  1. Here are the clubs with arguably better budgets, transfer market says it’s more: Fulham Bournemouth Forest Boro West Brom Reading QPR Swansea Cardiff Stoke City Derby are paying massive wages. Bristol City spent £25m+ on players only recently.
  2. Absolutely nothing to support that theory other than these awful owners have turned off the tap. If they refuse to fund signings you could have a point, but even on a shoe string, as we have seen this season, the manager has outperformed most of the opposition. We are a mid table club with a mid table budget, punching above out weight.
  3. "Bloody rubbish him, what do we want a kid from Southampton for" 😀
  4. My dad was one of them Neil, I always remember when Kenny took over as manager: "Bloody rubbish, what do we want him for" After promotion: "Bloody rubbish, nearly blew it for us though didn't he, bloody rubbish" Its in the Blackburn gene pool I'm sure, my grandad was the same and the Mrs says I'm going the same way. 🤣
  5. The older fans at the time used to say, after falling at the final fence several times: "The board don't want to go up, if they did who would pay the wages"
  6. No excuse for missing a penalty at this level, same with hitting the first man at corners, these are things you can practice. Keepers can make a good save, thats acceptable, but the 2 powderpuff efforts recently have probably cost us 6 points, 6 points we can ill afford to give up at this stage.
  7. I can still see that now, if it wasn't for the net it would still be travelling.
  8. We had a period in the late 80's where we seemed to miss a penalty every week. Howard Gayle, Garner and Kennedy all guilty if memory serves me correctly, it seemed to go on for the 2nd half of the season, with Gayle missing one in the playoff final home leg, not sure if it all happened in the same season. Absolute madness, unbelievable to witness, as the customary wheels came off the promotion campaign.
  9. Where would we be without Venkys, our saviours.
  10. I’ve just watched probably the best fight since Fury v Wilder. Conlon vrs Wood - brilliant fight, some concerns over Conlon right now, but my god what a fight. Hope the lads ok.
  11. Sheff Utd keeper off the line to save the pen, but you make your own luck, asking a ref to be competent in this division is a bridge to far.
  12. Forest Green can’t buy a win, but the point still stands. There owners won’t have heard of Mark Hughes and if he’s any sense he’d never work for them either.
  13. I think you do the fans a disservice here. Some matches under Allardyce in the Prem often pulled 17/18k home fans, 13.500 with 25 from Bristol isn’t bad considering the past 10yrs of shite.
  14. 67-4 - come on England
  15. Just to put this one to bed and the reason why we never signed Maja in January 2022, they wanted a perm deal. You should be careful accusing people of making things up islander. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/19838276.bordeaux-stance-josh-maja-blackburn-rovers-make-ryan-hedges-move/ https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/blackburn-rovers-provided-transfer-update-on-23-year-old-striker/ The Lancashire Telegraph has been told that Bordeaux are looking to raise funds in the January window with Maja one of the players able to leave. However, it is understood they would want a fee of at least £3m for the Nigeria international who has 18 months left to run on his deal. The striker has been a rumoured target for the club for quite some time now and the latest report from the Lancashire Telegraph claims that a deal could be done if Rovers want him this month but it would have to be a long-term rather than a short-term agreement.
  16. It was reported in The Lancashire Telegraph islander, as I quoted to you and booth a few days ago, £3m we were quoted. You’ve said it isn’t true, you obviously know more than the local paper, can we see why you know better? It’s irrelevant by the way, but as you’re calling my account into question, or Rich Sharpes….
  17. You wouldn't know that first of all and its irrelevant anyway. That was our deal, take it or leave it and we left it. Billionaire owners eh........
  18. Man City don’t play with strikers, maybe he was channelling his inner Pep when signing the lad from Spurs, I’ve no idea, but that deal fits the Venky criteria. On Maja, Bordeaux wanted £3m for Maja, in January or at the end of a loan and we don’t have £3m, the rest is history.
  19. He was priced out of his number 1 target Maja, the owners could have made that deal happen, where was the Armstrong money? But without doubt, he could have loaned a striker, the Spurs lad was supposed to fill that role, even though he’s not an out and out striker.
  20. This isn’t our first rodeo pal, you could see this coming a mile off, we saw it season after season in 70’s and 80’s when injuries hit. The owners had a chance to throw the kitchen sink at it in January and couldn’t care less.
  21. Final countdown blasting out now.
  22. Hope everyone’s ok @Paul Mellelieu
  23. Talk about a song being ruined..... I understand arbitro's point above, but I hate that song, its been destroyed by seemingly every sport latching on to it.
