  1. well who else would play left back if Pickering got injury? Probably not if we had signed a right back allowing JRC to play further forward.
  2. it was a loan with view to permanent deal next summer., Cos we could afford within the current FFP rules.
  3. Join the club. But thats what we do by following our Blackburn Rovers through the good and bad times with the passion and love we have for Rovers and everything around it. I haven't lost my passion for Rovers even after not being allow to watched it live inside a stadium setting like I have for other social activities I used to do pre pandemic That sort of comment is very childish and I would expect better from someone like yourself
  4. as @Bbrovers2288posted it was loan with a view to permanent next summer. We would have been able to pay the fee without being outside the FFP rules
  5. Cardiff looking a very different team with Moore on. They scored very quickly after he came on. Forest looking poor now after Moore come on
  6. His that comment really warrant? Thats what winds me up with you but if any of them score on Tuesday will you celebrate the goal?
  7. Nixon revealed the reason why Rovers didn't sign him and that Rovers move could well be reignited next January, with Nixon again going on to mention how Maja wants a return to England in the next transfer window. Blackburn Rovers pulled out of move to sign Josh Maja, report claims - The 72
  8. Lenihan new contract been offered by Rovers reported by Nixon Blackburn Rovers set to hand new deal to Darragh Lenihan - The 72 I would be very pleased with this news when he signs the new contract and its announce
  9. you have throw your toys out of the pram again. Buckley had a good game but some people will always let for little negatives again and again. Buckley is only 21 years old and he is getting strong season by season. You are looking for the finish product again!
  10. and we lose him on a free at the end of the season? What happens then? Well any striker who is out of contract will take weeks to gain fitness in most cases and then if we have to apply the quarantine rules that could be another 10 days. So probably 4 to 6 weeks before they would be ready to play. I would used what we have got in Gallagher, Dolan, Brereton, Poveda, Khadra, Butterworth, McBride until January then sign a striker. Well I believe that Mowbray or any new manager if a change is made will want a striker in very quickly in January. I expected Park and his recruitment will be focusing on that hopefully. I know who I hope we target but we see closer to January.
  11. I listened to an ex professional who was a striker and knows the position better than most. His commetary was open, honest and great to listen to. Same as Mark Atkins. Others I spoke to who went to the game also said Gallagher had a good game are wrong aswell but you are right? But didn't he hold the ball up and lay it off in the build up for the second goal yesterday? He should have scored yesterday but his overall performance wasn't the bad but for me plenty to cling on to from past performance like the Boro or Swansea ones. Which you overlooked again. Good to know you written him off. I really hope he scores against Hull and has good performance to prove you wrong.
  12. thankyou for the reply. I think now he is working without his former number 2 Leam Richardson he is now struggling. Similar to Hughton without Calderwood. Do you agree with that?
  13. no idea. Maybe we should have cash in on him this summer window considering that we wont get anything for him this coming summer
  14. thats the past. Was he brushed off the ball yesterday?
  15. Looking very forward to the launch of this game in November. Should be very interesting and exciting to play this game when release
  16. Buckley isn't lightweight at all. Did he look lightweight yesterday? Lets see what he does with Poveda now. Think his comments about him being a central player which I guess means the 10 role was based on us signing a striker. We didn't We would be much better off sticking to playing 4-3-3 formation IMO and playing Poveda wide
  17. Good to see Richardson, Beattie and Kelly doing so well at Wigan. thanks for the reply. Have the fans or local papers/reporters turn on him yet? Would be interesting if Cook was sack who Ipswich would go for? Isn't Bristol City former CEO Mark Ashton there as CEO at Ipswich?
  18. Who can we get? I feel we are better going with what we have currently including using Butterworth and McBride until January. In the meantime, Park and his recruitment team get to work on finding a striker we can striker we sign in few days of the window. I hope that Park has sent a scout to Hibs game today scouting Kevin Nisbet. Could be potential striker target Isn't Sturridge set to sign for German club Schalke?
  19. We are 9th in the league table currently. Forget the form guide. If I was to offer you 9th place finish in May with Mowbray in charge and this squad would you or anyone accept that? Yes Mowbray should have gone in the summer after 3 years building a squad and we never came up to going up including last season squad size and we have the second top goalscorer in the league. on transfers, Rovers should have been better and more organise in bring in a striker. Waggott has to carry the can for not being in bring in the striker we needed but why did we wasted so long chasing Obafemi and why wait to the end of window before trying to bring in a striker. Surely we should have a striker line up and in negotiations with one or a few to agree a deal as soon as Armstrong transfer was done. We knew since February that he was very likely he would leave Rovers this season. I would say Buckley is far from a midget and he gets stuck in as yesterday proves and won the ball back on several occasions. Poveda, Dolan and Khadra are wide players. I don't mind Dolan playing up front if his job is a similar role to the Swansea game but wouldn't do that if we have bought in a permanent striker in the last window. I agree that we shouldn't formation at that time. But at 2 nil up after 65 mins I was saying we need a change as Luton was coming into the game but my first change would have Butterworth for Gallagher, But after they scored I said to the people I go with that Mowbray would go defensive and bring on Maglorie. The sub I would have made. More Brereton up front and play Butterworth wide left, I think he could have fetch on Clarkson to put his foot on the ball.
  20. still gutted this morning we didn't win yesterday after being 2 nil and playing so well for the 65 minutes. I'm still think we shouldn't change formation and it was one of the reasons we lost cos we were left man short in centre midfield and our defending for both goals wasn't good enough and the second goal is such a mess defensively and I would have expected Lenihan and Ayala to be more desire and take control of winning the header for the cross and Travis for allowing their Luton player Berry to run off him.
  21. As I posted in the Boro match thread, I listened to the BBC Radio Lancs commentary for the game who had our former striker Danny Graham who was praising Gallagher and his performance. Also spoken to a number of other fans who attended the game and also praised him. on his performance, He did hold the ball up and lay it off for second Rovers goal which you have missed out. You can blame Gallagher for us not being able to keep the ball out of the our half for long but I would look at the entire team for that. Yes he should have scored yestertday Buckley played a key pass in the ball to Nyambe for him to cross to Dolan. But for me, his all round game is much improved and is starting to become a key player going forward. He won the ball on several occasions. Also in the second half he tracked their right back run when Brereton and Pickering were both out of position.
  22. not his best game but I'm not going to be over critical of him today or write him off from playing up front. For me, thats is where he should be playing. He had a good game at Boro and not the best day today I thought Both Buckley and Rothwell wasn't bad at all and probably a 6 for Rothwell and 7 for Buckley. played an excellent ball for Nyambe to pass for Dolan goal. Why? some people are very over critical of certain players at Rovers. Not saying you are one but I do very you can go OTT some times. I thought Pickering had a very decent game tbh defensively
  23. Shocked by 3 results today. WBA drawing with Millwall at home, Fulham losing at Blackpool and Coventry beating Boro
  24. Isn;t Paul Cook close to the sack currently?
  25. Well I think I have just about calm down now after today's game. I thought Rovers played for the first 65 minutes and I felt comfortable and we were the only team going to win. We scored 2 well worked goals and was pleased with our play and we had enough chances to get a third. But then we allowed back into the game with a soft goal. I am lost for my words why Mowbray decided to chance formation and just have 2 centre midfielders instead of 3. The 4-3-3- formation was working good and we looked dangerous. I don't know why he does it must games. I would bought on Butterworth or Khadra for Gallagher just before the first Luton goal. Bringing on Maglorie was a massive mistake as we were inviting more pressure. I thought Dolan and Buckley was good today and Dolan deserved MOTM today. I have zero time for their manager Nathan Jones and I thought his antics and touchline behaviour was embarrassing and pathetic. on the Ref performance, it was embarrassing and to be honest it was appalling. He never control of the game after a couple of months and its about time the EFL and FA improve the standard of referring in this country. simply not good. I would go into more detail buts to be honest it would far too long post. I believe Dolan was clip and should have a penalty awarded second half and not a dive or yellow card according to Andy Bayes and Mark Atkins who seen replays of it
