vibrant place with thousands more ST holders, especially younger ones.
  12. Can’t say I particularly rated the bloke, but I don’t think it’s ’nonsense’ to wish the club operated with at least some kind of professionalism.
  13. Doesn’t matter if the bloke was a prick, public statements need some degree of professionalism. I’d call it amateur, but non league clubs operate with more gravitas.
  14. Yep, been posting very oddly and out of character has Parson recently. The bloke deserves some professional courtesy if nothing else - but of course you’d need some courteous professionals running the gaff to offer that.
  15. Strangest bloke on a very strange site that one. Used to be vehemently anti-Venky, now worships the ground they walk on.
  16. So pretty much two months later for getting them on sale than last season. What a ridiculous football club.
  17. Not this again, Bolton and Rovers are similarly supported clubs, always have been, so it is very comparable. Just because arbitrarily drawn Bolton borough is bigger than BwD doesn't give them a bigger fanbase. The majority of our ST base now resides outside of BwD anyway as confirmed by The Trust, the Bolton fanbase is much more contained within their sizeable borugh that covers a lot of neighbouring towns .
  18. Yes they would still average 20k even through a crap season because they have 16k+ ST holders already in the tent for the season, so they can’t not hit 20k crowds - but yes it would be interesting to see what would happen to their ST sales the following year if they had a bottom half third division season, even at bargain prices.
  19. Probably will be one in name as it gives the pretence of continuity and that we actually have a plan. But in reality his wings will be clipped and the Suhail/Swag axis will one again be in full control.
  20. Well obviously I don’t know. But I would deem it highly improbable that ten thousand plus fans who stopped going 11/12 years ago and now do all manner of other things with their time and money would suddenly be charging back to watch second division football just because the ownership had changed. Or fans generally who have stopped going more recently because they are being charged top whack for a crap product would again come straight back because of a different name on the door. Or the general floating or lapsed fan that just doesn’t want to put their hand in the pocket for the current crap product at top prices. The reason gates can’t grow is because of the said crap product at top prices this regime implements, not the regime itself. If the owners oversaw an improvement in one or preferably both of those, crowds would increase, quick (they won’t because, you know, Venky’s).
  21. I hate those that have somehow ended up owning/running my club, obviously that’s the same for most on here. Nobody hates the club itself or why would they be on here getting so het up about it?
  22. Thousands aren’t staying away until Venky’s are gone.
