  1. His performances so far are not signalling that Tony, he was going to Rangers until Gerrard left and was playing his best football since his arrival from Oxford. At this stage in proceedings he should stay and get his head down, unless Mowbray can once again pull a rabbit out of the hat to replace his undoubted quality.
  2. If only Carlsberg did football clubs.......😉 Rothwell clearly doesn't think we've much chance of going up wanting to jump ship like this, does he know something we don't.
  3. This may come as a shock to you Rev, but I'm not a decision maker at Ewood, I offer my opinion only on a messageboard, I'd make Rothwell stay if I was the manager, no 180 here. Do I really need to explain this to you? The owners are meddling in team affairs and no amount of deflection from you will change that.
  4. That decision is the managers to make not the bloody owners.
  5. The owners meddling in team affairs, who would have thought it....... Let the bloody manager manage, he's doing pretty well so far you morons.
  6. We went on the ale at lunchtime in penwortham, then caught the train into Preston and ended up in The Fox at Ewood after the game. Great day, promotions don’t come around that often as Blackburn Rovers fans, we should embrace them.
  7. I’m sure many of us will never forget this night out in Preston, one Jack Walker. A proper club run by proper footballing people, not a contract rebel in sight.
  8. With the greatest of respect the money means nothing with 3 days in the transfer window to go, taking the money is just bonkers. Rothwell has been outstanding in recent weeks and we shouldn’t even contemplate selling and just taking the money unless we have a better incoming player. Thankfully Mowbray knows the score.
  9. You tell them Tony: “Joe won’t get a move unless the other moves are done. We’re not daft. “Joe Rothwell will not be leaving unless we feel we’re strengthening the team. “The job at the start of every window is to strengthen your football club if you can, we can’t leave it worse off.” In Tony we trust.
  10. Tell him he's staying until the summer, he needs to continue playing the best football of his life, job done If he doesn't put a shift in, get Linehan to give him a kicking in the car park, I'll happily nip down and help.
  11. Keep your tips to yourself then.
  12. Very good result today at a ground we've not won at in the league for over 30yrs. Today highlights the fact we've no real strength in depth, one or two players out and we struggle. Nobody should be allowed to leave over the next few days and we absolutely must bring 2 further quality players in and even that may not be enough. Tony Mowbray and this young group of players are punching well above their weight, I'm proud of everyone of them, they've brought some pride back into the club, town and shirt. Safe journey home to the tremendous support that made the long journey today and we go again. Onwards and upwards,
  13. I know what your point is, I disagree with it. I refer you to my previous comment, would this have been allowed under Walker and Williams? The answer to that question is a firm no, they ran a proper football club. If we had spent the past 10yrs getting wages under control and not pissing money down the drain I'd be inclined to hold out on contracts, but these owners have never attempted to get wages under control, they couldn't care less, so give these players what they want and sign them up, job done, promotion campaign boost right there. But no, we're hiding behind some bullshit wage cap that doesn't exist, or if it does, was brought in this summer to explain why we missed out on most of our original targets. Never refused to sign a check? Ask Henning Berg if thats true, or the local businesses that never got paid when we went down under king rat.
  14. Where have you been for the past 10yrs Paul? This lot have handled everything badly, I'm still waiting for Hoilett to sign........ I look at it this way, would the club under Williams and Walker have allowed 3 or 4 first team regulars in 1992 or 2001 squads to run down the contracts in the promotion season? Not a bleedin chance! Its not like we're getting the wages under control at the club, they've been off the scale for past 10yrs under this shower and will remain so because they couldn't care less, its pocket change to them.
  15. Rovers flag on the boundary in Barbados and Rovers fan Livingston takes a wickets. Come on England.
  16. Plays for Man City and Belgium, you know the chap, best midfield player in the world? Then again, maybe you don't...
  17. So when Kevin de Bruyne tells Man City he wants to sign to Blackburn Rovers you'd say no thanks? He had his budget slashed in the summer, but bought really well. Armstrong and Brereton when a fee was involved, Kaminsky too, Rothwell? We are threadbare right now, we need quality/experience bringing into the club to get us over the line, otherwise an injury or 2 sees us tail off. Its been that way since I started watching us 70's, we always tailed off because our squad can't cope, surely you see that right now?
  18. How many times have posters on this site told you? It has nothing to do with the current manager or CEO, we've had severe FFP problems since Venkys walked through the door, its the owners who are responsible, not the 4 managers who have been hamstrung by FFP under this lot. They sacked legends of the club when they arrived in the name of getting wages under control, they failed, they still fail today and you're the only one who can't see it. Shit or bust this right now Rev, they should put or sod off.
  19. Mowbray worked wonders in the summer on a shoestring budget slashed by our billionaire owners, the quality he brought into the club has made a massive difference. His buys for a fee record is second to none, give the man some money you inept morons or risk blowing this opportunity to recoup all the money you've already pissed down the drain. Its simple really.
  20. Sounds like you're looking for the new Danny Graham, which Sam Gallagher will never be, he posses far more skill and pace than Graham and he isn't a target man and never will be unless he piles on the pounds like lard arse Kevin Davies. I agree he needs to work on his control, that comes with playing games at the high tempo we've adopted this season, but Gallagher is an excellent player at this level, a managers dream for his work ethic alone, Downing said the same on Monday, hence why he been given a new contract and quite right too.
  21. I hope you've reported her to NSPCC gumboots, you have an obligation even though its your daughter....
  22. Gallagher plays out of position most games and is still coming back from injury, he defends at corners and free kicks, attacks and generally runs his socks off, he's a mangers dream and scores a few in the process. The knee jerk reaction on here after Hull was embarrassing, he was poor along with 10 others, but the continued criticism of Gallagher makes no sense to anyone who watches us on a regular basis. If you're expecting 20 goals a season from out wide good luck, Gallagher is an excellent player at this level, is still only young and no wonder Mowbray gave him a new contract.
  23. You sell no first team players under any circumstances in this window, we don't need the money, we need promotion and we'll never have a better opportunity than this in my opinion. If I was Mowbray I'd put in a bid for a Bournemouth player, unsettle that lot, like Kenny did with Cantona.
  24. Best wishes to the fan taken ill in the crowd, my thoughts are with you and your family. Every player tonight in Blue n White was a hero, with no Rothwell and no Diaz I thought a draw was the best we could hope for, was I wrong! Sam Gallagher ran himself into the ground and scored a great goal, makes a difference when he plays in his natural position. We rode our luck, we got non at Hull, onwards and upwards. As a Leeds fan said to me tonight, someone has to go up, why not you.
