I saw some of it TS, the players were much sturdier back then and when they passed the ball they mean't it!

It a great British institution o2g and I do exactly the same. I read that Geoffrey has retired which is a shame, but with his recent heart trouble you can't blame him.

I agree with much of that Riversider, I really miss the cricket, not so much the football. Looking forward to the upcoming tests with WI.

That Gazza miss ranks alongside the Pedersen header at Old Trafford in the semi final of the cup, 2 incidents that play over in your mind time and time again.... Both looked easier to score and I'm sure if the players had the chance again the outcomes would have been very different.

Has anyone watched Shearers Euro 96 on BBC1 tonight? How close did we come to winning that tournament? A great time to be and England fan and more importantly a great time to be a Blackburn Rovers supporter. Almost a tear in the eye, superb stuff.

Moving house currently and came across these, the one on Bolton Road was ours, got chased down the railway line by the police towards The Manxman pub just as the burnley escort came past the Infirmary, happy days, never did get to empty those tins of blue and white paint. The other was on M65 near whitebirk, not ours but superb. We went up, they didn't.

I loved the docks first time around, my favourite by far, but on the 2nd watching I’m not to sure now, but it’s all superb.

I've been watching Ricky and Ralf's very Northern Road Trip on Gold - Its not the greatest production but for any Royal Family/Ricky Tomlinson fans its a great watch. Liverpool to Newcastle via Lakes, Ribble Valley, Bradford, Whitby......its a good watch/laugh in these testing times. Just watched season 4 of The Wire - The School district - Superb stuff, its not as good as The Sopranos, but its not far behind, season 5 next.

Great article Alex, thanks for that.

I've always fancied going to Lasan, but not made it yet - https://lasan.co.uk/ I'm pretty traditional when it comes to curry, I like all varieties with a couple of beers, but fine dining? I'm not sure?

Loads of good ones IB, some really good street food places also. Birmingham has really upped its game in the last 10/15yrs for me.

Outside of Birmingham its pretty poor for curry in my experience down here, my favourite curry place is Hen and Chickens near snowhill train station: https://henandchickens.co.uk/ Not an extensive menu, but what you do get is superb, its a pub that serves Indian food, does it get much better? Akbars is also superb, originated in Bradford and they have a place in Manchester also: https://www.akbars.co.uk/birmingham-akbars

The worst thing about Kuqi, who I liked by the way, was he played with Craig Bellamy who was simply a brilliant footballer, it made him look worse than he was. I used to watch them play together and hope that Bellamy wouldn't get to pissed off at the lack of class alongside him and for the most part I think he put up with it. Pity we couldn't have kept hold of him for longer, bit like Speedie in many ways, 2 legends in my book, but I bet neither player really knows just how much they're loved and admired at Ewood. -
I know this is a bit random, but whilst in Dallas a few years back I was craving a curry and found a small place near the Galleria Mall. I wasn't expecting to much but I have to say its possibly one of the best Indian meals I've had and I've had plenty! I'd been in the states for 5wks at the time so maybe that played a part, very unassuming place but great. http://mughlaidfw.com/

Speedie was absolutely fantastic, we're comparing 2 of the best players in recent Rovers history here, but Bellamy brought the Shearer years back for me. You walked down to Ewood wondering how many he'd score or how many he'd put on a plate for Kuqi to miss, but he was on another level. Tremendous players, we've been blessed, they can't take away our memories chaps -

No never been. Love this place, apologies for taking things off thread mods, I'll stop now - https://www.sottomaresf.com/about.html

I've been to Lazy Bear, straight off the plane from London, jet lagged and didn't enjoy it at all, but that was no reflection on the food, I'm told it was great. In terms of neighbourhoods I mean Little Italy, The Mission district for Mexican food, Pacific Heights/Lower pacific heights, more neighbourhood places where the locals eat rather than Union Square and the Pier (Which are fine by the way). Love the city, but we digress.

Never had a bad meal in the States and I've been all over the country. Florida/Orlando is very different to most other places in States, it caters for mass tourism on a fast food basis, but is still very good quality in my experience. Neighbourhood restaurants in San Francisco are some of the best in the world, the place is a culinary delight if you avoid the tourists traps.

I never felt under the cosh at any point, we dominated the game, looked comfortable throughout I thought. Although I must admit when Kevin 'Rooster' Russell scored the late winner at The Darwen End in the league game I thought we'd blown it. -
