  1. 1.3 million transfer budget according to Waggott's comments to the Lancashire Telegraph in February https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/18218502.rovers-transfer-window-budget-targets-disappointment/
  2. I do scroll past every time you post other fans opinions. Hall, Fox and Chester are no better than we have got here. Fox conceded 7 goals against us and you really think he is better than we got, for example?
  3. Well if you actually look at the time both article went live online its was the same time and both papers are owned by the same company. If you actually listened to the Rovers chat podcast you will find out how he find out his info as the same goes for Rich Sharpe. Let's wait and see whether we can afford Westwood's wages first which will be much higher than we be able to afford. Supposedly to be 30k according some online websites. So before you get ahead of your self. We have an interest in this player so lets see if it goes anywhere. Other Championship teams struggling to bring in number 1 keeper like Birmingham, Bournemouth, Boro, Huddersfield and Rotherham all wanted keepers to be their number 1. Isn't Etheridge wages 30k a week at Cardiff. Do you really think we can afford those sort of wages?
  4. Rovers remain in the market for two new additions in their goalkeeping department, with their search for a first-choice set to intensify in the coming days. Mowbray would prefer a permanent addition and Bond would fit that category, and his demands would fit Rovers' wage structure. However, Rovers are also open to potential loan options, having been priced out of a move for Daniel Iversen but are still keeping tabs on Manchester City's Arijanet Muric. Wages are a stumbling block in that regard, with City holding out for a deal that would see Muric become one of Rovers' highest-earning players, although Rovers are hoping to sight the successful loan of Tosin Adarabioyo as a bargaining chip if they were to enter negotiations. Links to Aynsley Pears have simmered and murmurs of a European goalkeeper have since surfaced as of late. Anton Mitryushkin, a 24-year-old Russian who left FC Sion this summer, has attracted interest from across Europe, including Ligue 1 side Monaco, and the goalkeeper would tick the right boxes in a young, developing goalkeeper with ball-playing capabilities. https://www.lancs.live/sport/football/transfer-news/blackburn-rovers-goalkeeper-transfers-bond-18800543
  5. Yes my point is that if Mowbray still wants a ball player centre back(who is also good defending) then no point signing some one else! Thanks @Kamy100 for sharing your info. I see that as we won't be spending any more 7 million pounds on players. But looking to bring through more academy players, cheap low fee players and looking towards the foreign player market where we can players for low fees instead of paying 1.5 million for league 2 centre defender. Surely making the club self sufficient is more of long term target of the owners and cannot be done overnight IMO.
  6. Yes I would be happy cos I don't want to mess around again like we was with Jack Rodwell in the previous summer window when we got no word from him about renewing? If yoi are happy to be messed around again then so be it If Downing wanted to back here he would have re sign here by now. If he comes now is he just coming back here cos he can't get a better offer someone else or at the clubs in league 1 or championship he thought he might get How was Lindsay very much secondary to Pinnock in league 1? Muric is clearly a talent keeper otherwise he wouldn't be at Man City and on such a long term contract there would he? But he isn't the experience keeper we need who can play for us for a few seasons with younger keeper under him. I would encourage to stop listening to other fans comments on players who are leaving that club. But you will never learn. But I haven't be disappointed that we miss on most players thats have signed for Championship clubs so far. I am disappointed we missed on Fox or Chester or Grant Hall? Not at all.
  7. The latest information that a vaccine whether its the Oxford or German one will be available at the end of the year. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/global-health/science-and-disease/england-germany-neck-neck-race-produce-first-vaccine/ Who knows? what happens if we still another type of coronavirus by then?
  8. I wonder if we are at keeper Philipp Kühn from Osnabruck in Bundesliga 2. Kept 9 clean sheets in 28 games. 27 years old and worth 360k on transfermarkt. @JoeH do you have any stats on this keeper? I have suggestion him based on the number of clean sheets last season and he has the same agent as Lewis Holtby. I've seen a couple of YouTube clips but not enough to form an opinion.
  9. more false claims here again! Wasn't my suggestion but based on comments from People from Oxford University at that time. Without a vaccine or treatment you will never have full stadiums or be able to attend away games again until this happen. The phase 3 testing is happening right now with Oxford University potential vaccine. AstraZeneca is mass production right now.
  10. I never said I wanted him here, I just discussed the player and his ability. Something you can't different between
  11. I don't think he will be here. A similar situation to Rodwell last summer. and you thought Johnson would be good signing and Downing would be poor signing based on few Boro fans opinion. Mowbray wants a ball playing centre back. I gave you 3 players who could play that role. They might not be as good as Adarabioyo but can play it. No I said that Mowbray might have to adapt his style and tactics if he cant find that player. Thats my point. You based your opinion on other fans opinions like always and learnt nothing from last summer when you based your opinion on a few Boro fans who wrote Downing off and WBA fans who wrote Adarabioyo off but never played his proper position long term there. You never learned. Lindsay isn't his peak but someone the club has been scouting and looking at for a couple of seasons. We scouted him in league 1 and we should have signed him last summer. Not defending the Nixon info cos I had the info earlier that week. Yes he went to Belgium club owned by the CURRENT Leicester City owner. A transfer thats would have taken minutes to do.
  12. true but the terms of the deal you suggested would effectively just be for a season. I would prefer someone for couple of seasons at least as number 1. His wages would be well out of reach sadly. Probably on 30k a week there at least if not more in my opinion. We probably look at spending around 10k a week tops on a 1st choice keeper. Thats why we should be looking at the foreign market where the value is. Someone like Kevin Muller at FC Heidenheim, Heinz Lindner who is a free agent or Vaclav Hladky who is a free agent after leaving St Mirren this summer
  13. I have heard a number of non league owners on the radio today saying without restrictions being lifted it will kill non league football. The club has said they won't released any info on ST tickets yet with the current restrictions for me, All Season Tickets Holders need to be asked 1st about renewing before new fans. Rovers have to guarantee that fans who are Season Ticket Holders can have their normal seat back after the virus has gone finally. I can understand Rovers stance on not selling Season Tickets whilst totally understand what @JHRover is saying about income stream for the club and keeping the habit of going aswell. even tho we different views on whether we should be selling ST right now with no timescale of we will be defiantly allowed back into stadiums by this time. Maybe Rovers could introduce a membership scheme thats secure your seat as season ticket holder for a couple of seasons depending when we will be allowed back into stadium from some reports suggested a Vaccine by end of year/Start of new year.
  14. I liked someone post before my earlier post about this Downing's situation is similar to Rodwell the previous summer. If he wants to sign here he would have done it by now I would withdraw the contract now to Downing and used his wages towards making the signings we need at the centre back, left back and 2 keepers. Thats has been the priority He off to Derby now. If we only offer a 12 months contract won't we be in the same position as this summer as 12 months deal is similar to a loan deal in reality Have you listen Rich Sharpe's comments about Budget including wages, the players market we looking at which seems to the overseas market on today Rovers Chat YouTube video? He mention Iversen and the fact that Leicester wanted his full 15k wages paying which would put him at top end of our wage bill. He also mention that Rovers thought they had their 2 overseas keepers set to come in. He also mention that Mowbray might have to bite the bullet and realised that he not going to be able the same quality ball playing defender as Adarabioyo and adapt the way he might want to play. And just bring in a solid centre defender like Lindsay for example.
  15. Yes a very restricted situation but the only way out of this situation is a vaccine or treatment. Depends on whether Blackburn is on local lockdown still, how you social distancing supporters in stadiums, etc
  16. well Charlton wanted 2 million pounds for Bauer. Given he played in their promotion season and scored a goal in the final you could say its was worth it. On Philips, if the fee is less a million pounds then I would be paying it. Unless we want someone better than him
  17. far from ideal and will no doubt annoyed and angry some fans
  18. he ain't coming back here. still at Charlton. Bowyer and Gallen don't want to sell him even tho he won't sign a new contract?
  19. Depends how the player or players got the virus? Was it whilst in was Austria or France? You DON'T know whether the player or players would have get the virus if Liverpool stayed based at Melwood. Can you say for sure they would have got it in the UK?
  20. oh well, so much for Klopp knowing what he was doing.
  21. So how are Bradford City going to decide who gets to attend or not? a question no one has answered so far can't they don't know how to solve this problem
  22. I think his wages are the problem there from what I read. Similar to their loan bid for Darlow
  23. Can't really get excited about the season when you aren't going to be allowed into Stadiums in normal way and sit together with your friends, discussing football with people around in the stadium, watching the game on tv before the game, having a pre match burger. Going into the club shop before the game. Normally I would be going some pre season games but not allowed. or even attend some of the under 23 or under 18 games either. So to get excited when if you are going to be allowed into stadiums only if you were a facemask, social distancing and only allowing to used the concourse for toilet facilities isn't normal football supporters life . I will still check the fixtures when they come out on Friday or when signings are made but this isn't a normal pre season. Football won't be normal until we are allowed to return to normal British life and thats is only through a Vaccine or treatment in my opinion
  24. why do I need to endorse any players? wow. I'm sure plenty of footballers did they research on going on holiday to overseas until the Quarantine rules came in countries like Spain and France.
