  1. In footballing terms he's bargain basement, I know several local CEO's on more than him, much more. He's trolling Matty, he also has that snivelling lying cheating rat above Mowbray, need I say more.....
  2. Connor Mahoney Gareth Aimsworth Joe Garner
  3. I don't think having time at a club like ours makes the blindest bit of difference if I'm honest. Kenny didn't need time, he needed funds and support from the board, Souness didn't need time, he needed funds and support from the board. Bournemouth are following that model right now and it will probably reap those rewards, the rest will end up also rans. What Mowbray inherited here was a club heading for relegation, no structure behind the scenes, absent owners and a bean counter running the place. Like it or not he quickly realised he needed support internally and Waggott came in as CEO, the first proper 'footballing man' that had been put in place to support any manager under these owners, the rest have robbed a living. We have a number of posters who understand business, who run successful businesses and you can't run a successful business of any size with absent owners or poor CEO's and no staff. Thats what our owners have been trying to do since 2011 and look where we ended up. We now have a CEO, he's getting better in his role, but he shouldn't be learning on the job, he's not the calibre we need, but he's cheap, the Venky model for mediocrity. Mowbray and his young side are bucking the trend this season, what he's achieved so far on a limited budget with limited options, as I keep saying has been tremendous. He missed out on most of his number 1 targets in the summer, priced out by the competition by all accounts, yet it seems on the face of it his new head of recruiting earned his corn and they pulled more than a few rabbits out of the hat, hence the season so far. This season may well end in disappointment, we simply don't have the quality of squad to compete at this level for a full season in my opinion. But this season on a personal note has reignited some of the passion, brought a bit of pride back into the town and the football club and thats down to Mowbray and these players. He deserves a new deal on the back of this season, I'd much rather have him than the rubbish on the dole at the moment.
  4. I’ve just looked it up, 1971 I think jodrell? King Georges has had some brilliant bands on over the years. The Beatles and Roy Orbison on the same night, Bowie and The Jam plus many many more.
  5. If we makes the playoffs this season he should be offered a new contract, he doesn't need to make the final for me. He's out performing all the clubs and managers with massive budgets around us, its been a tremendous effort by Tony and his team.
  6. Superb stuff, you've clearly got the sweet spot in terms of advertising, my relative clearly has not.
  7. Have you actually done some analysis Armchair, has it brought in some decent leads that turned into business? A close relative owns his own landscaping business, struggles to get traction on social media, very little interest but that could be down to the garish colours on his site!!
  8. I think we’ll smash our championship points total this season, progression wouldn’t you say and being top 6 for months isn’t something we’ve experienced under Venkys.
  9. No assumptions here, It’s good to have you back.
  10. I don’t think it’s gone unnoticed that you disappeared during the fantastic run we’ve been on, but have now miraculously reappeared after a few losses, Houdini like and it’s great to have you back. This will probably be our best ever season in the championship under these owners, certainly Mowbrays best points total, it’s hardly treading water or regression, it’s progress season upon season.
  11. You didn't answer the question, you criticised Mowbray for sending players out on loan, player that weren't getting a game, we replaced them with players that are challenging for the first team, more of less evened the numbers up, wouldn't you agree? If you don't like it maybe ask the mods for help, the ignore function could be just the job. Thats how things work around here, we don't shut down debate because we don't like the opinion.
  12. We replaced most of them with potentially better players, wouldn't you agree?
  13. We haven't been found out at all, we are running on empty because of the threadbare squad. January was a wonderful opportunity to push on, these owners meddled in the Rothwell deal and failed to support the manager to secure that 2nd position and we are where we are......
  14. I'm going through a Fleetwood Mac phase at the moment after watching several documentaries on the band recently. I've always had a passing interest, played Tango in the night to death in 80's but Rumours has taken on new meaning and what an album. 2 couples in the band splitting up during its conception and an affair with a lighting engineer, brutal lyrics that Buckingham and Nicks are still feuding over after all these years. Just brilliant.
  15. You've more front than Blackpool.
  16. I served my apprenticeship under a grizzly old sod, mad keen Rover, who went to that game on the football special from Blackburn station. He grunted at me for 4yrs, then the day I came out of my time, from that day on, he was full of stories about Rovers and an wonderful chap.
  17. Another excellent Mowbray signing, great news on the contract extension. Who was it who said he’d be sold in January?
  18. You could be right, 70,000 comes to mind.
  19. 81/82 full match - Some terrace that on the far side.
  20. Looks like someone has uploaded a Charlton history DVD:
  21. Knowing the type of chap Mowbray is, he'll not want anything to distract from the footballing side of things, so I bet its on the backburner. It won't be a popular theory on here, but all the same it certainly seems that way. I can think of plenty of examples where the managers contract situation would be all over the press, put there by the manager himself, but not in this case.
  22. If he does manage to squeeze us into the playoffs it would be a tremendous achievement from the season as a whole, if we miss out it would obviously be disappointing considering where we are. @Wegerleswiggle has is spot on above, look at the teams we're competing with, Forest for example have spent over 30m in recent seasons assembling that side, we've spent £2.99 in the bargain basement.
  23. I hope you’re wrong 47er and I’m sure you do too.
  24. Thankfully this kind of tripe is mostly confined to social media, it’s laughable really. Mowbray has his faults, but what he’s achieved this season has so far been phenomenal. The team, manager and Rovers fans home and away are all pulling in one direction and we still have a great chance of going up. Its a long time since I’ve been proud to support my football club, this season has brought some pride and passion back and long may that continue. Onwards and upwards.
