  1. The first part - we were fortunate to only be a goal down at half time. Would he have changed it if we’d been 2 or more down? I suspect not. The second part - The manager may have sanctioned the changes, but probably under extreme pressure from others in the dressing room. I have never seen a manager (of any club) as downbeat after a victory. You really would think we had lost the game.
  2. I don’t consider half the game as being “early”. No-one outside the dressing room knows exactly what went on at half time, but there are clear pointers that the changes were taken out of the manager’s hands. His body language during the second half, and at the post match press conference, and the admission of words being spoken by senior players at half time the most obvious signs.
  3. It’s worrying to read that Mowbray says he’s got a hamstring niggle. The decision not to sign a striker, (as in an actual centre forward), in January continues to haunt us.
  4. Yes, that Twitter post can definitely be construed as undermining the manager and broke the code of keeping dressing room politics in-house.
  5. Whoever stuck that dynamite up Gallagher’s rear end at half time needs to do it again before kick off on Saturday. I know he can’t be blamed for the first half omnishambles, but he doesn’t usually play with that level of intensity.
  6. Got to win on Saturday. So many teams with games in hand breathing down our neck. Thank goodness we won last night.
  7. Agreed, but it is still odd that the manager’s demeanour was so noticeably downbeat after a comeback win. The natural response would be bullishness.
  8. What a drama queen! We were so poor in the first half it had to be seen to be believed. I could fully understand the booing, and think it was just an understandable airing of discontent and for Mowbray’s ears, rather than being aimed at individual players. Personally, I just couldn’t help but laugh. It was either that or cry. Watching the video of the post match press conference, rather like towards the end of last season, Mowbray presented himself as someone wishing to be put out of their misery.
  9. To be fair, I think that was a consoling chat brought forward from full time by the decisive third goal.
  10. Lucky to still be in the game at half time, but fair play for a rousing second half. The win keeps our heads above the water in the top six, but we need to follow it up with another on Saturday. The net result from a week of three home games is four points, which is quite poor. A win on Saturday and we will look like genuine Play Off hopefuls again. Anything else, after our recent struggles, will be insufficient.
  11. Huddersfield and Coventry, (who had been out of this League for a good while), also going well. Mowbray has also reaped the benefits of an excellent youth set up, which has been a major factor this season. He’s had enough time to mount a series promotion push. When you look back at some of his quotes from a year or two back, Mowbray himself stated that we should be challenging by now. The annual February collapse has become tedious and depressing.
  12. Poor sod, having to sit and watch us again as part of his ‘education’.
  13. and even that was only thanks to a keeper error from a free kick.
  14. Given our current form, maybe they should try, “bring an enemy”. People simply aren’t going to shell out for this rubbish.
  15. Hedges must now be at Masters level on his 'How not to hit a cow's arse with a banjo' course.
  16. That's Tony's latest cunning plan, (we still wouldn't score).
  17. .........and a largely harmonious fanbase, with no symptoms of Stockholm Syndrome.
  18. Just finished work and got the result. I guess the wait goes on for “another day”. Three goals in twelve league games.
  19. Classic Mowbray waffle. By now, Hedges must have learned how not to be a goal threat.
  20. Aye, we might even score a goal from open play 😉 Cant disagree with much of what you said, but this run of poor form is clearly a concern. We will probably know a lot more by 21:45 a week on Tuesday. Has to be an absolute minimum of six points from the next three games. Whilst our immediate rivals have also been slipping up, there are teams rising up from mid table and, unless we arrest the slide imminently, we risk exchanging places with them quite soon.
  21. The irony is that we have relative riches at our disposal, compared to then, but evidently less ambition. Not even a half arsed attempt to address our obvious deficiency during the Window.

  23. Millwall in fantastic form. I think that game will be very tough. They are closing in on us.
  24. Our January business was poor, and I blame that on Mowbray, not the owners. He signed players we didn’t really need, (eg Hedges), and failed to address the most obvious, pressing need, namely a centre forward. Mowbray is quoted as saying that we had the opportunities to bring in a forward, but chose not to. Three goals in eleven league games. Predictably pathetic.
  25. Heading for three goals in the last eleven games. Still, “On another day”, hey!
