  1. Fronted by a real working class hero, tune isn't bad either:
  2. Happy Christmas one and all, lets hope for a triumphant Blackburn Rovers New Year. I posted this on the other side of the forum but I want as many people as possible to see this. The program was on BBC2 last night and I have to say after an awful 2yrs it was so uplifting. Blackburn/Darwen folk coming through adversity, had the Mrs in tears, not me though 🙄 BBC iplayer, well worth a watch, made me so proud to be from the town. https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m0012yqs/blackburn-sings-christmas-with-gareth-malone
  3. You're more than making up for it on here though Ian 😉 All the best to you pal.
  4. I've been one of his biggest supporters throughout the life of this thread because I understand what its like working for a dysfunctional organisation, with incompetent leaders and useless/non existent exec team. In situations such as that you can only come to work and do your best and I believe Mowbray has always done that and will continue to do so. Sadly for me, this current run is only temporary, we don't have the squad or the strength in depth to continue along this path, but my god I'd love to be proven wrong. When the side hits the buffers the knives will be out wanting Mowbray gone, but the more savvy amongst us will realise that given more time and a few quid to bolster the squad, next season could be even better. Watching the side right now is the best its been for a decade or more, enjoy it, support it, you just never know... Happy Christmas to you all.
  5. Absolutely superb, what a really uplifting 60 minutes that was Tony, Lancashire folk at their best in the face of adversity. https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m0012yqs/blackburn-sings-christmas-with-gareth-malone
  6. We don't anymore, we sacked him over the summer.....
  7. Our local foodbank (In Yorkshire) has had to stop taking donations as we have nowhere else to store them! This means that our local community, many having to make a decision between eating or heating, will be both warm and full this Christmas which is great news. Please donate where possible, many will go hungry this Christmas and just imagine being out on the streets on a night like last night, absolutely freezing... https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/news/19758147.rovers-fans-urged-buy-blanket-help-homeless/ https://benefitmankind.co.uk/ https://blackburn.foodbank.org.uk/
  8. I was just looking at the ticket allocation and noticed Hull City do not allow children under 2yrs old into the stadium? I've never seen that before? What is the thinking behind that? Anyway, just over 3000 tickets for Rovers fans, those would have sold out for sure if Sky hadn't decided at the last minute to televise the game..... Hull City 1 Rovers 1
  9. Try reading between the lines for once Rev, don't take everything so literal, he's sending a message, its clearly passed you and one or two others by.......
  10. He said The Riverside…..If you have to explain it…..
  11. Thats been going on since 70's that I know of.
  12. Biggest con on the internet at the moment NFT's, stay well clear, they have zero real life value. Crypto on the other hand has some real life benefits, we should create a thread on the other side of the forum to discuss.
  13. Time for Butler to be dropped, he put Smith down on zero this morning, we need a change behind the stumps.
  14. Jack and John Williams would never have allowed us to get into this scenario in the first place, as history quite clearly shows us. As Tony says above, succession planning is part of the role, Waggott probably doesn't have the tools in his locker to adopt such a plan. Do you think the teams around us are in the same strife as we could potentially find ourselves? I'd say not, which already gives them a significant advantage over us for the run in.
  15. We could potentially lose 5 first team players shortly, can you ever remember a time when that happened under John Williams? I'll answer for you, no ney never, because John and Jack would never have allowed the place to be run by a third rate CEO and bargain basement owners.
  16. Just a shout out to Derek Chisora who lost a points decision last night to Joseph Parker, the mans an absolute warrior. He's not the most gifted of boxers but in the heart stakes you'll struggle to find anyone better. He looked down and out many times last night but came back, he was out on his feet, but came back, just bravery beyond the belief. I hope he hangs up his gloves, I've been one of his critics over the years, but what a warrior, absolute box office. They both shared burgers in the dressing room after smashing each other for 12 rounds. https://twitter.com/DerekWarChisora?ref_src=twsrc^google|twcamp^serp|twgr^author Brilliant.
  17. Before venkys destroyed us, under real footballing people, I had every confidence that winning cups and pots was always just around the corner domestically, so England winning the world cup was always the holly grail and I'd have agreed with you roverandout. Having followed the national side for many years, home and away, the country deserves a world cup, the fans deserve a world cup and I hope to see one won before I pop my clogs. But now, under this lot, I'm hoping promotion will see back of them, so its promotion for me.
  18. Yesterdays game is traditionally one of the worst attended games of the season, with it being the last Saturday shopping day before Christmas, the attendance was very good in my opinion taking everything into consideration. Make no mistake, if we keep up the current run of form and give the fans something to get behind we'll see attendances increasing significantly week on week and the already superb away support will be off the scale. I'd expect us to sell out at Hull in normal times, but with Covid running wild across the country that could be severely impacted and maybe even cancelled.
  19. I always refer comments like this back to "What would John Williams have done"? He first of all wouldn't have allowed the situation to get to this point, but now he'd be moving heaven and earth to get these players signed up, knowing not only would the promotion push go down the pan if they don't, but to replace them would cost more than to sell them. This contract debacle has been just one of the many blind spots for these owners throughout their time here, we've been dogged by unrest and lack of action or communication from the owners on contracts, Lambert left partly because of this, Berg took them to the high court. Whether its the playing side or backroom staff they don't agree with contracts and you can't run a football club like that. We have billionaire owners, sign the cheques and give Mowbray the best chance in a decade to get this club back into the Premiership, thats what Jack would have done.
  20. We sell Brereton in January and that’s the season gone. I doubt the squad can compete until May as it is, but you don’t sell your top goal scorer and go up.
  21. They already are doing, gates are up. Will the owners show the ambition the fans deserve and support the club to get us back to where they found us? We are about to find out.
  22. Absolutely gutted I missed it, been walking around the house kicking a dog I don’t have…… We’ll done to the players, the fans and most importantly to the manager who is making this happen. Onwards and upwards.
