Mike, Its all down to people own circumstances and what the situation is regarding a range of issues whether its cost, family situation, working commitments etc. I understand the point you are making Mike and its a fair one. I know few people who can afford the ST cost but can't go cos work/family reasons and then like yourself down to cost. I guess my point was the cost of travel, ticket cost, food and drink cost, plus comfort and a few other reasons like the behaviour of people of coaches/trains makes more sense to drive to away games than go by coach or train.

Yes the £25-30 is the fuel cost. Plus around £15-20 on food and drink, but it is alot cheaper then paying rail fares and plus the unpredictable of whether they are running, train strikes and delays. I would rather drive to most away games than travel by coach or train. You mentioned depreciation, I guess you mean wear and tear on the car but I do keep look after my car and it passes it Mot and service every year with flying colours
