  1. Hirst and Markanday are the ones with the chance and opportunity to change if need be. Time they shown the talent and ability they got.
  2. Let's get a win and 3 points from this game.
  3. Hedges in for Dolan. Phillips, Markanday and Garrett come onto the bench
  4. yes the account show that. Reading them shown this and Football finance expert Kieran Maguire has said this. That without the sale of Armstrong and selling the training ground to Venkys we would have falling fouls of the FFP rules. It is very simple to understand and Rovers have reduce the wage bill over the last 2 years aswell. (1) Kieran Maguire on Twitter: "Blackburn parent company Venkys London had £20m loss to year ended 31 March 2022 but profits on sale of Armstrong and property assets to another Venky’s company turned this into a small profit #Rovers https://t.co/gQP6wriY78" / Twitter Surely we would need to bring in left side attacking player to replace BBD directly? I also don't subscribe to the notion that getting promote specifically this season cos BBD might leave in the summer. No club offered an amount we deems suitable to accept the offer. Now we have the new recruitment team in place we will hopefully be scouting for possible replacements for BBD whether it's attacking left side player or striker or both. Most of the recruitment team weren't in place during the first transfer window so I would say unfair to judge them on that. Gus Williams came in very late in July, Luke Griffin arrived in October as our head of European scouting, Luke Evans arrived in October as our head of Data Scouting. Only Tom Sutton joined in the summer. So I think it would be very unwise and unfair to pin any blame on the recruitment team that most weren't in place at that time. Surely you will accept it that? JDT has been here 6 months and we are 3rd in the league. Its been a great start and beyond my expectations for this season. JDT is working the league out and how he wants them to play and who fits that and not.
  5. This style of football has us 3rd so far so I would say we have more than reasonable chance of being in the playoffs picture come end of the season.
  6. The past is the part but we need have brought in people in specific roles that our Director of Football and Head of Recruitment so the time to judge isn't on Christmas eve but after next summer transfer window?
  7. We couldn't spend much last season cos we were on the FFP threshold. Do you honestly think selling BBD for less than double figures would be wise really for the team in terms of results and league table? Would we be 3rd right now in the league table if we sold BBD this summer?
  8. We have invested massively a new team in the recruitment departments where we can look and find these gems where in the summer just gone we wouldn't have that knowledge or inside on potential signings. We kept BBD cos he is one of the best player in the league and we never received an offer we deemed suitable to sell.
  9. It will be interesting to see what we do in January tbh.
  10. But we still get the financial reward of the PL money to offset any money we get from selling him now. We simple don't know what BBD will do after this season. Well Mowbray ain't going to tell us is he that he didn't need to sell Rothwell to fund other signings is he?
  11. Like I said previous we will have agree to disagree on Hirst. Who would you like us to sign has a striker in January since you want a striker signing?
  12. fair enough. I think BBD is worth at least double that if not more if we get promotion with him this season Who says it Gossip tho?
  13. You seen Hirst for yourself so you should know. Also I posted what I thought his attributes were after the Stoke Game.
  14. Lenihan and Nyambe were still in discussions with the club in January and was even towards end of the season? Haven't several posters claimed that Mowbray had more money to spend then he claim and he never spent his entire transfer budget each window?
  15. when did we get 12 million offer for Rothwell or even BBD?
  16. well we have to agree on to disagree on this
  17. not sure there is such an agreement as he must play but more along the lines that if he doesn't play you pay more of his wages then you do if he is playing
  18. Who did Mowbray have line up to replace Rothwell? wasn't it Sunderland midfielder Dan Neil?
  19. Which do you mean by go for it? If it spending loads of money we don't have it due to FFP but we can trade and buy the squad that wise. We now have invested in the recruitment department and brought in Gus Williams and several new staff members to we need to allow that to find the right players and for the right prices. Hopefully we can find some gems in European market like Belgium, Germany and Scandinavia areas. Plus keep developing and using our own players from the academy. You don't sell your players on the cheap which we would be in the past summer with BBD. His worth is much more to the team that is challenging for top 6 which I didn't expect this season. On Rothwell I would have sold him last January and given that he wasn't going to sign a new contract and wanted out for number of months due to family reasons.
  20. Based on my opinion of each player. Big fan of Vale and I think he would develop into a good player for us. Yet you rate Mola who has done what so far? Different strikers have different fundamentals like Shearer and Sheringham were very different types of strikers or Shearer or Jansen. From what I seen from Hirst which he lacks is confidence that only got dented more when he missed that Penalty at Cardiff. I was gutted for him. I think he makes some very good runs between the centre backs and full backs against Stoke. If you look at his Portsmouth spell he started slowly then improved around Christmas time and after All depends on the terms of the loan agreement and whether we there is an early terminate clause or whether Leicester have a recall clause aswell.
  21. The EFL does it own TV deal and it has put streaming 3pm kick offs on the table whilst the PL to the best of my knowledge hasn't done this. Why the EFL has done this I don't get? They seem to think they can better TV deal by doing this but I don't see it. The EFL should be looking at capping prices for fans at each level to attract more fans to stadium and live football
  22. we have 3 options if Gallagher can't start games if you want a striker in Hirst, Vale and Dolan. I would have no problem in starting any of them if Gallagher can't start and I have faith in them
  23. I have disagree with you, he gives depth and strengths in forward areas and his adaptability to play 2 or 3 different positions but given how we play with just front 2 means he missed out, but now we playing 4-2-3-1 formation we will see much more of him starting games when has pressing number 9 or as wide player.
  24. He has played many games as the number 9 but we like our front players to roam and freedom from set positions when Attacking. We performed much better when he is part of the team then without.
