  1. Ewood admittedly has a very poor atmosphere, although that’s mostly (in my opinion) because of the way the club has been run and the knock on effects of targeted attacks on the most passionate of our fans along with misinformation to the majority of our fan base. Still, it’ll be much better tonight than most MLS games where any atmosphere is mostly engineered by “ultras” working alongside the clubs PA system. None of this is intended as a dig by the way. It’s just two totally different cultures.
  2. I used to produce all of the NFL coverage through DAZN in North America including the Super Bowl. Also did Boxing and Baseball, which I couldn’t for the life of me get into. American Sports certainly gets the numbers, but in terms of atmosphere it’s completely different. It’s more aligned to an experience in the States, the atmosphere is generated through excitement and a social media culture of “I was there!” whereas sport in the UK - especially football - is very much based around tribalism and aggression. I do like the Tailgates, though.
  3. Not always, but it would cause absolute chaos if it wasn’t segregated. The segregation is also why we have something unusual to American sport - atmosphere.
  4. Thank god - I’ve emailed for three separate games now complaining about away fans in the home end and corporate section, glad someone’s finally doing something about it.
  5. Hi Everyone, Does anyone have a 94/95 shirt they’d be willing to sell — stipulation being it has to be collected today? Alternatively does anyone have a new and unused shirt from this season for sale? Send me a DM if you do!
  6. It’s impossible to predict but my head tells me a motivated JDT that hasn’t been lied to about the project and hasn’t uprooted his family and travelled them to another country gets a lot more than 2 points from PNE, Cardiff and Norwich. At the same time the JDT we ended up with that had lost the dressing room, was pissed off at the management with an upset family at home probably doesn’t get 2 points from those 9. Which in reality just compounds the issue further. All they had to do was do as they promised and in my opinion JDT would have been the best manager since Allardyce, but they fucked it up.
  7. Not at all, it’s one moment from a 2 hour meeting on a camera he (like the rest of us) had no idea was recording.
  8. Yep, he was. Funny story, I originally hide this image when it was posted here, but it has since been posted elsewhere so I’m happy to upload it now. This was sent to me as a tip by a friend and was taken by the staff at the hotel, who thought it was the ‘new manager meeting the players’. Turns out it was the supporters meeting and I was actually in the meeting! Ryan seemed nice enough, Dom Hyam and Sam Gallagher were certainly most engaged. Although I did enjoy Aynsley Pears asking our CEO why we don’t just reduce the cost of tickets if they’re unaffordable.
  9. This will always be the biggest issue. Unless someone can lead it and lead it well, it will be limited to spontaneous reactionary protest. Say what you want about the Action Group, but they’re the only ones that where capable of it.
  10. I think a league one loan would be superb for him if he played most games. More than that, I worry about his brother on social media criticising every time Jake isn’t on the pitch. I hope Jake doesn’t have the same ultra high opinion of himself and can ignore that external noise, because he isn’t all that at all and has a lot to work on.
  11. I like the occasional wild prediction, so here’s that… Eustace will keep us up, but generally be considered a failure here.
  12. Funny old game - I think Garrett is miles off being ready. Buckley is a far superior player.
  13. No idea about Silvester other than what I said in that meeting: There’s no accountability at this football club, things happen without any repercussion. Someone has to be held responsible for the way we treated McGuire and the errors from the club.
  14. I don’t think Gregg is going based on what the staff in the lounges were saying against Stoke.
  15. We’re investigating it literally as we speak - I can see both the above going through it on our internal chat!
  16. Yep, will have both of those. Pears Hyam McFaz Wharton Brittain Tronstad Fleck Christene Szmodics Dolan Gally
  17. Not without any match fitness, although I agree and hopefully sooner rather than later. Pears Hyam McFaz ORoirdon Brittain Tronstad Garrett Christene Szmodics Gally Dolan The sooner Garrett is out that team the better, but right now there’s not many other options.
  18. Court case against the owners won’t have been finalised by then, limited budget.
  19. Not got the cajones to face the music
  20. I don’t see a world where GB is still involved by Birmingham at home. Too many signs that he’s no longer involved. Not pictured with Eustace No words on Eustace on the Rovers website No after transfer window review Gushing JDT post on LinkedIn Limited Eustace post on LinkedIn with no picture
  21. I’m pretty convinced if you let Big Sam make all the decisions for 3 years you end up in the Prem.
  22. Thought it was worth circling back round to this given the way the thread has developed. This recap from RoversChat essentially breaks down the what was and wasn’t discussed elements. As per my original post, I spoke about the ownership issues, explained to the players it wasn’t them being targeted by boos it was Suhail, Waggott and Venkys and talked them through the finances involved in going to Ewood which I described as abhorrent considering the poverty and deprivation in our town. As Dan says anything more specific wasn’t discussed.
