  1. If you want to be successful, yes. If it’s seen as just a bit of a holiday camp, no. Every time we are on the cusp of getting somewhere, there is some bullshit reason to allow it to fall over. We are going nowhere with this attitude. Please don’t complain when this club goes bust because of our debt.
  2. I’m struggling to pick out any of Mowbray’s best XI on the day that aren’t playing really crap.
  3. Fair dos, apologies. Same two players involved.
  4. Yeah, I’m guessing Ferguson could afford to accommodate such losses. Much better times now though, where Shankly and Clough are seen as idiots. Maybe their statues need pulling down.
  5. Ha! He should have read Samuel’s shit shot? Amazing how people see such different things. Rothwell had no chance getting to that. Meanwhile, yet another time wasting drinks break.
  6. That’s why Shankly and Clough are legends of the game.
  7. And now a code pop up on screen. Is iFollow showing a dodgy river??
  8. Wonder if his new lockdown breaching barnet has cost him his place this evening?
  9. We are making them look like Barnselona early on. Never thought I’d say this but this no crowd noise really is pap.
  10. Second in the first five minutes.
  11. First shot in target for Barnsley inside two minutes.
  12. Ok, what’s this clapping all about?
  13. Depends how much I was being paid and how important the current workload was to my career and my family’s future. People miss births all the time. Some blokes are stationed overseas in shit conditions on shit money. But like I said, Lenihan doesn’t need Rovers to further his own career.
  14. The fact that Mowbray feels he has no option but to pick Mulgrew then he has failed this football club. His inability to sort out our defence has punctuated his time here. The real question is why we don’t have anyone better if anything happens to our two CBs.
  15. Why is a professional footballer on the cusp of a life changing promotion taking the evening off. The world has gone soft. Never mind eh, if Rovers don’t go up this season, Darragh will. I certainly wouldn’t have Mulgrew anywhere near our matchday squad. May as we have played Johnson there!
  16. Oh look we’re back after the ads literally right in the middle of the commentator build up. Which has now been cut off completely!
  17. Aaaand I’ve just got to this. FFS Tony. Can’t believe that Mulgrew is starting. What a nonsense.
  18. iFollow coverage is a joke. Beyond amateurish.
  19. Managers tend to be the difference in this division though.
  20. Can’t see us finishing above Preston. We are bottlers. It would be rather annoying to see Brentford finish second but it might at least prove a point. A few of us thought that last Summer needed a new number 2 to at least challenge Raya but most importantly a credible goalkeeping coach. Mowbray’s view seemed to be, if Raya wants to leave then he can leave - better to let unhappy players go than try to keep them against their will. In a way there is some sense in that but it shouldn’t be allowed to get to that stage. This is the problem with having favourites and getting too close to individuals “as human beings”. It might make you a great bloke but successful football managers need to have sleepless nights and then be ruthless. It’s a tough job and needs hard characters. Keeps players on their toes as they don’t want to cross him.
  21. Bennett has been on the bench four times this season and has started every other game. He is captain (shouldn’t be) and he plays even when he plays out of position at full back. He’s Mr Versatile and Tony’s man. I used to think he was a real asset to the team but that was in the middle or at a pinch on the right side of midfield. At this point, he’s Jason Lowe with a fist pump. Mowbray values players’ contribution to dressing room chat more than their contribution on the pitch.
  22. As long as he is fit Mowbray will start Bennett. Right now it’s probably worth putting him in goal.
  23. This guy is a hamster in a wheel. Sometimes he goes fast and sometimes he goes slowly. Sometimes he just stands still. And sometimes he even goes backwards. But ultimately he is going nowhere. Kevin Gallagher summed it up just now by saying, and I paraphrase for brevity, we set up 4-6-0, defending before attacking, and sapping the confidence out of our forward players. If we cannot go for it from the position we are in, safe, with a 7th placed finish no better than 21st, and on the tails of local rivals then when can we? We need to perform far far better than that. But why should the players care? Doesn’t matter if they are in or out of form, it doesn’t affect chances of selection. Doesn’t matter what happens on the pitch or for how many matches, Mowbray is under zero pressure. All too comfortable and, as far as I’m concerned, promotion will mean pressure from fans for a change of manager, while WDL in the Championship will not.
