  1. You seen Hirst for yourself so you should know. Also I posted what I thought his attributes were after the Stoke Game.
  2. Lenihan and Nyambe were still in discussions with the club in January and was even towards end of the season? Haven't several posters claimed that Mowbray had more money to spend then he claim and he never spent his entire transfer budget each window?
  3. when did we get 12 million offer for Rothwell or even BBD?
  4. well we have to agree on to disagree on this
  5. not sure there is such an agreement as he must play but more along the lines that if he doesn't play you pay more of his wages then you do if he is playing
  6. Who did Mowbray have line up to replace Rothwell? wasn't it Sunderland midfielder Dan Neil?
  7. Which do you mean by go for it? If it spending loads of money we don't have it due to FFP but we can trade and buy the squad that wise. We now have invested in the recruitment department and brought in Gus Williams and several new staff members to we need to allow that to find the right players and for the right prices. Hopefully we can find some gems in European market like Belgium, Germany and Scandinavia areas. Plus keep developing and using our own players from the academy. You don't sell your players on the cheap which we would be in the past summer with BBD. His worth is much more to the team that is challenging for top 6 which I didn't expect this season. On Rothwell I would have sold him last January and given that he wasn't going to sign a new contract and wanted out for number of months due to family reasons.
  8. Based on my opinion of each player. Big fan of Vale and I think he would develop into a good player for us. Yet you rate Mola who has done what so far? Different strikers have different fundamentals like Shearer and Sheringham were very different types of strikers or Shearer or Jansen. From what I seen from Hirst which he lacks is confidence that only got dented more when he missed that Penalty at Cardiff. I was gutted for him. I think he makes some very good runs between the centre backs and full backs against Stoke. If you look at his Portsmouth spell he started slowly then improved around Christmas time and after All depends on the terms of the loan agreement and whether we there is an early terminate clause or whether Leicester have a recall clause aswell.
  9. The EFL does it own TV deal and it has put streaming 3pm kick offs on the table whilst the PL to the best of my knowledge hasn't done this. Why the EFL has done this I don't get? They seem to think they can better TV deal by doing this but I don't see it. The EFL should be looking at capping prices for fans at each level to attract more fans to stadium and live football
  10. we have 3 options if Gallagher can't start games if you want a striker in Hirst, Vale and Dolan. I would have no problem in starting any of them if Gallagher can't start and I have faith in them
  11. I have disagree with you, he gives depth and strengths in forward areas and his adaptability to play 2 or 3 different positions but given how we play with just front 2 means he missed out, but now we playing 4-2-3-1 formation we will see much more of him starting games when has pressing number 9 or as wide player.
  12. He has played many games as the number 9 but we like our front players to roam and freedom from set positions when Attacking. We performed much better when he is part of the team then without.
  13. Blackburn Rovers warned of financial impact amid growing streaming debate by Football finance expert Kieran Maguire Blackburn Rovers warned of financial impact amid growing streaming debate (msn.com)
  14. I would say yes in terms of goals and assists plus impacts on games this season has been better.
  15. We will have to agree to disagree. I think we should add 1 or 2 players in January whilst you want at least 4 signings.
  16. How was it a cryptic answer when we both have discussion at length your point before the world cup started and we have talk about his strengths after his first start. we couldn't agree
  17. We have already had this discussion before the world cup was on and in different thread. Yet you asked the same question again.
  18. I think Garrett has shown he is more the up to it as he has shown in the games he played. You and I plus others have already had this discussion already. We won't agree. You want to keep adding players to the squad/positions where we already have enough players for that position. I think we need to just look to sign 1 or 2 players in January. Right back and another forward option if Dolan is out long term or BBD leaves or we send Hirst back We are already competing in the league aren't we and we are 3rd in the league or is that not compete for you?
  19. Still would have like to be there watching Rovers even if the result wasn't what we wanted I do think Hirst needs a proper run of games so he can get match fit and match readiness to show whether he can produce or not at this level. He hasn't played much in recent weeks before the international break but given how we are playing I'm not sure he will get the starts I think he needs to produce. On sending him back all depends on the loan agreement terms and whether we can send him back or not. I do think Hirst needs a proper run of games so he can get match fit and match readiness to show whether he can produce or not at this level. 20. We already know what the objective as Rovers spoke about this over the summer. we are 3rd in the league and I would rather use the players we have in midfield then bring in another meaning it 6 players fighting for 2 spot in the starting 11 and 1 on the bench.
  21. abit extreme interpretation of my view on Dack. His last 2 performances have been good but he can't last 90 mins so if he stays we need to manage his game time well
  22. I wish I was attending this game, as I think the Stadium of light is very impressive stadium. My team I would go for is Kaminski JRC Ayala Hyam Pickering Buckley Morton Hedges Dack BBD Gallagher Subs:- Pears, S.Wharton, Travis, A. Wharton, Hirst, Szmodics, Markanday
  23. I'm not surprised that Kolo Toure wants to play. Will Wigan get better and results improve that way. Lets see
  24. We didn't get those sort of 10-12 million bids in the summer so I would say its unlikely we would now. We only got 3 offers in the summer. Fulham bid 6 mil plus 4 mil in add on's, Seville and Nice bid 8.4 million offer I was very insightful to how Rovers recruitment work and what roles people are doing within those roles. I'm pleased we will be looking at European market even tho far less players will meet the UK work permit rules. I feel we should be looking at Belgium, Germany and Scandinavia markets for players. We did have a Head of European scout under Mowbray with Glyn Chamberlain doing that role until Mowbray decided that role wasn't needed any more. Mowbray didn't make used of the European market for me. So you want to sign another midfielder meaning less time and even chance of Adam Wharton or Jake Garrett making the 18 man squad?
  25. I didn't attend the game but did listen to the last 70 mins of the game on Radio Lancs. Sounded like Pears made a number of very good saves. I seen the goals and I have to say Scott Wharton was awful for the 1st and 3rd goal. Good header for the goal tho. I can't comment on the overall performance of each player. I would have like fewer changes but it was understandable given that the league is the priority for JDT and Rovers. Gutted that Dolan got injured last night. Really a sackable offence. Maybe we need to give Hirst a run of games to see him get match fit and playing the regular. The problem is Gallagher is first choice for the number 9 role.
