  1. The linesman was on the Riverside and should have seen Wharton offside. Even if he thought Wharton hadn't touched it, he is interfering......but who cares? The ref was spot on for the penalty that was never was. Hedges clearly plays the ball first then there is contact. One correct decision, one incorrect we would still have won one-nil. Bye Bye Mowbray, please never darken our doors again. By the way, Corry Evans lasted longer than his occasional 70 minutes he used to put in with a Rovers shirt on.
  2. Confidence comes and go but it can be influenced by not playing in your best position.
  3. Thats the point in question Jan. It will compare directly with Rothwell last season. Will we cash in?
  4. He does not get time on the ball playing deep especially when teams employ a high press. Up until yesterday Rovers have deployed a midfield two against a three which usually allows two to hunt him down and maybe the three may help him although he is low on confidence
  5. Personally worried that Buckley struggles with the deep lying midfield. He is prone to lazy tackling hence his booking at Cardiff where he just stuck out a foot. A team playing a high press down not give him time on the ball. His best football is when he plays in the gap just behind the forwards. We have seveeral players who can play in that position including Dack but if are to employ a deep lying midfielder Im struggling to think of one in the squad, although Ive not seen Garrett.
  6. Buckley;s best form was playing with the high press alongside Dolan. Playing on the front front in the final third. I don;t think playing further back suits him.
  7. Be interesting to see how Broughton deals with Brereton who seems to me like he is running down his contract
  8. To be honest I have to disagree in the fact one of my main complaints in the past was that he used to back track too far looking for the ball and would be in midfield or defence when midfield or defence were looking for an out ball Simple reason is that neither Gallagher or Hirst can hold the ball like Danny Graham. Im presuming that Hirst would be the extra body in midfield because as others have said we are already over run in midfield with two in there.
  9. To be honest, to me Dack still does not physically fit enough. Ive said it before but before his injuries he looked unfit and he still does. Still play him over Szmodics though
  10. I was on about the Huddersfield game mentioned earlier for Saxtons last game. The Coventry game was the Flowers' sending off
  11. Bobby Saxton's last game in charge Wasn't Flowers sent off as a non-playing sub?
  12. Rovers b Rotherham Oct 8 2022.............hopefully Im wrong
  13. Just listened to this week's Undr the Cosh with David Hillier. He talks about pinching a bag with Ex-Rover Wayne Burnett.
  14. No we didnt that year...we got Speedie when Lineker turned us down. Speedie alos said he wouldnt sign if we signed Rosenthal
  15. I'd rest Gally for this but who has scored more since Hedges has been here Gally or Hedges. If Gally plays down the middle he will grab a goal if played wide he wont.
  16. I think better examples were Geoff Thomas where Walker overuled Dalglish or Zidane where he over ruled Harford/ I was under the impression that Hodgson wanted Davies, but as an up and coming player and was not consulted on the deal and was as shocked as everyone else when we paid the fee we paid.
  17. Why? What has Phil Jones got to do wuth anything? lol
  18. I think it was who you believed. Some said 5 mill others said 2.5 mill with add ons
  19. Kill joy.......youve spoiled my journey home, Ive not got that far yet. 😀
  20. It is none other than the one of the presenters of the Undr the Cosh podcasts......Chris Brown
  21. Disagree. Used to say that if ever a player should be used as a Specialist player in American Football then Carsley was it. If you could bring him on for penalties then take off him straight after then he would have been great. Other than that average at best.
  22. Luton possibly the worst team for us to play next. The games we've lost are when we've been bullied out of the game. Nathan Jones and his teams are bullies. Rovers looked more physical on Tuesday so hopefully we dont get bullied here.
  23. Went with Keith Hill to Plymouth when we signed Nicky Marker.
  24. Listen to Michael Grey on Under the Cosh podcast tell the Dwight Yorke v SOuness training story.
