  1. Rooney’s Derby aren’t Championship standard either. They couldn’t even take points from us! Hey, these Ipswich woolly-backs aren’t like us you know! He’s probably a Mick McCarthy fan still. (Only joking @DE. I love you really)
  2. Fans are always critical of their own clubs. But saying Rotherham’s fixture list was the same as everyone else’s - particularly when the margins were as tight as they were today - is hardly ‘offensive’ but is definitely grossly unfair.
  3. I thought you were a little misguided, now I think you have a vendetta against Rotherham or Warne. Ridiculous to suggest that Rotherham’s compacted run in was no different to anyone else’s season.
  4. Very very harsh. Had the worst run in of any team by some distance and only just missed out. Fatigue had clearly taken over by the end.
  5. Oh for a manager who cared half as much as Paul Warne clearly does. Now that is someone desperately unfortunate from a covid perspective. Massively hindered them with so much fixture congestion. They so nearly did it as well. No sentiment from Mick McCarthy, who lets be fair will see Rotherham like Gareth Ainsworth would see Burnley, but they certainly had nothing to play for apart from to stick one to a Barnsley rival.
  6. Over the next few weeks we will start to hear Rovers fans talking about how Mowbray needs to be given a chance next season.
  7. On today’s evidence he is not making ANY plans for next season. Too busy giving players long-service awards. Yet rewarding youngsters for a great season is seen by some as the wrong thing to do.
  8. Another million added to Arma’s price tag with another two goals.
  9. Looks like Rotherham now going down. Bastard Rooney is going to fluke it.
  10. Shameful indictment of what Mowbray does to a football club. Coventry have never looked back since he left.
  11. Wycombe can’t stay up without scoring another 12 goals and Wednesday winning 1-0, while Rotherham need to lose 6-1.
  12. I genuinely believe that Mowbray thinks he has us punching above our weight. A reality that he himself is foisting on us. Oh for a manager who actually has a clue how to organise a team and make use of one of the best and most successful academies in the country. I hope that the fact he has out-going players on the bench means it’s a last hurrah and he is off but I fear it’s just another two-fingered salute at fans, and we will just limp on.
  13. Everyone at UEFA makes money as long as those very same clubs making money so they have to keep them happy while being seen to be punishing them. In effect, their wife just told them they’ve reconsidered leaving them for another man she’s been having an affair with, because their new house isn’t as comfy as they thought it would be. On her return not only did she not find the locks changed, or her clothes on the lawn but her husband has “laid down the law” by making her spend one night in the spare room to think about her actions. Next week she’s going to move the ‘other man’ into the marital bad with her, and put the husband in the spare room. But… “they still love each other”.
  14. All sounds very cultural IMHO. I expect nobody would dare tell Desai what really needs to happen at a football club so as to avoid a Queen of Hearts response (“off with their heads”). They are too proud to admit that they don’t have a clue what to do but won’t listen to any of the great unwashed who deign to know better. Even people who had been at the club for a decade before them succeeding on a shoestring. For that reason, and in the absence of a real CEO being possible, we need a manager who they would respect the opinion of because of what he has done in the game and their media gravitas. Someone they could see as an equal across the football-business divide. Someone as arrogant as them but not as clueless about football. Jose Mourinho would have been top of that list had Jack been owner in 2021. Huge gravitas and out of work. (If anything he is becoming a fading star and in some ways inferior to the then up and coming Dalglish). But it would have been much the same: “As if Jose would join a Second Division side - let alone Blackburn Rovers”. The trouble is that he and his ilk now cost far too much (obviously). But without that it just means that we, and our managers, will continue to be plebs in their eyes. We will always be at arms length and ignored. In my view, Mark Hughes is the best possible alternative, plus he knows the club and knows about sorting out a defence - even on the cheap. I guess we need to know if we can even afford him. Because without the ability to spend any money (thanks in part to the profligacy of Mowbray) this misery and relegation fodder football is simply being propped up at the end of each season: the living dead. Not so much Blackburn Rovers as Blackburn Zombies. The only other alternative is a complete fluke like Holloway was at Blackpool (no, I don’t want Holloway). But we don’t do flukes in Blackburn, we do hard work and would prefer to be treated with a bit of respect. Venkys have had so many excuses over the years: duped, naive, didn’t understand, badly advised, didn’t know relegation was possibly (presumably twice), FFP, Bank of India, Covid. A full decade of opportunity to address all of those things but instead we just have silence and neglect. There is absolutely no excuse to continue to back Mowbray. But as long as they keep writing checks they will continue to have excuses made for them.
  15. Not sure you need any to run an entire football club!
