It was never offside. He's not impeding the line of sight. -

Give that linesman a medal. Never offside but we'll take it. Front 4 been poor. Need some changes. Pickering and Dolan off. Markanday and Ennis on. -

Have to be winning games like this - and I think we will fairly comfortably. -
Sam Szmodics-Your thoughts?

Most improved player in the league over the past 12 months? He's been one of the best players in the championship this season. Certainly been our best player so far. First half of last season it felt like Peterborough had done well getting the price they did for him. Now he looks like an absolute bargain. Him, Hyam, and Brittain were all top signings last summer. -
Interesting that he didn't throw Telalovic on for 20 mins with the game won. I thought that would have been the perfect opportunity to give him some minutes. I don't think he'll be in the match day squad after the intl break with Leonard back.
-
Excellent win and performance. QPR will be in league one next year. We won't have an easier game this season.
-
Very happy with that. QPR have been as bad as I hoped they would be and we've been pretty good. Surely we go on to win from here. All the new signings on show looking good. Starting to make an impact.
-
Their chance is that they're playing a team that is out of form and results. Add no striker and the worst defensive record into the mix and QPR must also be confident of a win today. Gareth Ainsworth teams do not play tippy tippy football. Quite the opposite.
-
QPR fans not happy with their line up either so maybe we have a chance!
-
BBD had a huge amount of potential and was a top young talent at Forest. Telalovic is 23 years old and not played at anywhere near the level of the championship in his life. He was a cheap punt who was probably bottom of the transfer list of targets but had to make do as we had no money. The first glimpses of him and the guy can't even run.
-
Have you seen Telalovic play, Chaddy? I love your optimism about him but he's useless.
-
Dolan and Markanday keep their places; Brittain and Moran don't. Two of your best players benched, two of your worst keep their place. Someone explain that to me.
-
Not looking forward to the game. I expect us to win but I equally wouldn't be surprised if we lost given we're the worst team defensively. 5 losses in a row and a probable drop into the bottom 3 would be unthinkable. QPR are dreadful so a loss today would be hard to take.
-
I think we'll win this one. QPR are heading for league 1 this season and it just hasn't worked out for Ainsworth there. I think we'll see a return to a more standard line up after all the changes on midweek. Siggy and Travis to start.

v Coventry City (a) - 4/10/2023

I disagree that it's entertaining or good football. It's shambolic football. Conceding 21 goals, losing 4 games in a row, and 6 out of 10 losses is not entertaining football. It's a complete myth that it's entertaining just because it's pretty passing football. Our tactics are naive and we have a very soft underbelly as the sole focus is on keeping possession and passing the ball. -

If Owen Coyle or TM was in the dugout, then I think we'd see a very different reaction. JDT has enough credit in the bank for most fans after last season. He's a very good coach and he'd do very well with a team who can afford better attacking players. He's not the right fit for us this season given the squad we have. We need to be scrappy, hard to beat, and not give too much away. TM tried the possession based style of football and abandoned it pretty quickly as we were seeing what we see now - a hatful of goals conceded. We had better players then too. If we play this style of football then we'll be bottom 6. -

Coventry were dreadful and still won. You don't have to do much to score against us...but great passing football so all good. If you can't do the basics right then you're never gonna get results. JDT has got it hopelessly wrong this season with the way he's approached it. Trying to play like Barcelona on our budget is a very smart move. 5th from bottom and the worst defensive record. I'd get rid ASAP and get an organiser through the door. -

We're in trouble this season. Defensively we are the worst in the league. JDT just can't set a team up properly. -

Decent so far but no real attacking threat. Coventry have been dreadful. -

This is probably one of the games where we can outscore the opposition. I have no confidence we'll get a result though. JDT continues to say we're not too open and that the goals conceded are down to individual errors. Yes, but if you give the opposition 10-15 chances a game and let them run at your defence at will then, of course, there's a much higher chance that defenders are gonna make mistakes or switch off. They're being run ragged all game so there's a huge correlation between the open style of football and defensive errors. -
We are going down (the pessimism thread)
rovers11 replied to simongarnerisgod's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
We're not going down. We will beat the lesser teams at home and pick up the odd result away from home. But we won't get near the play offs. Us simply becoming a development club is not good enough for a club like ours. Nothing will change though with the current ownership. No ambition at all. I completely agree with the post above that the current style of play is all about JDT looking to further his career rather than because it is the best way for us to get results. That doesn't sit well with me. -

Sunderland have a younger team than we do and are 4th in the league. They sold off their experienced players too. Yes, we needed experience but we have good young players who are being left horribly exposed by awful tactics. Wharton is the best young midfielder in the league who is being left to look like a complete chump because he's got no one around him to support. Players like Carter are looking woeful as its 4 on 4 every attack so they don't know which way to turn. Yes, poor transfer window but the tactics are to blame at the moment. Shipping 3+ every game is inexcusable.
