  1. Brentford have pulled in £120m over the past 5yrs on player sales, thats some war chest, we could only dream of such riches these days. Its not hard to do the maths chaps, we've pulled in £1.99 and a couple of packs of Venky chicken. We can't compete.
  2. Once you accept the likes of Norwich, Stoke, Bournemouth, Watford, Brentford and Swansea have much bigger budgets, massive budgets if only in term of wages, you'll be in a much better place EA.
  3. No chance, sorry J*B, thanks for putting it out there, but thats not true from the website you're looking at. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2001/dec/30/newsstory.sport1 £7.6M according to The Guardian.
  4. Much bigger than ours, Fletcher, Allen, Obi Mikel, Vokes and Ince. We're not in Stokes league really are we?
  5. FUCKING HELL (Apologies K-Hod and the mods) Andy Cole is still our most expensive signing at £8m? Is that including wages 😪 I feel sick...
  6. That's criminal....but nowhere near Stokes budget by the way, Allen and Obi Mikel are on a fortune compared to us. Can you tell me how much we've spent since 1990? Or does it not go back that far?
  7. We probably haven't spent £90m in our entire history I'd wager. Just sayin.
  8. Mark Hughes spent £90m at Stoke by the time he was sacked in 2018, we were spent £1.7m that year. Mowbrays comments are nonsense, but some perspective maybe.
  9. The art of good comedy is to know when to exit stage left, taxi for Hoochie. (But I'm still laughing over someone poaching of Mowbray) 😆 Brilliant.
  10. Now thats funny 😂😂
  11. Supporting his team booth, thats part of the deal isn't it?
  12. Because Venkys say so, fans can't sack the manager.
  13. Could be worse, we could be Derby.
  14. Where is that photo taken? Is that The Brownhill pub in the background?
  15. I had a season ticket in 80's, all my mates did too, so I don't recognise your first sentence at all, reduced season ticket numbers was more about the product on the pitch than the buying culture. History tells us that our gates will remain steady and season ticket sales play no part in that, so lets agree to disagree 👍
  16. Lets forget the premiership seasons, they're long gone, no basis whatsoever on future attendance discussions unless we get back there. Lets talk abut the past 3/4 seasons, season ticket numbers have declined we are led to believe, gates have stayed more or less the same, give or take. This assertion that gates will drop if season tickets sales drop simply isn't born out by the facts as we have them Matty. We had extremely poor season ticket sales in 80's for the most part, gates stayed the same, 8000 regulars, 12,000 on a good day, promotion campaign. Its always been the same and will continue to be so in my humble opinion.
  17. I never mentioned selling 8/9k season tickets, I'm talking about fans through the gates, be it a mixture of weekly buying of tickets and season tickets. Our season ticket numbers have dropped over recent years, our gates have not, your predication above hasn't happened so far and prices went up, I think? If season ticket prices go up further, people will buy weekly, we have a hardcore support, they will always come through the gates in my opinion.
  18. The gates don't support the assertion Matty. You put Blackburn Rovers mid table Premiership next season and we'd have 15-17k locals through the turnstiles week in week out. We remain mid table championship and you'll see 10-14k - I believe we have a hardcore of 8k who will continue to go even if they had to kiss Waggotts backside on the way in. Season ticket sales could drop, but its not hard to get a tickets, what Waggott does or does not do will not impact on these numbers on my opinion.
  19. Spot on and you'll be joined by thousands more feeling exactly the same way Ossy. Its not a difficult concept to understand, you improve the product on the pitch and you fill the stands, its been that way since time immemorial, Blackburn Rovers are no different as we've seen throughout our lifetimes. If we maintain our current position gates will stay the same, we have a hardcore of support, always have had always will have. I never give the CEO/Chairman a second thought, I don't have any interest in what deals he's putting in place or how much season tickets are, I just go to games when I can, its in the blood, thats how it works. The elephants in the room at sat in Pune, they do deserve consideration because they're idiots who have destroyed a legacy, you never know what they'll do next.
  20. I've seen some awful batting displays in my time, but this was right up there ojf. The Sri Lankans aren't in a good place at the moment, we should win this one easily.
  21. That was at the end of Bob Saxtons time I seem to recall? Saxton was always on a hiding to nothing because Kendall proved to be one of English footballs greatest managers in my opinion, big shoes to fill. Howards only mistake was loaning Keeley to Everton who duly got sent off in his first game, the MERSEYSIDE DERBY, where he upended Kenny clean through on goal, he was immediately sent back to Ewood. But we digress.
  22. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/news/18999642.blackburn-superfan-frames-lancashire-telegraph-front-pages-year-rovers-won-league/ On a personal note I paid a small fortune back in the 90's for 2 footballs, on separate occasions, signed by the Championship winning team. I wasn't present at the auctions and never saw the footballs beforehand, but both supported my 2 favourite local charities. When they arrived, on further inspection, they're both missing our England contingent, they must have been away on international duty when both footballs were signed........... I couldn't exactly ask for my money back 😪
  23. In the interests of balance and fair play, nobody said our average gates were as low as 5000, apologies if I wasn't clear, I certainly didn't mean that. We have had a number of poor gates over the years, but the average was never as low as 5000 I'm sure. I do recall being one of the hardy bunch on the league cup 2nd leg match at Ewood against Wimbledon? Having been hammered in the first leg away with just over 2000 hardy souls hoping for a miracle, but those gates were few are far between.
  24. You missed the point again Matty. I agree with you on most things, but we'll leave this one here.
  25. We spent 12 seasons in division 2 from 1980 - 1992 - I never thought for one minute we'd end up in the 1st Division until Jack came along in 87/88. We have spent 3 season in division 2 under Mowbray, I also don't think for one minute under these owners we'll end up in the premiership, but we don't ever give up. That is the point. Bb. As for division 3 and our superior budget, the same applies in division 2, we can' t complete with the front runners budgets, is that a valid excuse like it was for promotion from div 3? First of all I said 70's/80's was mostly devoid of success, which it was, but we never gave up, that was the point you and one of two others seem to have missed. The final sentence is just rubbish.
