Finished The Yorkshire Ripper last night, very good den. The thing that strikes me every time I watch anything on Ripper is how the police demonised/categorised those poor women, more or less saying they deserved it. Different times I know, but shocking to see these days.

Was that Whisper Death ‘Michael Holding’ pummelling Close and Edrich? Close with no helmet and very little protection, just brutal, no wonder Botham looked up to Close. Tough tough men.

The first thing that strikes me is the massive following on a Friday night, we have always had great support when doing well. That draw was a turning point for me, I was distraught after the Leicester game, Palace was fresh in the mind, but it was full steam ahead and we never looked back. Great memories.

We all argue like cat and dog, but we all have one thing in common and that is we support the biggest and best club from a small town in Lancashire. Football goes in cycles, we'll come again one day, I just hope I'm around to see it. All the best to everyone who makes this site worth visiting and I want to make a special mention to the mods who do a fantastic job often in difficult circumstances. The beers are on me, see you in the Blues Bar on Boxing day, put your tipple on my tab 👍 9 points from the next 3 games would be tremendous, but I'd take 7 now. Happy Christmas one and all. Don't forget - The Futures Bright, the future will always be blue and white.

Kevin 'Rooster' Russell - Another one I can still see vividly after all these years. Mimms was always prone to a mistake or 3...

My son mentioned this a few days ago, I’ll certainly be taking a look.

Hughes spent £10m on Savage and Bellamy alone, £30m in todays market, but yes he recouped plenty from sales. Since he left Ewood he's been seen more of a chequebook manager - £140m at Stoke I read recently, what was he thinking....
-
I loved Mark Hughes time at Ewood, almost brought back the Kenny years, I couldn't wait for the next game to come, superb. As for him coming back, not a chance, he needs money to build a side and wouldn't work with the 3 stooges in Pune, its a pipe dream sadly. We have 3 very winnable games coming up, if Mowbray can get 7 points from 3 I'd be more than happy with the current injury crisis, sets us up nicely for the NY. He's going nowhere, best to get behind him I say.

I noticed earlier today that Jacques Kallis has joined the England coaching staff as batting consultant. I think it’s for the Sri Lanka tour only at this stage but what a player he was, let’s hope some of the magic rubs off.
-
I was stood right behind that shot, it still hurts now.... Bull and Mutch for Wolves were a great partnership, scored bags or goals, but neither made it in the top flight, but Bull played for England as a second division player, not many have done that over the years.
-
This is one of my favourites from back in the day, against Liverpool at a packed Ewood, you can see Jim sat on the cinder track if you look carefully enough.
-
I love this photo, before my time, but I was always struck by the crowds back in those days, packed in, a great shot of The Riverside and Darwen End, fabulous den.

Cheered me up no end that pal. The news yesterday that Rovers legend Ronnie Hill had sadly passed away has really knocked us for six in our house. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/news/18945952.ronnie-hill-tributes-paid-devoted-family-man-legend-blackburn-rovers-supporters-scene/ Wonderful guy - RIP Ronnie - Rovers Legend.
-
Doncaster was fantastic, a brilliant night Darren. Promotion is promotion, both equally as good for me, throw Preston and Bury into the mix also.
-
I think this deserves to be in the celebrity section. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/news/18945952.ronnie-hill-tributes-paid-devoted-family-man-legend-blackburn-rovers-supporters-scene/ I knew Ronnie from watching Rovers over many years, a lovely man and a more dedicated Rovers fan you'll struggle to meet. I was aware he'd not been well, this has just knocked me/us sideways..... If you're reading this Mackey and the GT Harwood lot - We're thinking about you all. RIP Ronnie - Rovers legend.

Can we get to the Tranmere game as soon as possible please, I'm worried sick we'll not go up 😪 I can't sleep properly, I'm not eating properly and the Mrs isn't speaking to me because apparently: "I think more about football than I do about our relationship"

3 points, job done. 5 points off a playoff place, players to come back in, let’s hope we can push on, that’s what we all want. The futures bright, the futures Blue n White......isn’t it? -
Doubled up as a cricket ground I believe renrag? Thanks for the photo Rasa 👍

Its not often a Rovers photograph comes along these days that I've not seen before, but this is one of them, thanks for sharing. I want to say its taken at the back of Nuttall Street stand?
-
Lived down Pleasington near the Butlers, or used to, nice chap. RIP George.
-
Seen it before, years ago, B&W I think Tyrone? Very good.
-
Didn't know where to put this, Rovers craft larger and beer, good news I'd say: https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/news/18938161.why-not-beer-supports-club-says-craft-beer-company/

Gerard Houllier has died aged 73. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/55300386

Its not your job to sack the manager either but you seem to have no trouble forming an opinion on that. Let me help you, Matt suggested Pearson or Hughes yesterday, I'd go with either one of those, it won't happen of course, if Mowbray was sacked we'd probably end up with Monk, fighting relegation.

I've not asked him Sparks, he went very quiet after the first few rounds, but I can guarantee he never cashed out. Pulev was bleeding tough, some of those shots he took would have put away most heavyweights, landing flush too. Lawrence Okolie was the star of the evening, that lads going places, he was a league above the Polish fighter, but what power, what a unit.
