  1. Several years ago the ECB decided that white ball cricket/world cup should be the focus, they brought in Bayliss and we are probably the best side in the world at the moment. We now need a reset the other way, red ball cricket must take priority, Broad and Anderson are about to be put out to pasture and we need a new generation, but with the money involved in white ball, its going to be a struggle. We are so far behind the Aussies here, we don't seem to have any fight in us, heads down, body language is awful when in the field, they're beaten before they start. Not that we didn't see any of this coming.......
  2. Pathetic Butler, a test he’ll want to forget I’m sure, just not good enough, poor technique and worked out by Australia. This could be over today if Smith puts us back in under lights.
  3. Not hearing that currently o2g, but it wouldn't be a surprise if it happened. Hope the wife is ok 👍
  4. We have taken the decision not to attend on Saturday, which is gutting as we had 10 ex-season ticket holders coming too, but its the sensible option. Not wanting to turn this into a Covid thread but, the omicron variant is running wild right now, January is going to be really tough for NHS and people across the country, we are not going to take the risk.
  5. With these awful owners we've had to endure disaster after disaster with appointments across the club, be it Agnew, Singh and Shaw, or King rat, Coyle and Appleton, appalling appointments for a club like ours. Posters forget we had a bean counter in Cheston running the show for years, it was Mowbray that finally persuaded the club to bring in a bit of structure in Waggott, I'm sure it helps the manager and players behind the scenes, the fans have certainly seen discounted games under Waggott, we didn't see much of that before he arrived, but its not enough. Waggott is a third rate CEO, paid peanuts in CEO terms, he fits the Venky model perfectly and has done some good behind the scenes, but he's not good enough and until the owners leave we'll never attract anyone of a decent calibre as history continues to prove.
  6. First bit of luck for England, Pat Cummings ruled out due to contact with a positive COVID case. Butler puts down Labuschagne, if you can’t take catches, you won’t win games.
  7. If a Premiership football club can’t control its players, can’t put a side together to play a Premiership match they should forfeit the match. They go to training, eat, get tested, play football and pick up wages in excess of £100k a week, how the hell are they getting covid? Not giving a toss that’s how.
  8. 2nd Test starts tonight, 4am start for the early risers on BT, think I'll have a early night and get up to watch. We bowled well in the first game, let down by poor fielding and awful batting, both issues have blighted the side for a while now. Looking forward to it.
  9. Traditionally its a poorly attended weekend for football and has been for many years, the last Saturday before Christmas and all that. I tried to buy a number of tickets yesterday and computer said no, bit like I tried to buy a number of shirts recently, computer said no, frustrating, but I'll call them later today and persevere.
  10. The Mrs is just watching last nights episode of Succession, shes completely addicted to it, I'll give it a go at some stage.
  11. Are you seriously comparing the local Tesco to Ewood Park, an Ewood Park where we all grew up, our fathers and grandfathers grew up on the terraces over decades?
  12. If you scroll back through the thread much of the complaints are around the state of the surrounding area, rubbish, weeds, detritus and such like, all easily solved with a concerted effort from a group of fans.
  13. We don't need a new plot of land, we need promotion to the Premiership, this season, we'll possibly not have a better chance than this. Get the players signed to new deals and give the manager significant funds, anything else is a distraction, probably intentional too.
  14. Blackburn with Darwen Council is expected to spend £412m in year 21/22 - This goes towards, staffing, running costs, building maintenance and such like, but that doesn't stop volunteers tidying up estates across the borough, cleaning fly tipping hotspots and generally offering time for free to keep the place looking tidy.
  15. Why don’t Brfcs arrange tidy up at the ground? Plenty of posts in this thread, I’m sure many would give the time.
  16. A manager that knows we have a long way to go.
  17. Both community assets, used for football at all levels, cricket, equestrian and much more, what a strange suggestion.
  18. I don’t care about pricing for Saturdays game, we will be going regardless. But if you read a little further back, I did call for a reduction in pricing for the Brum game earlier in this thread. Just to be clear.
  19. I’m replying to your original remarks wheelton, have a read back if you’ve forgotten what you said. It left me under the impression you were doing more than just moaning on here, I got that wrong. See you on Saturday, I’ll be the one bringing 10 fellow Rovers fans that don’t usually attend week in week out.
  20. You’re doing nothing then…..very admirable, I’m sure the local community who struggle to make games are over the moon.
  21. You're quite right, I shouldn't be on a Rovers messageboard talking about attending Saturdays game, how insensitive of me. As you're a poster with the local community at heart, you must be on the fans forum? or the board of the Rovers Trust maybe? Lobbying Waggott at every turn on ticket prices? Lets hear your story, I'm always ready to be inspired and be a better fan, over to you.
