  1. I feel that players like Bennett and Reed can play in various roles and they perform well enough.important during a game. Rothwell and Palmer start wide but dont have to stay wide as they roam and find space and clever movement. We dont play natural wingers just like Liverpool or Man City do. Williams played at centre back for Bristol City. (In a 3 man defence) Agree on Dack and false 9 role. Not for me. I dont come on this messageboard 2 hours a home games as I busy befoe hand. I post Mowbray's views as they answer some questions posed by people. We can debate it after but at least we can understand where he coming from and his thinking. Last sentence unwarrented
  2. versatility is crucial under Mowbray and understanding the role he wants you to play. Rodwell can play centre back and he reads the game well and good techinally. Mowbray doesnt play with natural wingers and never tbh. Ive shown the stats of where Rothwell played for Oxford last season. Not over it again. He starts from the left but cuts in just the right side player does allowing both full backs to provide the width wide. Dack has a free role he will be everywhere. You complained when I used the laughing emoji but its fine for you to do it. Maybe practical when you preach 1st. As Mowbray has said every player understand in their role in the side, he talks them and involved in everything. I'm fan of a team having at least 3 different formations that the team feels very comfortable in and understand their roles within them. Maybe understand Mowbray thinking and logic. The last sentence is a joke and needs removing quickly. How is he? He expressing an opinion whilst understanding Mowbray's thinking and logic.
  3. We did not set up for a point. Mowbray went for the win and we would have had if we had got 2 stonewalled penalties. Those managers might play the same formation but change the team with 2 or 3 changes every week. I like the fact that Mowbray keep changing formations and its works most of the time. I expected to see 3 at the back yesterday from the start but he went another way. The players adapt and play the way he wants and they understand why he is playing that way. Playing for Mowbray requires a lot of understanding and adaptable. When we play Dack in the 10 role against Sheffield United in 4-2-3-1 formation, Wilder man mark Dack out of the game by Norwood on him. He stop us from playing and it was easy. Since then Mowbray has change it up more and we got good results. Mowbray was cricitised by WBA fans for playing the same way every game there. So we cant have it both ways. You mention Wilder and Lampard play the same way every game. Yes they do. So does Biesla at Leeds but they have been found out. Pulis changes formations regular this season. Some games its been 3-5-1-1 and some games it 4-3-3.
  4. I was delight that Gayle wasn't playing I disagree it was a team selection full of square pegs in round holes. Only 2 players out of position. Rothwell has played wide left in most of his games here, Palmer plays wide under Mowbray. Only Conway and Dack out of position. Bennett, Williams and Rodwell can play a number of positions and well. Our squad requires adaptable under our Mowbray. I am not a fan of the Dack up front thing or of putting Graham on bench if he isn't fit enough to play, Downing could have taken that position on bench. I would have play Brereton up front. You will say Armstrong. either of them would have caused them problems for the centre back. imbalanced transfer recruitment? great to hear this very good post. Mowbray a very clever man and the players knows these formations well. They will work on them, Mowbray explains them to these and his ways of thinking. We have 3 or 4 different formations we can play and I think it a good thing. The players aren't confused by these changes in formations like some will say.
  5. I don't agree with Mercer one bit and Mowbrays had his targets for other positions but didn't spend just for the sake of it.
  6. He is very close to Lambert and he had the inside track here when he came here. It will be interesting to see how he spends the money. need 3 or 4 new players. Plus how he set ups the team whether it diamond formation midfield or 4-2-3-1 or 3 at the back
  7. @DE. itappears that Lambert has got a very good budget in January
  8. Give it a rest Mercer. Kean and Coyle arent managers tho. I think Mowbray has said he over thinks the tactics sometimes last season but that why its good to have a good number 2. Mowbray discuss and explains to the players his thinking behind tactics and the reasons why. Agree on your last point and I am currently seeing this in the company I work for
  9. Fair point but I feel Mowbray likes to tinker and make a couple of changes. We have 7 or 8 deffo starters. I have been saying Graham wont be able to play 3 games a week all the time..
  10. Raya update #Rovers are pleased to report that, following treatment in hospital, David Raya is travelling back up to Blackburn tonight with a member of the club's medical department. (1/2) #Rovers are hopeful that the injury is not as serious as first feared, despite David sustaining a broken nose & having several stitches to a facial wound. A further assessment will be made by our club doctor over the weekend; we hope to provide a further update on Monday. (2/2)
  11. How many managers play the same 11 every week? Not many.
  12. He seems to play well today from what I listened to. Good on him. Hppe you proves me wrong. I just hope the penny has drop that in this team is about work rate, desire and passion Hope we sign him permanently
  13. lying again Mercer, not like you is it? Didn't I already said I wasn't a fan of this Dack experiment up front given your statement below you soon switch you tune so quickly. funny 45 mins before we got a point you were slamming Mowbray tactics. how two face can you been? why? cos you stand that he is so good for this football club you need to calm down during a game, Pleased you dont sit near me at games
  14. Mowbray's reaction to the game. Talks losing players, spirit in battling back, deciding on a goalkeeper, and the penalty that never came https://t.co/LGq6M0H8Rt #Rovers
  15. "A heroic almost performance today from the players." #Blackburn manager Tony Mowbray after a 1-1 draw with West Brom. #Rovers #BBCFootball #BBCLancsSport https://t.co/Lvcer3Hnr1
  16. Raya update .@DaviidRaya1 has a facial injury and has gone to hospital to be assessed. We wish him a speedy recovery and will release further updates as soon as we can. https://t.co/J0uXdTNut0
  17. Good point considering the situation we were in. Mulgrew and Raya big injuries if long term. Thought we won win after Reed's goal. We have a great team spirit between the players and fans and Mowbray..
  18. Get in there!!! Lets win this. WBA there for taking COYB TMBWA
  19. Any need for that? Stomach injury.
  20. Speaking to WBA fan yesterday and Thursday they have quite poor games overall but scores goals to win games
  21. Graham on is a must. I would Conway off. Then either Palmer or Rothwell off for Armstrong. Armstrong will trouble this WBA team
  22. Mowbray not happy by the sounds of it. Threw his water bottle down. We need a striker or 2 on
