  1. Just to weigh in on the Indian debate, the Sharjan is for people that don't really do Indian food in my opinion, very predictable western themed menu, over priced and portentous, nothing wrong with that if thats your bag. Bhukara's did knock the socks of anything else in the area until the health inspectors came to call, which is a shame really. The Naga at abbey village is well worth a visit, a cut above anything Darwen has to offer in my opinion for the same price. Has anyone eaten at the empress grill restaurant in the Winter Gardens in Blackpool? Thinking of booking in before seeing Bob Dylan in November.
  2. Money talks I guess, to put Khan in with Mayweather is nothing but a money making scheme for both fighters. Mayweather is on a different planet to Khan, but then again who can blame Khan for accepting the fight if it goes ahead? We’re just considering going out for the fight, not been to watch the boxing in Vegas since Hatton fought Malignaggi, we did see Roy Jones v Hopkins but thats got to be the worst ‘fight’ I’ve ever seen so I don’t count that.
  3. Yu and You does lobster, but its a chinese resturant so cooked in that style. San Carlos in Manchester also does some great lobster dishes.
  4. The food rating has really put me off going back to Bukhara, yes its improved, but I ate there when it wasn't up to standard and thats spoiled things for me. If anyone is looking to try somewhere different I'd recommend the Naga at Abbey Village, been many times and never had a bad meal. The chefs specials are fantastic, some fish dishes on the menu to, great place.
  5. Brilliant, absolute comedy genius. Tell you what bob, you're wasted selling sausages for a living you really are.

    Dominic Lee RIP

    Very sad news RIP Dominic
  7. The man had almost singlehandedly kept us in the league, he deserves a knighthood!
  8. They won one for you today Kelbo, could be just the tonic in the fight to stay up.
  9. Not many songs written about Hollands meat pies, although I do recall a regular in the Longside away section when we played Burnley that had plenty of songs about Hollands meat pies.
  10. Baxenden famous at last: http://www.nme.com/news/beady-eye/69681 Good effort lads, its best up North!
  11. Nandos is cr@p in my opinion, but it would be popular I'm sure.
  12. The only thing is, the people we're talking about have more money than they can ever spend, so unless its other people betting on the demise of the club, I can't get my head around it Abbey?
  13. I tell you what, I've never been more convinced that they're trying to get us relegated with seemingly weekly turmoil after turmoil, asian betting markets anyone?
  14. Really sad news, he'll be missed by all thats for sure. RIP
  15. Experienced that before at the Millstone and haven't been back since..
  16. How good is Bowies new album? not bad for an old man, and the way he kept it out of the press was genius.
  17. Oh well we can live in hope! Just got back from the gig, 4 Smiths classic songs, 2 Electronic numbers and 1 modest mouse, mixed in with his new stuff, absolutely fantastic stuff from Johnny, the mans a legend. Best thing about it, we drove, arrived at 8.45pm and back in the local by 10.45, love 53 degrees!
  18. We're off to see the legend that is Johnny Marr in Preston on Friday, would prefer to see him with Morrissey but hell will frezze over before that ever happens.
  19. Has he seen the 3/5 review? that after weeks to make things right? We went to Zinc again yesterday Manchester near the corn exchange, very good food, consistent and a good setting. 2 courses for £13, fish cakes to start and steak and chips for main, bottle of Malbec, very nice indeed.
  20. What a great find and what a strange bit of footage, those at the back of the goal couldn't have timed things any better!
  21. Thats still not very good really, seems to point towards the issue being far more than some certificates locked in a cupboard. I'll think twice before I go again.
  22. Well I'm really surprised at that, I wonder if they'll now do the usual trick and change the name of the place to beat the adverse publicity. 0/5 - Shocked!
  23. Not been out much of late due to being unwell, but went to the Naga again on Friday at Abbey Village and the food is absolutely spot on. I would recommend the place for sure, its certainly a cut above the Darwen offerings we used to frequent. They do a decent selection of fish dishes which keeps the wife happy, and a good variety of chef specials to wet the appetite, all round good fair.
