  1. It’s becoming like ‘virtual’ VAR in the Championship. You never used to see such long delays in officials making a decision about the legality of a goal, (whilst the attacking team are already celebrating). I suppose that’s not necessarily a bad thing, providing the eventual decision reached is the correct one. Until the ball is back on the centre spot you can’t be sure a goal will stand.
  2. 🙂 Here's hoping / dreaming it happens. It's just a shame we weren't drawn at home, as that would've been a night for us to look forward to.
  3. I think they will, because they’re not in Europe and this competition is their most likely route to a trophy this season.
  4. That definitely belongs on the optimists thread 😉 The win today is crucial, but it was against a club who have been pretty dire this season, (and will most likely result in the departure of their manager). We've won one and lost four of the last five games. It's a small but very important step in the right direction.
  5. I was expecting to see you posting in the optimists thread that we're only five points off the Play Off places, Jim 😉
  6. Thank goodness for that! A very important win which gives us a nice cushion from the bottom three. Would’ve been horrible sitting on five successive defeats for a fortnight.
  7. I think there is definitely an element of that in his approach. He often highlights what Maggot has said re - no pressure to get results. With the above in mind, I suspect his attitude is, "I'll stick to my guns , come what may". "If you want to sack me, it will cost you".
  8. Such is our plight, I’d actually take that just to keep our heads above the water.
  9. That’s awful news. Wishing your Mum strength to fight it and the very best wishes for her recovery.
  10. Ennis : Poor injury record (Mr La-de-da gunner Broughton guilty of overlooking this). Telalovic : Looking like a panic buy. Basically, like buying a player from an English club’s academy. Might come good in time. We don’t have time. Leonard : Similar to Telalovic, a youngster who should be getting eased in, not chucked in at the deep end.
  11. Well if our supporters are that thick , they don’t deserve any better. I think Waggott would be the main target.
  12. I hope it doesn’t happen, but a sustained run of poor form will turn the atmosphere in the ground, and the ire will not be directed at the Head Coach.
  13. The trouble is, if JDT decides to leave (or in the unlikely event of his sacking) we wouldn’t bring in the right type of manager, ie a troubleshooter, such as Warnock.
  14. I’m not advocating that JDT should be removed, and he is largely not responsible for our current predicament. However, is he the best man for a likely relegation fight? Probably not.
  15. Clearly, there are mitigating factors, but JDT does have to take some of the responsibility.
  16. We can bang on all night about luck and referees, (doesn’t wash with me). We’ve won five of our last twenty one league games. We have sick note, unreliable strikers and an imbalanced, inexperienced squad.
  17. Sorry, a team that keeps losing is not a good side. We finished last season in horrific form, and it’s carried over to this season. I’m just waiting for the old chestnut of, “we’re too good to go down “. We flatter to deceive. The table doesn’t lie.
  18. We have the worst defensive record in the League, and are hopeless in front of goal. We are in trouble.
  19. Re - the disallowed goal, it’s symptomatic of the way it’s going for us, but had it been disallowed instantly we wouldn’t even be talking about it. We missed a sitter prior to their goal, and it was at that moment we all knew what was coming.
  20. I agree. Guess it depends on how much he needs the dough.
  21. Six pointer on Saturday. All aboard Maggot’s luxury coach to oblivion. Meanwhile, on the optimists thread, “we are only 6 points off the Play Offs and it’s in our own hands”.
  22. Alas, another zero point haul is nothing to build on. The “bad luck”, (you make your own good luck), injuries, failure to take chances and, most of all, successive defeats all point to a grim struggle ahead.
  23. Absolutely no excuse. From that position we had to score. On and on it goes.
  24. Has to score, there. Absolutely typical.
  25. I’m thinking round about the 85th minute
