  1. Their forum made me laugh, ‘we’ll be everyone’s cup final’, ‘everyone will raise their game at a place like St Andrew’s’. Big Club as ever.
  2. Goal difference, then goals scored then head to head record. So if we’d have been level on goal difference and goals scored, as we beat them 4-2 at Ewood and only lost 1-0 at St Andrews we’d have stayed up.
  3. Oh he’s obviously on borrowed time at 37, but if we never see him in a Rovers shirt again, he was still a bloody good and needed signing.
  4. Totally agree on McFadz. Yes he’s experienced, but a superb attitude and a leader in a team that seriously lacks them - as the actual captain for most of this season is very much lacking in that quality from where I’m standing.
  5. No chance, the only real thing that still get clicks and keeps the LT from folding is Blackburn Rovers, they won’t be biting the hand that feeds them.
  6. Of course, but why are we still waiting? As JH often alludes to, get them on sale for as long as possible when folk are in ‘football mode’ like every other bloody club in the country. It’s hard enough here with everything that’s gone on, yet those running the club even bother giving it a chance.
  7. Bolton will definitely fill it next time. Years since we’ve played them and a club/fanbase with momentum.
  8. Come on SG you get my point, the buzz that any big/pivotal win gets you in the day or two after. Obviously this season wasn’t anything but compete shite, but there’s certainly a bit more of a spring in a fan’s step than if we’d have survived on the back of other teams’ results post a 4-0 defeat.
  9. But like when we had two top strikers at this level in Rhodes and Gestede… and still ended up nowhere.
  10. Of course he is, very capable manager at this level and he has that reputation in the game. Always made me laugh when plenty on here tried to make out that Rovers was his meal ticket and he’d never get a gig again in the Championship.
  11. And that’s a fair assumption to make, take Rooney’s shocking spell out and they wouldn’t have been close.
  12. Nope bad luck to him. Passed down to me just like it has in my family generation after generation - just like that dad should’ve done.
  13. About three months apart, I’ll always remember the Arsenal game as I went on a protest pre match and got an earful for a load around m as I took my seat - ‘just get behind ‘em’ FFS’ Needless to say most of said fans have long disappeared…
  14. To be fair that’s more in depth knowledge than most journos cobble together in the national press.
  15. Yep, you can’t keep going to the well on relegation and bouncing back. Look at Norwich and Watford, perennial yo-yo clubs - Watford have now lost their parachutes and every chance Norwich will have by the end of the month too and then you are back with the herd. Keep turning over your squads, get stuck with demotivated high earners, some poor signings and before you know it, it’s gone as per Hudds, Stoke and many others.
  16. Your first example, fair enough, that’s what happens when you get out of the habit. The second one - shame on them.
  17. 17 points in 16 games, that is a relegation points tally extrapolated. So forget ‘x wins’, ‘x defeats’, ‘x clean sheets’, ‘couldn’t win at home’. It’s all about points however you get them, home wins, away wins, nicking 1-0s or whatever, who cares and that point tally generally isn’t enough to stay up, never mind leading to having a decent season. However, his job was to keep us up - he did, in tough circumstances as always when you come in mid season to a struggling team and you want to play in a vastly different way. Some silly hyperbole about how he’s been ‘superb’, as is the he’s ’almost Kean now’ nonsense. So yes, he does get a fresh start from me, but it is no coincidence that all his wins came away, that’s just how he set up the team - with no Sammie going forward and back on 0 points , he will have to fundamentally change his approach to home games, and perhaps he will as the means to end that was his role this season is put to bed (and thank feck it is).
  18. Leeds games are seldom bore fests.
  19. Those three wins in that manner being the three to do it does seem random and implausible… if the wins had been, say, home games against Millwall, Plymouth and 10 man Cov, perfectly plausible.
  20. Most boycotting began a decade plus ago and the vast majority of those fans are now long gone. If ST numbers fall further this summer, the non renewing fan won’t be seeing it as a boycott, they’ll have just had enough of a shambolic football club charging them top dollar for a poor product… and that’s fair enough - their cash, their time, their blood pressure.
  21. Has Longers forgot his password?
  22. Remember when Pick hoped someone would break his legs?
  23. Shite season, no question - but what a way to end. Presumably they had the prices set up and ready to go for both outcomes - so get the ST on sale, tonight and tap into the buzz… they won’t, presumably we’ll see them at some point in June.
