  1. Reed signs on loan
  2. Our cover at CB is inadequate at best. Lenihan and to a lesser extent Mulgrew are decent at this level - although even Lenihan has had some wobbles already this season. Both have history of injury. Both out would mean Downing and Williams in the short term - hopefully with Wharton on a short recall - with Smallwood the likely stand in. I have zero faith in Rodwell. He cannot be anywhere near the first team right now and should be on buttons until January when he might be near the bench - if he can get fit. I also don’t like the contract history of the lad. He didn’t have the usual 40% wage reduction in his contract that everyone else did. Not his fault necessarily but I expect that his agent will have insisted on that clause being removed before he would sign it. That makes the player responsible. It shows that his commitment is to his personal earnings (despite already being very wealthy) than on being hungry for promotion. Again, that’s everyone’s prerogative but it’s no wonder then that when the going got tough he was seen differently to the rest of the group. He wasn’t financially impacted like the rest of his team mates - and wasn’t contributing to the level that you would expect such a salary to demand. Would his commitment been as high as everyone else? Commitment, passion and team spirit are the bedrock of Mowbray’s success with this team. Rodwell could very well undermine that. Or he will show a level of humility not seen at any other time in his career. If he has hit rock bottom and had a wake up call and gets himself fit then he may get there. However, I would be very concerned about giving him a 2 year deal (let alone the usual 3 Rovers give) on the back of one good season.
  3. No! Out of the other other three!!
  4. Both right. Dack signed a 3 + 1 year deal last Summer. He signed an improved 3 year deal this Summer. If he ends up leaving on a free we’ll have 4 years out of him. He won’t. We won’t. I could see him leaving for £10m plus add-ons next Summer - unless we are promoted - effectively buying our his two remaining years.
  5. While we are talking BBE, does anyone know if that young lad they stretchered out is okay?
  6. Probably to get the marketing material out without the player coming down for a photo shoot. Wonder who is the ‘correct’ body for those three?
  7. Protesters and anti-protesters? Seem to remember a lot of aggro between fan at one point. When people start calling others “not real fans” or “enemies of the club” it tends to sting. Especially when it’s between die-hards. It will take a long time to get over.
  8. The atmosphere certainly isn’t worse. The BBE are singing far more than in previous seasons. An empty DE does look crap though.
  9. OMG - you’re right! Craig Conway! Double his squad number too!
  10. Hard not to read those posts in a dopey Burn-lay voice.
  11. Blimey. Rothwell has been superb and dropped already. Reed must be some player!!
  12. Yep. We hold all the cards in this one.
  13. Amine Linganze Herold Goulon Jordan Slew Myles Anderson Edinho Junior Paul Taylor Chris Brown There will be more... Delfouneso is like a young Pele in comparison.
  14. Depends, do you count Rovers Intertoto Cup ‘success’ in 2007 as winning a European competition?
  15. One thing Dack has that a lot of others with similar technical ability don’t - that strength to hold off players using his hips. It makes it really hard to get the ball off him. Then he will take a touch and escape out the other side. I could see him in a West Ham shirt though before a Newcastle one. He isn’t a modern top four player though as he isn’t athletic enough. Otherwise he might have been a Liverpool option. I’d hate to see him go to Leicester. He’s a real ‘throw back’ footballer.
  16. Lol. He fell out with us ages ago when he discovered he could get more sycophant followers on Twitter than BRFCS, and could block individuals. Power trip junky is ol’ Nicko.
  17. Feel the burn! Probably correct though - although I don’t remember it. Should we have judged Andre Ooijer after his first game? Or Chris Samba? I usually try to be quite balanced in posts (some will laugh of course) but I will admit to one big one though. Mowbray. My gut reaction to the Coventry failure was proven wrong, kind of. He still frustrates and I do have complaints but he has revolutionised the club and turned us around. He arrested the decline and flipped it 180. His temperament is exactly what we needed. He has a team ethos at the forefront of his decision making and it has and is paying dividends as the team can cope without its so-called stars. It did help that he got the measure of Jason Lowe early on and allowed him to leave. I’m certain Bowyer or even Coyle would have renewed his contract. Although he couldn’t save us from relegation - which was the original target - I am very happy that he got there in the end. ”Sometimes you have to take a step back to take two steps forward.” - Steve Kean ....’s Great Big Book of Positive Thinking.
  18. Amidst the gloating, it would be good to hear from a few of those who backed Kean over the protesters. Maybe one of those who called me “an enemy of the club”. Yes, I too have a long memory...
  19. Ok, I’ll be honest, for a brief moment some years ago I thought, given time, you - or one of the stooges that liked your post - would eventually make a worthwhile post.
  20. Brentford are nobodies. Rovers are on our way back.
  21. What a waste not to televise it!
  22. That’s the only real reason though. The Championship is much more... unpredictable.
  23. “Give him a chance FFS”
