  1. They were just badly advised IraC, they've learnt the lesson now I'm sure. Have contracts for our well established squad team players been signed yet? Or are we looking at cheap players with inflated commissions to fill those gaps 😤
  2. If only Carlsberg did Blackburn Rovers managerial recruitment Mike.
  3. If that’s the conclusion you’ve come to from reading my posts on Mowbray, I’ll draw you a picture next time. Its your mates in Pune that are the problem, you don’t want to hear it, they’ll never come good despite your cheerleading.
  4. I agree with you. You also need to factor in they’ll only deal with certain agencies and the pool of candidates reduces even further. What a way to run a football club.
  5. I hope it’s not going to be that long until the Pune 3 sod off🙏
  6. I've never read anyone claim Mowbrays a managerial guru Wheelton, I'm off the opinion that we will continue to fail regardless of the who the manager is, 10yrs proves that point. If that offends anyone, I couldn't care less to be honest.
  7. I didn't attend the Fulham game no, but lets not pretend we've not had bad results over the years, embarrassing results too, I've been at most of them. When those goals went in yesterday it was a superb feeling, coming from 0-1 down, the best I've felt for a long time I can tell you. Look at the joy on the faces in Blackburn End when Brereton scored in the link chaddy posted, priceless, absolutely priceless.
  8. We’ve had 8 managers in 10yrs, it’s a strategy that clearly works….. I won’t call anyone a fool, it’s all a matter of opinion, but as I keep saying, changing managers won’t change our current situation for the better, but equally I wouldn’t lose any sleep over the club sacking Mowbray. It’s all about the long game for me, that’s getting rid of these inept and incompetent owners.
  9. Well it’s only been 10yrs hasn’t it, let’s give them another 10 just to be sure, they deserve it.
  10. We've take 9 points from the last 12 Rev, just for the record, but carry on.
  11. My apologies, I wasn’t aware of the full context. Who is getting sacked?
  12. I was once part of a group conversation with John Williams about Benny McCarthy and his attempts to force a move to Chelsea, this is nothing new Matty.
  13. I was talking to a Boro fan last night who was delighted Warnock had been sacked, his comment: "You can only blame the referee and linesman so many times before that excuse starts to wear thin, he took no responsibility for poor results and his football was appalling" On Mowbray he was gushing with praise for the most part but he did say that he'd definitely lost the plot towards the end of his time managing the club, playing players out of position and strange formations, sounds familiar I told him. He told a story about a supporters Q&A where a young lad around 10/12yrs old asked Mowbray why he wasn't playing xxxx player and Mowbray explained he was a good player but didn't fit the formation, the lad was gutted. After the event was over Mowbray spent 30 minutes with the salt and pepper pots explain the formation and why xxxx didn't fit in, which I thought was a great story, a nice touch. "Would you have him back" I asked "If we want to get back into the Premiership he's not the man" He thinks Wilder will get the job.
  14. Now now @bazza a little less positivity if you don’t mind 😀 Seriously though your post sums things up nicely, I’m sure everyone feared the worse conceding so early in the game, but the lads showed character and bottle, credit to them all, superb stuff. Onwards and upwards.
  15. AJ Odudu - Doing Blackburn proud, with the odd reference to the mighty Blackburn Rovers thrown in for good measure.
  16. @Paul Mani Stop the cock waving, its embarrassing. Did you tell this site that Mowbray was going to be sacked in March/April 2021? Replaced by Alex Neil? Or have I got that wrong?
  17. A weeks a long time in football, you could hardly contain your excitement last week after the derby win 😃
  18. When you come to terms with the fact that we are a mid-table Championship club and it doesn't get any better until those rats in Pune leave the sinking ship, its a much better place to be bazza. I've also just spoken to a mate of mine taking his 5 kids for the first time today, they're off the scale with excitement at the prospect of going to the football. Its not all bad now is it.
  19. Despite all the negativity surrounding the club after Wednesdays mauling by Fulham, I'm still of the opinion that the players are playing for the manager, they're all pulling in the right direction. With that in mind, for the thousands of Rovers fans near and far, lets have a performance today that we can all be proud of, my god we deserve one after that shambles on Wednesdays. Come on Rovers.
  20. I saw an interview with Ryan Nelson recently, superb captain, loved by the fans and very well respected. He was called up by Barry Chuckle (Agnew) out of the blue and told to pack his bags, clean out his locker, say bye to nobody and leave the clubs training ground immediately, the owners had released him from his contract without any discussion whatsoever. Within 24hrs he'd signed for Spurs and Barry Chuckle was back on the phone asking what he was playing at, the club now wanted a transfer fee for him, needless to say he was told to piss off. These aren't isolated incidents for badly advised owners, they systematically dismantled that squad to cut costs to the bone, its bordering on criminal with some evidence to support that allegedly. Anyone now telling me that they're willing to listen, they're willing to learn, they're talking to fans, whilst we languish in midtable championship obscurity because of that kind of behaviour, can go forth and multiply with the greatest of respect.
  21. The club is a basket case and will remain so until the owners leave, the majority know that, we just have to wait for the day to come. But what I would say is the current setup, Waggott CEO, Mowbray manager and Cheston CFO is the closest proper football club structure we have had since Venkys sacked Allardyce and forced Williams out. For years we've had Cheston counting beans in the morning and working with managers in the afternoon on the playing side, no wonder we've struggled to sign players to contracts. Before that we had a bunch of chancers who filled deep pockets with loot and headed for hills to count the spoils, hopefully karma evens the score with those rats one day. Taken in isolation, the current setup is the best we've had den, but the calibre is nowhere near good enough, especially in Waggotts case.
  22. Its strongly rumoured in the press this morning that another defeat for Warnock and he'll be in the dole queue with McCarthy and Houghton. Just further strengthens the point that its not easy to compete in this league with little or no budget against the Premiership parachute mob.
  23. Guilty pleasure? I'm thinking of giving the new ABBA album 'Voyage' a spin. Greatest pop band ever.
  24. We've not had an angry crowd since King **** and relegation against Wigan at home, i wouldn't hold your breath sgig.
  25. Your first line is spot on, I couldn't agree more. I agree with him, the gulf between Premiership clubs coming down and mid table clubs like us is massive, he's just being honest. Look at the teams that went up last season, look at the teams that will go up this season, but budgets, big wages and flush with Premiership money. We can't pay the wages of a poor loan signings that nobody else wants, the taps been turned off. As for the list of managers, both McCarthy and Houghton have just been fired after disastrous tenures with clubs plummeting towards league one, Mowbray has us mid table, a position both those managers would have given right arms for. Nothing wrong with an ambitious manager, I agree with you islander, we deserve better, much better.
